so, this is how MHY will "fix" the artifact system…
Hydro dmg goblet 1 basically had about 18% atk with that flat 68 atk sub.
ATK% is also underrated as a substat. Yes, crit stats are almost always better, but we don't get to choose our artifacts and I have seen so many people call artifacts trash when they rolled a few times into ATK%, when this is not true at all. I did calculations for some of my characters and the value of an additional average ATK% substat was between 70% and 90% of an additional average Crit substat. That is around the same ratio between a low roll and a higher roll.
For example one of my best Flowers has 19.8 ATK% 9.3 Crit% 7.0 CritDMG%. Some people might call that trash, but when I use a DMG calculator, this is usually the flower that gets picked as the best in slot over other artifacts with much higher crit values.
Gonna get a lot of ATK with Engulfing Lightning though, in that case I suppose we can go back to electro dmg bonus goblet on baal?
the important information for me in there was, that all dmg bonuses stack additively…
i always thought the more different dmg boni you take, the less diminishing returns you have, but i guess i was wrong.
I would like to point out that Yoimiya actually gets more benefit from attack% sands when running Rust + Shimenawa's set, I believe you forgot to point out she gets normal attack damage bonus from using her skill which adds 155% normal attack damage at level 8, which brings the total close to 300% total damage bonus (crazy right?) during her infusion window. This is further intensified if you are running Thundering Pulse on her, which doesn't get an attack substat, unlike Rust.

Thank you for the video. It proves my experience with Atk% weapons. Depending on the character, team comps and substats Atk% seems way more viable or easier to build.

Thanks for this! I used to feel guilty when I put non-elemental damage goblets on my characters, but now I can rest assured that ATK% is viable
A big factor to consider is Kazuha, he already gives you a big elemental damage % bonus + some characters get that stat naturally while leveling up so you can definitely go overboard with the elemental damage % and lose out on damage in which case an atk% goblet would have been better.
Do not worry AtK% goblet with godly rolls of crit is as rare as ATK% sands with crit rolls.. So far I only have one Atk% goblet with 10/20crit.crtdmg roll and this is on my 2nd account which is actually 2months younger than my main and I've played since day1.
P.S: I'm actually one of those people who see crit/critdmg rolls = autolock even if it's hp/healing/def/em/er mainstat
I've used atk% goblet with kaeya since the beggining, and it's super good on him, since i use everything in his kit, including normal attacks
Here is why Atk% goblet is ***better :
1. Any character can use it (swappable between characters)
2. Increases all kind of dmg, not just elemental (not too much tho)
3. Easy to build
4. Best for mixed damage (phy+elem) characters
* Use Atk% only if the substats are really good
* Too much atk% will have diminishing returns
* Not recommended for pure elemental characters (e.g. Ningguang/Yanfei)
I use atk% goblet on Qiqi. raises her heals while also keeping her damage (she is built with damage, albeit smol, but is still a damage dealer)
i run atk% goblet on my klee because i run her with kazuha and also lost prayers as her weapon + her ascension is laready pyro dmg bonus. atk% goblet definitely works better than a pyro goblet in this situation!
