"White" Character Sparks Genshin Impact's Latest Controversy…

Twitter is mad about the skin tone of this leaked character from the upcoming Sumeru region update. Is it valid concern?

  2. Do they even see her ears?
Why is it always the Skin color?
That she lives in a freaking forest? Do these people just want to find the most popular game to sh-t on because they have nothing else better to do?
This is a fictional in-game character people!
This is Cookie Run Kingdom all over again!!

  3. I'm not even surprised to be honest… I mean it is TWITTER and they are toxic af, fighting and getting angry for a skin tone of a fictional character that they don't have any control with in the first place…She is based on Middle Eastern region yes but why are they assuming that everyone in Middle-Eastern has darker tone? there are people who have whiter skin tone there… Dang twitter fussing over small thing again.

  4. why she should be brown? i been comment many times in social media sumeru based on middle east majority is not brown or black, coz even before sumeru release almost all npc from sumeru is white, if you want brown or black skin wait for natlan

but nobody believe me they said some asian is brown bla bla, and here we go they ate their own fake leak then angry for whitewashing

but well what could i say, this genshin community for you 👀

  5. These people just keep creating problems that shouldn't be problems. I don't care about her skin color, gender or if she's a loli or not. People have to go touch some grass man.

  8. She's a flower. And Sumuru is based on Persia anyway, middle east is not Black, you silly tools.

I'm from Egypt, and I'm of darker tone, but we have all kinds of skin tones here (mostly medium ones, but yeah).

Persia and all of west Asia have much lighter tones… I mean some races have no black at all, like Turks …

Why stupid people from America project their inner problems with racism into things based on middle east … Middle east doesn't have your damn racism to begin with.

And we neither black nor white, we are just people..

  10. the fact that y’all are taking twitter so seriously is sad 😹😹 pls get your head out your butts and realize people are going to have different opinions than you. it’s not always racism and you’re not always the “bigger person” by deciding it’s stupid and unreasonable for people to want more variety with genshin skintones in 2022..

  12. I am not a racist
But if waifu-type game want to sell me their new character, it better fit in my "girl type"
It about personal preference, if you dont like the skin tone just shut up
Beside, its an anime-style game. All characters is like east asian people to me, even mondstadt people still look like east asian

  13. 2 things to remember:

    1. Sumeru is still influenced with a variety of ancient civilizations and modern countries, so there is not just one skin colour.

    2. And, the reason why Kusanali is pale is due to the lore behind it.

First of all, Kusanali is basically a hermit, meaning she never, ever goes out. Why? We don’t know yet. But through leaks it is implied that she is hiding, etc.
TLDR; Kusanali is pale because she never goes out and sees the sun.

  14. Saying that this is a game and it is fictional is trying to put issues under the rug. They are representing everything about that culture: music, architecture, landscapes, legends, names. But when it's time to represent it's people, then it's fictional and they don't have any commitment to representation? WTF is this double standard? I don't think anyone is complaining about the fact that they are not black, but instead the FACT that they are ALL WHITE. They are EUROPEAN WHITE. Even white people from middle east are not THAT white. Is clearly whitewashing! That makes NO SENSE. But I guess even "yellow" people are whitewashed when portrayed in this kind of anime aesthetic, I don't know why we're surprised. And forget all the controversy about Sumeru characters, remember that 99% of Genshin characters are PALE WHITE and only two are slightly tanned. Do you think that's cool? "But it's a chinese company". Then don't appropriate other cultures around the globe to MAKE MONEY, close your game to your people and represent your culture or things 100% fictional.

  15. She’s white because the community has deemed it so. People who pay for these characters pay more rolls for the “white” skin characters. The people who push for different colors DONT pay for it.

  16. I'm from the middle east and we have no problem with the company making the characters white even tho it would be cool to have more dark skinned characters plus not all of us need to be dark skinned if we're from the middle east
