This video contains the complete timeline of Scaramouche from his creation to the present day – or at least as close as we can get from the Husk of Opulent Dreams set.

*NOTES*
– As several of you mentioned, the original book about Frankenstein had no significant references to lightning. That was added in later adaptations and it's mostly a pop-culture reference. (Thank you Storia X for pointing that out)
– I made a mistake regarding the identity of the person who said "never reveal your identity to others." This line was said by *Katsuragi* and not **Nagamasa**. The two paragraphs are adjacent to each other and my brain did that thing where it blended them together. In light of this, it's likely that Katsuragi may have said this line to Scaramouche upon discovering him, then later Nagamasa told him "[…]I can only deal with you in this fashion.[…]". It's possible Katsuragi died because Nagamasa wished to dispose of Scaramouche or turn him over to the authorities, and Katsuragi went against him. If this is the case, then Scaramouche's motivation for revenge seems all the more understandable.
Yanfei Mains approved.
You mentioned something that has been on my mind for a long time:
How the Archon war took place and had sides of the fight to result in 7 survivors?
Was it like a battle royale or a survival of the fittest game to win the ultimate prize (gnosis') for 7 later-to-be-called Archons?
What do you think?
i see scaramouche sacrificing himself for the greater good after some character development and hes not a scara douche anymore
Genshin lore theory: hmmm… Interesting…
Genshin in game lore: you traveler, you, delivery guy ok? Here's 100 mora.
I've posted this idea on a video as well, forgive me if you see this one again, just want some thoughts on this but accdg to Raiden lore, Musou Isshin (The Sword) was never sharpened so probably never used and was only use as a symbol of power of Makoto.
Also
"The day Makoto passed on, it was given into Ei's hands. The sword was stained with blood, then, and as the blade drew its first taste of crimson, it was blown aside by wild winds and blazing thunder."
Came from Musou Isshin as Well…but then it is said that during Orobashi's Attack, Orobashi got Hit by the Musou no Hitotachi along with the Watatsumi General Tozannou/Akuo (from the Akuomaru). But Stated above, Only on the day that Ei Inherited the sword, only the first time it was used ("First Taste of Crimson"). It doesn't add up.
Or like did I messed up the time line or somethin
So is it possible Raiden can perform Musou no Hitotachi on the Naginata? Another thing that suggest this is the ascension quotes, that she trains both with not only the sword but with a polearm as well in the school of Nine Way Sword Slash (which could be the same with musou no hitotachi or at least the basis of it as it is also said that People do learn the Nine way sword slash but can only do so much as the next few parts is manipulating elemental energies as well… Which being a God/Archon can do well. )
Love to see your thoughts with this.
Love your Videos as well <3
It's weird your voice fits Yanfei.
That thing mona did as soon as she realised smth ..was sssoo ccooll im still in awe of that
Ashikai: This NPC is responsible for Teppei's death. Me: Time to kill a NPC.
Nathan!!!!!!!!
I could've disagreed with you that Scaramouche is a Geo unit (just basing on its color palette) but after they've released Kazuha (whom I thought would be a Pyro unit) that idea now is just non sense. Also, there's a real possibility that he will be a Geo because of the Husk set (that you have pointed out). But of course, this will still be miHoYo's final say.
love your content as usual!
i didnt understand a single thing in this video but nice!
I'm probably not the first to point it out but I was sceptic of the Geo sword user Scaramouche theory… Until I remembered that another suspicious character who shares quite a few mirroring traits with Scaramouche is also a Geo sword user: Albedo. It would be interesting if this would turn out to be another similarity between the two 🤔
Then there is the event where Tartaglia shows up in Inazuma. It touches on why he's there.
Why is Scaramouche being a geo instead of electro so funny to me 😭🤣
Scaramouche brings down a meteor shower. That's why the first time we met him, he was apart of the meteor event. He is Geo and his abilities are throwing rocks and books at people
Hold up if in labyrinth warriors we find out that scaramouche kept the gnosis. So he probably wanted to keep it as he felt a heartily connection to him.
This is good analysis on a theory, but I want to pick at one thing: Ei specifically is cited for having developed both the sword AND spear fighting styles in Inazuma. This is mentioned in one of the Collected Miscellany videos (spec: the one for Raiden Shogun), and I believe somewhere in her voice lines or story (I'm happy to look it up if needed). In addition, Makoto is said to have never been a wielder of her sword. On the contrary, her sword was ceremonial rather than something she intended to use herself (as it's said she didn't know how to use the sword). Ei adopted her sword after her death, but Ei was the brawn to Makoto's brains. It's not an either/or preference, but Ei being the shadow (and fighter) to Makoto. They clearly served different roles while both being the Raiden Shogun's face to Inazuma. That's part of why there is no differentiation in the history of Inazuma between them and their actions, and you can only see a divide in external depictions (IE via Venti and Zhongli's voicelines).
In addition, Raiden was clearly making Scaramouche and eventually her puppet (the one we see most of the time in game) for the purpose stated by Yae. I don't believe Ei's grief is present here – I think it's more in the irrational way she saw these puppets as a means to an end to create her messed up idea of eternity. (And don't forget: Yae tells us this story, Yae takes her gnosis, and Yae is the one who taught her how to imbue herself into the sword that's inside of the puppet. While Yae is wrong about Ei's overall motivations re: the Fatui, I think it's safe to trust her understanding of the creation of Ei's puppet self.) How I read the Opulent set is that she thought he was flawed because he couldn't be engineered or controlled, and the emotions were proof of that. Ei wants to cut herself away from sentiment because she feels that is what hurt her sister, creating an intransient state. The puppet wasn't purely a puppet – and thus, it could not be specifically engineered or controlled in the way she eventually wanted.
Would the Gnosis itself be the one with the negative connotations or could one also assume that the way Dottore unlocked Scaramouche's power was by giving him a false heart that is filled with lies and deception as the fatui are ought to do? Especially a person like Dottore, also from previous artifacts we're told about stories that happened in the past, so could it not be said that the gnosis gave him emotions and the concept of that which is good or even gentle, the false heart whether it be a delusion or whatever Dottore needed to use to unlock Scaramouche's power is the actual thing that has the negative connotations? Like what are the Harbingers or the Fatui if not a group of people filled with lies, deception, curses, and hypocrisy? Not only that but it would also have no blessing from the gods themselves as the story tells us that they are using the bodies and parts of the dead gods to create such things, the complete opposite of what a gnosis is.
Pause; I'm going to go find Nathan and beat his butt!
Ok starting video again.
"responsible for Teppei's death" that's all I needed to know, gonna go find Nathan rn
Def scaling electro let's go!
Looking at other works by MiHoYo…generally speaking, the first successful attempt to resurrect/rebuild someone that seems to get a soul is the one that works. The problem is the resurrection is usually more of a reincarnation. They're like the person that they used to be, but even if they get the memories of that person back, they're still a new person, just with some of that previous person's biases and emotions. So…it's not only possible that's what she was doing, she might have even accidentally succeeded with her prototype, which would be why she didn't scrap him in the first place. I'll avoid going too far into the tin hat crossover theory rabbit hole from here though.
9:47 my name has teppie’s blood on it. Why is this name cursed
I heard an alternate interpretation of part of the husk set story that I found cool enough to be worth mentioning. This video suggests the heart being nothing but lies is pointing to a gnosis not being what we think. Another theory is that segment of story doesn't refer to his feelings on the actual gnosis he received from Yae, but that the fatui created a fake gnosis, something that is to a gnosis what a delusion is to a vision, and that is the heart he found full of lies, and lacking comparatively to the real one he was meant to house. This could also could open possible theories on why the gnosis are being collected, as having them would likely help make better fakes
Finally yanfie 😂
