This Is Genshin Impact's MOST Overused Advice And It's NOT Even Close…

This is not to say that “Pull who you like” is wrong. It’s just not really helpful in most cases and often time can leave people more frustrated then relieved. I think this is more appropriate for newer players but for those who are stuck with tough decisions it’s definitely more helpful to be more concrete.

  1. people should pull for a team, not just one unit. in the future, there will be lots of characters that overlap in terms of role that you can build an entire team with characters that you like. also, pull for a character that you can play. trust me, pulling for characters just because they're meta won't help you much in the Abyss if you don't know how to properly use them. play what's comfortable for you. Abyss isn't character-specific contrary to popular belief. Abyss that buffs Raiden will also buff other burst dps so you can play them if you don't like her

  2. Well I'm a person who cares about personality, liking and meta
And there is only one character i regret and
    that's yaemiko
I think i simped real hard and even to extend used my guaranteed when i last 50/50 on first hourof release lmao
But still im not like those stans who like something character wise and will defend meta wise
    Im her biggest critic thoa
She is solid A tier choice

  3. On my case i still use/play every 5* character that i pulled exept for Child(got him trying to get Rosaria)

Last time i skip Kazuha cu'z of Ayaka now gonna skip him again because of Yoimiya😂

i know he is fun to play i have him at my alt acc but i like Yoimiya more than him

  4. When I hear wish for who you want, i think of dps characters only but right now i have 2 dps and i am trying build a team around them, but it depends on the play style of the characters, but as kazuha, i just want use him a replacement for sucrose cause not c6 yet

  5. Personally I say this in the context of Abyss being clearable even by off-meta characters, it'll just take a bit of luck with weapons and artifacts (Yanfei and Noelle hypercarries are as off-meta as people can think of yet they still clear Abyss fine) and more importantly, time. Supports are also indispensable, but afaik the usual units avoided by non-meta people outside of Bennett, Xingqiu, and Kazuha are mostly hypercarries (Hu Tao, Ganyu, Shogun, etc.)

I would also recommend broadening horizons with the character demos, since having a few couple teams/units are great to have in your backpocket (in my case, Xiao and Diluc are my "backpocketed" hypercarries over my Ayato and Noelle). But if my gut feeling tells me that a character isn't for me, I don't pull for them regardless of strength. I don't let the anti-meta naysayers gaslight me into thinking that "I just want to be special," because I want to clear the game my way, and it's possible…just a little more tedious. More power to you if meta is your way, but get off-meta character mains off of the ever-popular tierlists

Also, 50-100 missed primos per 2 weeks isn't much if you're building up units

  6. Agreed
Unfortunately it looks like I'm not gonna be getting Kazuha since I lost the 50/50 and am out of pulls, but the point here is that I chose to go for him over Klee, despite me liking Klee more. This is because Kazuha is a good support for some of my favourite characters, like Hu Tao and Lisa, whereas Klee is just a weaker and (IMO) less fun to play version of Hu Tao, who I already have.

  7. yeah i agree because childe is my favourite character so naturally i built xiangling and pulled for kazuha to make him stronger. As much as i like kazuha i wouldnt have pulled for him if he didnt synergise well with childe. I had an opportunity to get zhongli who is one of my favs in terms of lore and character design but i disliked his playstyle and he wouldnt have made childe stronger. So yes pull for who you want but consider multiple factors like what you 'need'.

  8. After realizing that some actually ask cuz of meta I would state the character’s known pros and cons and end it with “ but do what feels right to you and your own account “ so basically giving them advice on meta while also telling them to pull for who they want in the end for that character that will boost their acc depending on what or who they have

  9. Yeah when you're F2P and like lots of characters, you have to be a bit stingy. It's not useful to pull for everyone you want – when you're just starting out, in particular, it's nice to know who you should be focusing on. It would have been helpful to get more advice like that – why do you want to chase this character? What do they do for your account? New players may want actual advice rather than pulling blindly and kicking the can down the road.

  10. its crazy like imagine you tell ppl "pull whoever you like" then they get their desired character then after playing it they're complaining "ahh i can't beat this content with this and that then they start to blame like damn i should never pull for this character but in reality its their skill issue lmao 🤣🤣

  11. some people may regret pulling "what they like" i mean the characters that they dont really really love and willing and to be loyal to.just choose for e.g. pull zhongli and hutao as your best waifu and husbando if u have dedication. when u pull other characters u just learn from light to medium level of theorycraft and evaluate characters for your account. skip the unnesscary main dps, pull the human-right supports like yelan and kazuha and even c1r1 or c2 on yelan(c0fav or iron sting kazu is good enough)and u dont have to spend 648RMB (100 usdfor 8080 gems).u got interested into a main dps cuz his personality or story? maybe its a temporary as you may forget the love to him later on,just skip.if "what you like" is a support like kazu it is a great pull its much less benchable than main dps and you will often/always find a team for him to fit.鉄打的輔助,流水的C.多抽輔助少抽C.C常有人权輔助不常有.U cant even catch up investing mora books and farm atrifacts if u pull too much main dps.just dont pull "what u like" youre gonna regret it.Go to watch banner leaks from Uncle chasm and do proper primogem planning.

  12. Nice video! Powerful unit is not always about a dps, but also other characters, weapons, artifacts, reactions preferred for a team, etc.
"whoever character you want" for each people will be different. Its too broad and will lead to dissappointment most of time.
The better spesific advice for each people will depend on what's required for said person asking.

  13. Pull whatever u like will be always the safest response for the new unexperience gamer. They need to have fun first in exploration and grasping the mechanics by using the 5* they like. But if they want to go full straight meta for the abbys there is only 4 all around best unit 5* IMHO that I can advice. Prioritize by pulling Raiden(ace killer) aim for her c2 then put her in the boss team. Then pull ayato for the mob team. Then get ayaka(always paired with diona) for 2nd dps/burst support for raiden or ayato. And if you really don't like jean or sucrose for second vv support get kazuha for great cc/elem buff. For the 4* don't mix bennett and diona. Xiangling is always better with bennett. Xinqui is xinqui. You can switch out xiangling with jean/sucrose for second vv.

  14. Yeah completely agree. As I dive in even further into the game, I learned about the game elemental reaction mechanics and different team comps for certain characters. I started to realize that "pulling for who ever you want" really is a stupid advice, at least for me. In my standing point, I play the characters that I love AND work for the best team for them. No, I am not the guy who cares about the meta and whatnot, and Yes, I want the characters I played to have their max potential for what I work for them. I used freeze Ayaka on the first half, and a Physical Fischl on the second half. Tho Phys Fish is not like the best team in the meta, but I manage to make it work with some superconduct and Benny buff. Cause let's be real here, even you are playing an underrated char, (amber, Lisa, etc) you atleast want to see them do some dmg with the right reactions instead of "random bullshit go brr, and I'm happy with it". If you said the latter, ur just lying. Why would you use a Gorou, when ur main dps is Hu Tao. Smh 😒

  15. Meh, I would still say pull who you like. Most newbs just want to play with the characters that appeals to them one way or another. And why would that be a bad thing? They can learn the stuff on their own by their own motivations. If they specifically say they want meta/strong units then my recommendation would change obviously.

  16. I agree with Walrus's take on the matter to an extent. Although in a community with a "small vocal" hate and unreasonably high expectations on character performance. That complains about easliy overlooked problems within charaters kits. A plethora of meta slaves preaching you can't do this this way and this is the only way to do that. That's not stopping crangy mindset players for shitting on low tier favorites. I'm just tired of players shittng on other player's mains or favorites, it's sad at this point. For example, Xinyan and Thoma mains and plenty of others deal with this badly. The whole Yae feels clunky to play, Koko doesn't crit drama. The hate can just easliy be overlook and get over it. At some point of the drama I gave up. That's why my biggest advice to anyone will always be pull for who you like. At the end of Genshin's lifespan, that's only thing everyone will have left and share with one another, did you play your favorites characters to your heart's content? and the memory of that enjoyment.

On that note: PULL FOR WHO YOU LIKE 😈

  17. Personally, I like to have the best of both worlds. I think it’s fun to pull for characters who are strong, make teams that play to everyone’s strengths, and whatnot. But I also have to like them, particularly if they are a main DPS or are going to have a whole team centered around them.

Case in point: I love tartaglia and am going to get him on his rerun, even though I already have ayato and could probably do without him. Also, if Scaramouche becomes playable, I will drop everything to get him even if he’s not meta just because I like him.

  18. Same for building units, especially 4*.
I don’t like Xiangling, her character is nice and funny but that’s all, to me.
I don’t like Raiden National, too much braindead for my tastes.
But I finally got XL C4 during 2.7 (AR59…), I had resources, good sets of Emblem. Not pieces, entire good full sets.

I’m not always in the mood or having enough free time for trying new teamcomps, strategies, fight the clock, upload runs on YT, or some enemies lineups are simply annoying.

So, if I just want my primos, now I unleash Rational with Yelan, melt everything and grab my humble primos.

Edit: but finishing Cryo Hypostasis with just Guoba is pretty satisfying, gotta admit that.

  19. Personally, I pull for who i like in a sense of if i like their personality, if i like their design. I don't care about my own Abyss, my own teams, i don't have a stable team where i make a single character shine and sometimes i even have teams with 2 dps units. But for other people, like you said, I ask them questions and recommend who they should pull for and why. I try to give them tips and advice, even if i'm not that educated on the best teams. I think the "pull for who you like and drop the meta" isn't helpful.. You can have fun with meta characters, they can be great for characters who aren't in the meta anymore etc. I think people should get actual advice when it comes to wishing.

  20. "Pull for who you like" only applies to 5 stars. No one says this for 4 stars because with 4 stars, you can get them in one roll, or you can get them in 200 rolls. So you can't exactly "pull" for them. Most people aren't whales and aren't willing to get character(s) they don't want to get a character they do want.
And when it comes to 5 stand and 4 star synergy, you'll eventually get that 4 star, either from rolling on the standard/weapon banner, or that 4 star will finally appear on the banner with a 5 star you like. There's seriously no rush to get "synergistic teammates" atm because the only tough content out right now is Spiral Abyss. Hu Tao is still perfectly usable in the overworld and 99% of battle-based events without Xingqiu. And then Xingqiu eventually did show up as a free unit for the Inazuma Book event.

NEVER roll for a 5 star that you don't want. Why? So you can have an extra star in your Spiral Abyss run? Spiral Abyss is so voitial that it doesn't matter. Ayaka-Freeze teams were dominating the Abyss for months, and then a simple Cryo floor appeared and Freeze teams dropped in viability massively. Just like with 4 starts, you'll also eventually get an Abyss rotation that your 8-man comp will stomp into paste.

  21. For me it's "Get the character that really shines for you THEN pull who you like" for me that character is Eula.

Despite being of the opinion that Kazuha is overrated I want to get Kazuha but i want Eula constellations way more.

But i can get him if i want because somehow losing 50/50 is something that just doesn't happen on my account lately.
(The last time i lost a 50/50 was on Hu Tao's first banner when ironically i paid my first Qiqi tax but then Hutao came 20 pulls later which is crazy to me..)

I don't think Kazuha would fit in my Eula/Noelle/Albedo/Raiden team.

But he'd fit in any other team if i needed to do fancy pants swirly boys in elemental teams like all the kids do these days but fortunately i don't. Superconduct is nice to have but in my team i don't really need. (My c1 Eula has 30% extra phys dmg on demand.)
