The 4.6 special Livestream just ended, and I’m bummed I couldn’t stream it myself. The weather’s a mess, and my wifi’s not playing nice either, so I’m sorry about that. Well the special program has ended and it revealed a ton of content that we will be getting in the upcoming update, including the character banners, events, quests, rewards and more. So let’s quickly go through everything that was shown during the livestream.
First things first, Hoyoverse just dropped three new exclusive redeem codes, and you can use them to snag 300 primogems and other in-game items. You can find all codes in the description box as well as the pinned comment— so make sure to redeem them as soon as possible, as they expire in about 16 hours.
Version 4.6 update will introduce Arlecchino as the new 5-star pyro character, who uses a polearm, and it looks sick. The 4.6 Livestream showcased her kit and gameplay, which look promising, but we will discuss about her kit and whether you should pull for her in another video.
Regarding banners, Hoyoverse confirmed Arlecchino’s release in phase one of version 4.6, alongside Lyney’s first rerun. In phase two, Wanderer will finally get his long-awaited rerun alongside Baizhu, who is all set for his third rerun.
In the weapons banner, Crimson Moon’s Semblance and The First Great Magic will feature in the first half, while Tulaytullah’s Remembrance and Jadefall’s Splendor will appear on the second half banners of 4.6.
Additionally, Version 4.6 will introduce a story quest for Arlecchino titled Ignis Purgatorius Chapter Act I, an It will also unlock Fontaine’s second weekly boss, providing talent level-up materials for Arlecchino. And Cyno is getting the second part of his story quest, and we got a sneak peak of sethos during the trailer as well.
Like every other update, Genshin Impact 4.2 will also conduct one flagship event and three more minor events, which are Arataki Life Rock Rainbow Grand Tour, which is going to be the main event of 4.6, Legend Of The Vagabond Sword Event, Vibro-Crystal Research Event, and our personal favorite Windtrace, at least it’s my favorite event.
The 4.6 patch will introduce two new bosses: first one is the knave herself, which will be available in the Trounce Domain after completing her story quest, and an overworld boss that drops ascension materials for Arlecchino.
The upcoming patch will further expand Fontaine’s map towards the east direction. The new update will release some new locations, called Bayda harbor, Petrichor and Remuria.
As was announced in the last edition of the Developer’s Discussion, the officials will add a couple of new features to improve the players’ experience, but I’ll only mention the two important ones. Version 4.6 will add new avatar icons, this includes icons for NPCs, enemies, and quest-related items. One of the best upcoming QoL changes is the new Treasure Compass optimization. Additionally, after the 4.6 update, the Treasure Compass will mark the location of the chest on the map, making it easier to track the chests.
