  1. I’ve just come back myself, I played from day 1 till 2.8, found myself being more scared of missing on free primos than spending time with my then fiancé. I have all of sumeru to go through, and with Fontaine soon, I feel like when I first played. So much content to get through, except this time I have no rush to finish sumeru before it does. I’m taking my time, and it feels great. I’m also a Eula main so coming back with her banner is nice 😂.

  2. I came back to genhsin after a long time for 3.8 to prepare for the next region. I gotta say I have come to accept what the game is and probably going to be like maybe it slightly improves idk, the point Im trying to make is I have been enjoying playing the game casually by myself this summer holiday in my free time and even though the game is flaud in many ways after a long time Ive missed it. Dont feel pressured to play the game just play it for what it is when you feel like it and you will come to appreciate it more and have more fun with it.

  3. I took a break for around 6 7 months, and now that I'm back, the game does feel refreshing and I'm enjoying it the way I did when I started. The new event was pretty cool. There was something more than going around killing hillichurls. Also, maybe it's because I'm not a content creator, but I've stopped caring about characters. I'm pretty sure my ayaka can carry me the whole rest of the game. There's tonnes of stuff to do, cause 6 months is a lot of stuff in the game.

  4. Paimon killed it for me, and she's probably one of the major reasons why I left the game for Star Rail on top of it lacking end game content. Without characters like Paimon, the story in Star Rail gets 100% better, because it can gets serious when it wants to but it can also be light-hearted when the times are appropriate. With Paimon in GI, some serious moment can easily be killed off because she just cannot stop talking and whining. Like, can you imagine in Star Rail when Dan Heng and Blade finally meet each other (1.2 quest) and then there's Paimon there making some goofy comments about it, hence killing the serious vibe of the scene? She'd probably be saying stuff like "Oh no! It's Blade and Kafka! What are we going to do Dan Heng?! I think we should run." Or shit like that

  5. all I want is better storytelling. I'm tired of watching the same emotionless character move their arms up to the forehead or cross them. In HSR the characters actually change expressions, move their eyebrows, have a sweat droplet, move their eyes, something. They are emotionless and I love that. Even in ZZZ their expressions are moving but in genshin they are so beyond static it makes me fall asleep. Like for fuck sake it can't take that much money to make the character look upset when they are upset.

Like the baal story quest when they commented on her not looking good, she looked exactly like how she always does. If they just animated her sweating or shaking, it would have been more powerful but no she stays in the same fucking animation everyone else do. This is a billions of dollars game, I'm not playing till they actually put fucking work in their storytelling. Anyone can write a deep lore compelling story but not everyone can act it out.

  6. Im 99% sure that you wont really like Fontaine, you want the game to change certain aspects thar should chamge which is fine and understandable but you dont really seem to like it it kinda seems like you dont really like the exploration as much, you hate the story aside from a few moments and dont like a character unless they are a dommy mommy and its fine to have your preferences its clear you dont like the game much and i get wanting to give it a second chance but it seems your expecting a whole different game so why bother blaming genshin for not giving you that game when you could just go play a different game like star rail you clearly like it alot more and tbh hearing you bitch about the same couple things about genshin is getting old so I think just sticking to star rail a game you clearly like would be better instead of complaining about a game you dont like.

  7. While I do think a lot of your criticisms are completely valid about the game, I also think a shift on perspective and how you engage with the game can definitely help with the enjoyability of the game. I stopped doing all the bullshit daily grind stuff like a year ago and I really only engage in the events that I think are actually fun and not just BS filler content.

Sumeru's story was a step up in quality in my opinion at least among the main story. Most of the side quests are still pretty unengaging, maybe a lack of voice acting is part of the reason for this. I think the absolute biggest thing Genshin could do to improve its story is to stop putting the vast majority of the story in dialogue and actually start showing people the story, you know the good ol classic rule of show don't tell. Cannot tell you the amount of times I read about something in Genshin and thought this would have been cool if they actually showed it me.

  8. I stopped playing when 3.7 dropped, one version before Sumeru. I couldn't take it anymore. I 100% every other area besides the Chasm below. I was way too poor to be giving 100 dollars every other banner to not only be bored after finishing things in less than three days, but hated having to long in every single day just to do the same damn grind and maybe one other thing before logging the fuck off and dreading having to come back the next day. All for what? A beautiful cutscene here and there, 3 times the questions with no answers and constant FOMO. No thanks.

Sumeru looked like it'd be interesting when it was about to come out but I never got the urge to return. Now Fontaine is about to come out and while I was slightly more tempted than Sumeru, I will not be returning. Perhaps in 20 years when the game has milked every dime it ever could that it realses characters and weapons for pure in-game currency because its servers will go offline and it'll be purely singleplayer. Maybe then.

  9. Just took like a 4 month hiatus and came back now I regret the hiatus (only because I missed out on freemogems) but i least I still have some sumuru to explore, I just cant seem to drop this fame entirely.

  10. Even though I still like Genshin I agree with many of Tectone’s points on it. I mainly play for the story at this point and drop out afterwards. I highly doubt much will change with Genshin since they mainly follow the main feedback of their most important player base that being CN and mobile players. I for one was turned off by developers’ focus on “player anxiety” when responding to adding more challenging gameplay mechanics. I tried playing on mobile before and it runs like shit on there and I have the latest IPhone so I get what they mean about anxiety. At least Star Rail is turned based so mobile limitations aren’t as much a barrier.

  11. I think something i would like to see for Fontaine(might not happen until Natlan)
Would be a pvp area with some incentives to do pvp, maybe a ranking system?
I think that would give people the chance to truly test their accounts against others, something i think the game is lacking and could benefit from

  12. The issue here is, they don't want to make the game better because they don't NEED to. This game is a waifu simulator and people are going to be spending incredible amounts of money in every banner just to get some pixelated titties and a hope they'll one day find a girl like that irl ( *spoiler alert, they don't exist.* )
So yeah, the game is never going to change, hoping it would it's just copium at its finest.

  13. The only thing i wish is to goddamn make important events, like the scara event wayyy back, albedo event, lantern rites, everything to be permanent, cuz it has some really good and useful lore.

Also i don't care about the rewards, but just the quest atleast would be soo better for people like me who joined this after these events

  14. As a player, i can confidently say i ONLY focus on the lore of both games, don't care about competitiveness, character collectioning or anything, i like to play the game because i LOVE stories. I Ibegun playing Genshin on the 2nd to last day of Eula's first ever banner, and right from the get go, i felt positively overwhelmed by the astonishing amount of lore, maybe simple, but a lot of it i loved how every character played a role in the story, as small as it was, and i loved the fact that every single character, NPC, place, object, has a backstory. With Honkai, i felt like i was playing a bland re-doing of something i somehow knew beforehand. The story is pretty good, but it just feels extremely empty in comparison, so i kind of always knew what was going to happen, and it never made me feel excited for the story. Also, i still can't believe i played through the whole main storyline of the first version, and not once met Pela (and another character who's name i don't even remember).
Just that, Genshin's story, as simple as it is, keeps you engaged all the time, you can't stop playing, while with Honkai's i had to force myself to keep going.
Also, sorry if you disagree, but aside from March 7th, Bronya, Seele and Yanqing, those are the most blatantly boring characters ever. I don't even remember half of the characters names.

  15. What I want is Paimon so shut the fuck up. Completely. Can’t stand the eng VA. All she does it point out the obvious things and repeat stuff that was said 0.1 seconds ago. And it’s weird when she talks in third person, it’s annoying. but realistically this is going to stay the same.

Abyss floor 12 is also just ridiculous to beat.
