For me Yelan's play style is more engaging than XQ. she has charged shots that you can get in certain conditions and her ES is unique and fun to do, she also can use both Elegy and sac bow so in either ways you can either buff your team or have fun doing her ES more
especially with C1 you can get it up to 3 times with sac bow. being a tall woman is also has its benefits in exploring and such. I also wanna mention that her Elemental Burst has a form of tracking in it unlike XQ, that can be good or bad depending on how it'll work ofc. Lastly she has Mona buff in her passive skill which it puts her leagues above XQ depending on how you utilize it.Done right huh. That’s good to know and worth spending money on.

off-field dps with 88 crit dmg stat BiS weapon XD
I noticed Hoyo is cheating us after the Homma skyrocketing sales. They are adding weapons with bigger pp numbers like Itos and now Yelans, But they dont make much of a difference. Because now you gotta have that 88 plus crit dmg for itto to play at his potential and his potential is lower than Ayaka, Ganyu etc… they dont need 99 crit stat weapons. It is a scam lol ppl see big number and are like woah must getttttt but in the grand scheme of things it makes little difference bcs they made the character adjusted to the weapon so you still get regular weapon stats in the end. It is just bait
Yelan is a more offensive sub dps than xingqiu who has dmg reduction and some healing. Thus, yelan is best together with bennett xiangling raiden as bennett healing is enough to survive so rational team would be buffed. My hu tao can survive together with xingqiu fischl albedo. It seems two teams of pyro dps would be possible.

On Yelan, I’m at the point of my account where I’m not looking for more characters, but rather more play styles. Yelan will be super good, but nothing new.
HP scaling anything would be awesome cuz I have so many HP artifacts. She does seems like a fun character and I already framed for her Ascension and talent materials, so there is no harm in pulling for her
I appreciate that she doesnt benefit from the bennett buff. Might have been broken in vape if she did. About time we see less usage of him.
A lot of people say that she's going to be a really good character, I just hope that Mihoyo won't do a Yae Miko case 2.0 here and change a lot of things at the last minute…

but kokomi and zhongli are not dps though and nether is yelan shes a support/sub dps unless you have c6 and most hp scaling characters are supports but thats fine hp scaling does not need saving or fixed i have to disagree with you on this one.

shes kinda better xingqui depending on the team comp but also she may be the only or one of the few characters who can use 4 piece tenacity to so that is another good option for her to depending on how you wanna use her.
I hope they balance out the characters by adding more HP and Def scaling units so that at least the artifact farming won't be so painful.
also you dont need c6 ganyu to have fun big disagree with that to.
Yoimiya is 'fun' so is fischl but both can get boring sometimes, I think quick swap to Yelan and charge then follow through with burst and tons of normals can be a ton of fun. I'm hoping since I want to play her normal heavy she can pair well with Yun Jin, but timing will probably play a factor so who knows 🤷🏽
and again yelan is not a dps unless you have c6 so dont go expecting a "fun bow user" because your not gonna be using her charge shots much again unless you go for her bow and get c6 otherwise shes going to do mediocre charge shot damage compared to like ganyu and even yoimiya plus it well still be just as slow and boring at least if you find that kinda play style boring which you do so i think you got this all wrong and are setting yourself and others up for disappointment.
but yeah shes pretty much a xingqui and may replace him at least in some teams and may be a better xingqui at least in some cases i think.

Recent dreams be saying nerfs have already begun. Nothing that fundamentally changes too too much but they definitely started knocking her down a peg with according to TonyTo Icd and her elemental gauge application from 1.5U -> 1U

IMO non-ATK scaling units are interesting and i'm glad 2.7 characters (Kuki & Yelan) are done better than some previous split-scaling ones like Thoma or Xinyan, or even Albedo (his burst scaling is ATK while his skill is full DEF). Yun Jin's pure DEF scaling on her E is also done right.
I'm looking forward more towards Kuki, she's the 1st electro unit who scales off HP (well there's C1 Beidou but who builds a shielder Beidou?) and also the 1st Electro healer (C4 Fischl or Proto Amber Lisa excluded) and she can abuse the 4pc Tenacity as well, and her burst is also pure-HP scaling and only costs 60 energy
As a 5star Xingqiu she will propably be kinda bad for f2p, low spenders but good for whales.
I’m most excited about charge attack because that’s what I hate about bow users, I can’t charge quick enough. Also with hp scaling she can use 3* sharpshooter’s oath that gives low base att of 401 but gives 46.9% crit damage and 48% damage increase against weak shots, so worse case she’ll still have a cracked bow (I also have R5 stringless). Basically I want to play her as a sub dps sniper, maybe I’ll use 4 piece wanderers, depends how much damage her ult really is. Rn I’m 40 wishes in and 100 saved up no pity so if I miss her 50/50 depending if kazuha is coming same patch, I’ll probs guarantee her.

Your last statement- I think it’s very reasonable to expect/desire that a 5-star unit be better than a 4-star C6 unit. I know that may be saying a lot since Xingqiu is very strong as a support, but still the argument remains for giving players what they grind/pay for.
She looks very interesting, too bad ill skip her to save gems :/ for some reason this reminds me of Eula banner, that came out of nowhere lorewise before the beginning of inazuma when the patches were very weak (well Eula did made that patch better because she is such a good character)

From the „dreams“ I have seen. She probably won’t have energy problems. 10s cooldown and producing 5 particles. Compared to xinqiu same amount of energy but half the cooldown.
I like almost everyhing about yelan except for her ult. her ult doesnt fit her kit Imo and just ends up making her a xingqiu 2.0 and I really dont think we should be making characters that are just strongers versions of already existing ones (i dont mind them fitting a same or similar role as long as their play styles are different and unique). I hoped she would play something like a stealthy ganyu with her charged shoots being aoe and her skill encouraging her to zoom around the field but it feels like she will just end up being that unit that you ult on and insta swap to somethig ele

Isn't Yelan have 1.5U gauge which is more than Xq? That already seems better as enemies will always have hydro for you to vape.
