I still don't understand why people don't use ascension planners. The one I use even gives me the estimate of resin needed (the name is Genshin Center, not a recommendation, read the ToS yourself).

I haven't farmed artifacts since around 3.5 – 3.6. All I have been doing since then is leveling every single character. EVERY CHARACTER . Level 90, Level 8,9 or 10 talents (depending on how much I like the character, how much I would use them and which talents are important) and max friendship. At the moment I still have 18 characters to level and I am missing only 14 characters from the archive.
Honesty, I have been enjoying Genshin a lot more from leveling the characters than farming artifacts as I have end goals to work towards rather than going into a domain 4-5 times a day, get 9 terrible artifacts and maybe one good one and repeat until I get a new character.
After the characters are leveled then I will work on max leveling most of the weapons (not every single one but a fair amount will be leveled).
Only after all the characters have been leveled and the weapons leveled will I start artifact farming again.

Ive been on a character level/talent/weapon quest for a bit recently an tbh ive felt and seen a strength increase in my characters. I feel dumb and long overdue about it now but proud nonetheless 🤦♂️

Apart from this small fact, whoever has been playing more than 2 years.. the only real endgame is farming artifacts because you can have thousands/hundred resources in terms in books, mora and talents..

Weekly boss mats just take so long that farming talent books gets waaaaay ahead of them. Idk if I have trash luck or what, but it always takes me ages to get past level 7 or 8 or any talent.
i always 80, 8(on needed talents), then farm a decent set. 90, 10/9 talents, then go back and try to farm prefect artifacts. it keeps me from constantly farming the same thing and getting burnt out.

This is true, UNLESS we're talking about Mondstadt characters. There is no reason why anyone should ever subject themselves to that domain more than is absolutely necessary and I'll die on that hill
yeah, when my friend who was coming back to genshin asked me what to farm for talents or artifacts I told him "Do you want guaranteed improvement or do you want to gamble for improvement" he took guaranteed. I also told him to look at his core team look when at what day the talent domains are avaiable and on those off days where nothing is avaiable do artifacts.
I had artifacts ready for furina before she came out and those are the only good golden troup artifacts I have even though I never stopped farming golden troupe even after her release. Still constantly farming with 0 luck.
Shes 41k hp 51cr 177 cd and 155 er with festering desire and I think I'll need a year of time to improve even slightly.

i 6 – 10 – 10 my furina last week. and god damn that was the fastest i have ever done that. mind you i had venti from his first rerun and he js still level 80/80 not even 6th ascended. furina is sooo good man. i have spent upwards of 15 fragile to get her mats. love her and enjoying every moment

It's good advice for newer players, but for others who already have strong accounts it depends on their goals. For a while now I usually just wait for the talent books to accumulate over time through the payed battle pass and events unless there's a new character I really like and can't wait weeks to max them out. Since there's no PVP aspect of the game the only way to compete in some form is to get your artifact builds ranked on the Akasha System website. So it became kind of an obsession for me to get as many characters in the top 1% then top 100 top 10 etc. The game is way too easy anyway, this is the true endgame for me.

honestly for me, i'll farm a new domain for about a week. and then randomly hit up certain domains for certain characters. and then that will be their artifacts for the longest time. still rocking Wanderer artifacts I got on the 3rd-4th day and same for my other DPSs. not ideal but they all have stats and do enough for me. most of my supports are running Glad and Noblesse pieces from bosses. i just do domains for the BP these days

articaft domains are mostly my go-to for those days that the talent domains I need aren't open. although admittedly, I only really focus on my hypercarries, and I should probably work more on my supports lol. I also tend to focus so much on character level that I kinda forget about talents and artifacts lol
I thought upgrading talents was common sense… I'm on the right path it seems

Guaranteed upgrades > RNG Upgrades! I already went this route simply because my only DPS was Diluc and the crimson with of flames domain has pyro abyss mages at the final stage and I at least never struggled with the open world which mattered when doing the story at least. It is good to know that even going from 8 to 9 is very costly as i usually go straight to 9 on talents I know are important if I know the 4* will likely never leave my preplaned team (Like Sucrose or Xingque/Kaeya for Vape/Melt Diluc) simply because farming for artifacts is simply gambling for power and is usually felt the least rewarding for me even if it is the biggest boost.
