The Moon, False Sky and Sheltered Eternity | Genshin Impact Theory, Lore and Speculation

What is wrong with the Moon in Teyvat? Why does it not act in the way we expect? We will begin to scratch the surface of this mystery in this video as we investigate fables of the Moon from mysterious figures, murmurs of a false sky from Scaramouche and mentions of a Sheltered Eternity from Dainsleif. What is Celestia’s goal? Is it suppressing humanity? What could it be hiding.

  1. This is the first part of a series of videos, so I will expand upon things relating to the Moon, the Goddesses, the Firmament as well as all the books I mention.

There appears to be a bit of artefacting with my voice audio, this only occurred after being uploaded to youtube. I'm using new equipment so I'm still trying to work out the best way to master the audio, hopefully it wont be too noticeable/distracting for people.

BGM list in in the description if anybody is curious.

  2. Wow! This is absolutely well done! It’s great to know about this because whenever I play, I always look at the moon and tell myself, “why are there no lunar phases?” I guess this is a good way to look at it. I will definitely remember this theory for future chapters.

  3. I also find out this in game cause I also thought the moon was very suspicious. Where I stood was on the top of the tower in Stormterror’s Lair, and at a certain time, you can see the moon go over Celestia (I also try it with the sun). This means that Teyvat and Celestia don’t share the same sky, so it’s all a lie. Also about the stars, I switch the time to 00:00, and the stars align like the shape of a cage.

  4. Is it racism if this all sounds more legitimate when read in a British accent? I also like that you clearly outlined what is and is not speculation.

With the Sheltered Eternity line, I really thought you were going to talk about the Matrix theory.

On the note of hilichurls, the basic description seems to say that they were present even before Khaenri’ah’s fall, but that also doesn’t preclude that Khaenri’ah’s citizens were also transformed into them.

I also really liked that you portrayed Celestia as not necessarily evil but not very benevolent either.

All in all, the production value is insane. Thanks for doing these lore videos.

  5. Rather fittingly with Teyvat appearing to be an artificial creation and roughly translating to Ark, you can then link it back to the Fire Moth "project Ark" from the previous era of the Honkai Impact main universe that was designed to seek a new world for the human genome but was deemed a failure when they lost all contact. We also know that artificial intentional bubble universes are possible because of The Seed Of Sumeru and the idea of "being a snow globe submerged in water" fits the metaphorical idea of the Quantum Sea perfectly (even though in practice it's not actually "water")

  6. judging by mondstad's size if would more translate to "moon town"
we germans use city town and village acording to size infra structure and location
even though there only is Stadt(city/town) and Dorf (village) on german
but city would translate to Großstadt (big town)

  7. Given that the devs set up Celestia to be possible to triangulate to an exact distance from launch instead of a fixed image suggests they are definitely not lazy when it comes to representation of objects in the sky.
