  1. you guys forget the TCG is pvp right if the primogems are not enough then get all the chest on every region and all the open world quest and char quest even the hangout events

  2. 10. We dont "need" pvp lol
    9. Its not needed at all and we already meet specific units during events they are related to.
    8. Fixed…
    7. Like every gacha ? Also we already have a good amount of variety when it comes to dailies lol.
    6. Hoyo is working on that, we got 2 units from Sumeru and no guarantee that its over.
    5. There is a new region every year, Fontaine is coming in around 2 months..Also they already introduce regions "little by little", we got the last piece of Sumeru in April.
    4. Ganyu is the top dps ? That article comes from last year …like before sumeru ??
    3. Fair..?
    2. Fair
    1. Pretty decent if you ask me. OR there are worst cases than genshin…

Not even a mention of the lack of endgame ? Bruh

  3. Primogems are too expensive, $100 doesn’t even give me 1 secured character and that is some royal BS, I know gachas are like this but it is sickening how I am not able to get a character with that money

  4. As a genshin player that has played the game for 1.5+ year(s), the person that made that article chose some of the worst points. Hell, most of their points weren't even actual problems with the game. It's insane to me how he didn't mention how it takes forever for characters to get a rerun, how hoyoverse refuses to add a new banner that has older characters so we can have less old characters rerunning in the banners. Or how we are getting more things to grind in yet hoyoverse refuses to give us more resin so we can grind at least a little bit more. They also could've talked about how hoyoverse refuses to add any new combat endgame (combat endgame is literally the only good endgame they could make), like simulated universe but in genshin. They also refuse to rerun old events, or they aren't able to because they already removed them from the files. I could go on but i dont feel like typing a longer essay.

  5. Both Genshin Impact and Tower of Fantasy have Excellent Waifus Excellent combat and Gameplay. Why argue which is better?
Also sorry I haven't been in your comments section lately stix. I'm taking care of a lot of paperwork and wills after my mother's passing im so stressed beyond belief. God I either need to get decent at PC or try to learn knowledge on finding something to keep me busy and entertained. When you're old and stressed you wouldn't believe the unimaginable difficulty on trying to find something decent to entertain your mind.

  6. The guy is right about gacha rates being terrible. With so many 5-star characters out, how much money do you need to spend to get the repeat copies you need for each character? It's insane.

  7. Wait, just hear me out: Genshin PvP, but everyone is locked to a randomly determined, rotating roster of C0 characters equipped only with starting weapons and no artifacts. But to balance that out, levels and skills are all as maxed out as possible.

  8. There's a video by Necrit who played the game for 700 hours and gave a very in depth analytical break down of what Genshin is doing well, and what they're just absolutely failing at. As someone who played Genshin day in and day out until recently, I can argue with none of his points – and I feel it's a much better informative piece on the struggles of Genshin than this article.

In my personal opinion, arguing with his points is just huffing on the copium, and not wanting to succumb to the sunken cost fallacy and buyers remorse that will inevitably set once the rose tinted glasses have been taken off the individuals face, and they can see the game from a neutral perspective.

Also, I just noticed this article was published in August of 2022, so this definitely is nowhere near judging the game in it's current version, although, not much has changed once you complete your quests, it's just the same daily chores.

  9. Hi Stix, knowing that you are a busy content creator, playing and reviewing a lot of games, I can understand it’s hard to keep up with Genshin but if you do get a renewed interest in it then don’t worry to much about Artifacts. Honestly unless you are planning to do vids on meta builds for Abyss, you can get by with any combination of artifacts if done in a reasonably sensible way. I just usually go with Gladiators on most of my sword/claymore/Polearm characters and Wonder’s Troupe on Catalyst/Bow characters and they do just fine. Just leveling the artifacts levels is the main thing which is relatively easy after playing for a while especially after they added items to help level them in game.

I know you haven’t experienced Sumeru and not sure if you completed everything in Inazuma, but it’s worth it to get to Sumeru because that’s where things get a lot more interesting and fun both in story and mechanics as well as new areas.
Mondstadt and Liyue are nice and fun when starting but simple enough to be introduced to the World and story … Inazuma took it up a notch, at least from my perspective. I know some had more expectations from Inazuma but overall I found it interesting enough with some new mechanics and expanding on environment puzzles and such.
Sumeru is where Genshin really shines and gets more in depth both in story and expansiveness of the world as well as mechanics, at least for me I see it that way. The verticality of the regions is a plus. Just be prepared for some long world quest that are somewhat necessary to do to open up these new areas even more …. Such as the Aranara quest line in the forest area as well as other parts of the desert region but they are worth it.

As for primogems, I never found myself struggling too much to attain them that is if as a player you take part in all the events, big and small, that Hoyo puts out in every version update. Hoyo even does a lot of web events to easily get primogems. I understand some may not have the time to invest in every single event, in game or web, but if they do it’s worth it.
What I feel bad for is for new players and or part time players is when they miss some of these story events because not only do they afford the player more opportunities to get primogems or even unique weapons and items but also expand on the story, especially stories of characters or specific areas and past events helping to flesh out the overall story of game making it even more immersive.
Anyway, If you like story and do have a renewed interest in picking up the game again I wish you well in catching up with the game. 👍

  10. pvp would not be good the best we have so far is the TCG player vs player
but people will complain about anything they can get their hands on
    7. that the normal to like 99% of games
    6. rumors that might change when fontaine comes out or later on but this is just a rumor take it with a grain of salt
    4. does not need to change people pay to get c6 character so of course it will be more powerful then normal one and 4 stars can be good as a 5 star like sucrose and many other
    1. other gacha has much worse
but clearly whoever wrote this dont either play the game or play very little or just taking from what other people say
we still have like 4 or more region still to go so alot of things can be improved by then

  11. genshin has pretty bad pulls
I'm not gonna say how many accounts I have, but I will say this
my main account on avg takes until 75-82 to pull
I have NEVER pulled early and worst of all on that account I have failed 11 straight 50/50s
meanwhle an alt that I consider a god account at least in terms of my luck, had 11 different 5 star characters and x8 5 star weapons before it was AR 53.
The luck in this game varies from account to account. Either you hit it big or you just have an avg account.

  12. Seems that whoever wrote this article hasnt played genshin in sometime. Mona and ayaka sprint? That was fixed some patches ago. Standard banner rant? All gacha have a standard banner, characters are being added, recently tignari and dehya. Regions, yeah there are only 4 right now however every other expansion adds new areas to each region, a LOT to explore. Ganyu top dps and kazuha best support? Dendro broke everything, kequing is now good with hyperbloom and quicken, and nahida most likely the best support. Not enough f2p primos? Sure, they could be more generous but there are ton of events and each new area gives a lot of primos for exploration. Gacha %, seems 3% is the standard now.

  13. So most of these complaints are extremely pointless and not worth viewing the game as bad over. However I personally do think Genshin is bad myself. It showed a lot of promise and failed to deliver in my opinion. With no true endgame and the vast majority of the content being extremely easy, min maxing is pointless because no content ever requires such extreme builds to clear. Content release is extremely slow and even when they release major patches or a new region it can be completed in a few hours without much effort. Hoyo constantly goes on about it being story focused, but honestly the story isn't really that great and is extremely bloated with subpar dialogue and fetch quests, culminating in maybe 10 minutes of good moments after hours of tedious content and pointless conversations. The focus has been placed instead of on combat to be more intent on pointless minigame events that are crappier versions of other game genres (tower defense, rhythm games, coin collectors, races, etc), almost none of which are actually fun and just something you have to do if you want the rewards. The compensation for events, quests, updates, etc are extremely minimal and without spending you have very little chance of obtaining characters without skipping a major swath of others (which in a character collector gacha game, getting a bunch of awesome characters is supposed to be one of the main points). Paimon is annoying plague to experience and should have been literally eaten as emergency rations ages ago to save us from the horror of hearing her annoying prattling. And as was stated here as well, the artifact system RNG is atrocious (you mentioned your Eula, personally for one crit damage piece for Hutao I spent over a year farming, using 200+ resin a day every single day, and still never got a single one so gave up.)
People can praise it up and down, it can continue to rake in all the money in the world, and it's fanbase can defend it till the end of time, but I personally cannot view this as a worthwhile game. I quit for the second time a few months ago and am perfectly fine to never go back. It was a massive waste of time and money for something that brought me way more frustration and annoyance than enjoyment and good times

  15. Tof jumping and movement is way better (on dry ground yes not the stupid under water junk) as where genshin is so janky on jumping just look how horrible movement is to this day.

Anyway the dailies is so bad in genshin agreed

  16. Genshins rates might be bad but its definitely not the worst. As someone that used to be a whale, I have dabbled in all sorts of ways to get primos and I have realized the best way to get primos is 1. play the game and do the events, and 2. spend 5 dollars a month to get the welkins pack. 90 primos a day, plus the 60 from dailies, thats about 30 pulls a month and literally all you have to do is log in and spend 5 minutes. Then include the events and casual exploration, pretty sure you are getting pretty close to pity around that time and thats every month. Will this get you every single character? No. But you can pretty much guarantee a character you want every other month or so. Also, if you want to go above and beyond, the welkin gives you 300 genesis crystals. Save those every month, dont use them. Keep stocking them up and you can get an outfit for a character that you want. So many people want instant gratification. Just put in a little work and patience and it's not so bad.

  17. Guys, keep in mind that this aricle was published in July 2022 so it's pretty dang old! Regardless, here are my takes on these points:

10: We already have PvP in the form of Genius Invokation TCG: Heated Battle Mode, allowing players to compete with their friends and with strangers alike. A traditional, MMO-like PvP arena mode would simply go against the main principles and design elements of the game (which is my polite way of saying that it'd become a motherf*cking dumpster-fire on arrival) as it'd alienate players who don't spend a fortune on microtransactions and there'd be like 6 chars out of the 70 that'd win all the time

9: I agree with this but at the same time I can also live without it. Not to mention that it'd pretty weird to see these characters alongside all the other NPCs in their usual spot while your on a misson that involves them helping you in another city, several kilometers away

8: This one got patched in v3.0.0, after the article was made. But I still think that alternate sprints are one of the worst mechanics in the game: it's clunky, takes forever to attack after you let go of it and it literally breaks the game, if you mash the direction buttons or wiggle the left control stick, you can sprint anywhere without consuming stamina including over water. This glitch has been known since CBT1 (that was 4 years ago btw feel old yet? :D) and yet they never took it out (they're afraid of backlash perhaps, 'nerfing' gacha chars after release usually comes with that but at the same time there are no instances where using this is compulsory, in fact, it makes certain hard challenges trivial)

7: Repetitive daily missions are characteristical for most gacha games, though I wish there was a toggle to select what type of commissions you'd be interested in: Do you prefer escorting slime balloons or you'd like to help the people in town? Maybe looking for more combat, sth like that. And PLEASE, prioritize commisions that unlock hidden achievements upon completion, it took me 2 whole years to unlock everything in Mondstadt alone…

6: Got your wish, now we're getting more and more 5-Stars on the stabby (Dehya still felt like a weird addition though, like why her?? She has the same element and weapon type as Diluc and we're still yet to get a 5-star Geo character of any weapon type there or a polearm character of any element)

5: The title is simply wrong: we got three countries in two years. Sure the wait between Dragonspine and Inazuma felt like an eternity but they learned their lesson. Since then, there's only been a handful of patches that didn't come with a new explorable area (2.3, 2.7, 3.2, 3.3, 3.5, 3.7 are the ones I can name off my head)

4: Are you asking for certain characters to become clones of each other? Then why would anybody spend money on obtaining Ganyu if she were to play exactly like Amber. She'd be just a pretty skin at that point 😀

3: Learn how to save, they will not give out more Primogems in general as it would upset paying players and hurt their bottom line. It's a finite resource that you need to learn how to spend wisely. When you receive your paycheck, you don't spend the whole thing immediately, right? Same thing applies here: don't wish as soon as the counter goes over 160, only roll on characters that you'd love to have and don't waste it on resin refills and BP levels. I know that feeling when you can't defeat a hard boss that you need resources from and after several hours you finally find someone in Co-Op who's willing to help you and you enter into this mindset of "Okay, we gotta get as much shit as possible as this might be the only time this person is here to help!" and then you run out of standard resin, then you run out of fragile resin and then you run out of primogems. Yeahhh…

2: I agree, though I also think that Teyvat should not become a land of handouts: if you get a god-tier artifact on 1st try everytime then you'll eventually run out of things to spend your resin on

1: There are other gacha games out there where the odds are far more brutal. Genshin by comparison is pretty fair imo

Hope you enjoyed reading this book lol

  19. Lol tbh hsr is not an improvement they have a lot of low grade artifacts as for the characters power balance suggestions that a really bad idea tof has that on global and it makes it pointless even for people like me who have spent a lot of time and money 4k to date after almost 8 months of playing you only have one option that whaling on meta like insane amount spending to get anything good my characters are mediocre because I haven’t spent 25-60k on outfitting them I’ve got 4k spread across 33 of 35 characters as for the pvp idea meh tof has it it’s a joke it’s supposedly balanced and matches you with similar characters and stats that’s a lie it’s pitted me when I was level 45 against players at level 68 with double my stats the only thing that would even out pvp on Genshin is if all relics were disabled upon entering combat

  20. The quests should really have an auto-skip option. Not only that, the traveller's response should have an auto reply function instead of clicking on the options every time. Seriously, it wastes a lot of time just running through the quests for the sake of primogems or other quest rewards. Time is money lol.

  21. I find it funny people always bashing on Tower of Fantasy while they do completely forget that Genshin copied a lot from Breath of the Wild. While Tower of Fantasy has such unique areas and mechanics even an underwater world or the Amusement Park (which Genshin now copies soon). But it seems it is always a sin if something small happens on Tower of Fantasy side but if it is the sacred holy Genshin cult no one cares.

Genshin "was" my life and I adored it but this company gave a shit and let us down continuously. I waited and waited and nothing changed literally. It only got worst. I played since day 1 up to Sumeru every day but I am done. Right now I only care about Main story which happens 3-4 times a year for an hour max. each which is a joke. But I am done with all the nonsense the rest of this game is. The Soundtrack is the only part which never disappointed. And the reason above are stupid, true and I also do not care about endgame or pvp and honestly 99% of Tower of Fantasy players do not care about PVP because it is not worth it and only a tiny part of the game.

But the issues with Genshin are far beyond 10 reason. They only care about new players and mobile and all the rest have to suffer. NPC look all the same, shops are dead even since launch. I mean why even having a blacksmith shop but only selling crap? None of the old areas got improved and worked on later onward to give some love or respawn puzzles or chests to keep the areas alive. Old areas are dead but crappy party games are everywhere.

Stories are dragged on forever with paragraphs of absolute blabla with no value to read over and over again. For the money they make lip sync is still a joke. Characters are talking but their mouths already stopped moving. Even cheaper Gacha games managed this better. Dailies are a pain because boring. No Qol changes. They talk about Gacha but all we get are the downsides of it but no benefits like skip stages you already did 100 million times. Or a really daily log in with good rewards not chicken. Anniversary – I do not even wann start here.

The thing is the list goes on. I collected surveys for 2 years already 3 massive sites long. Same a friend of mine and none of the issues on it was ever fixed. That's why I gave up even care about the surveys anymore because Hoyoshmoyo gives a damn about it. Hotta (Tower of Fantasy) really listens. Sure not all was fixed but they work on it and really do something. And in Tower of Fantasy each character is unique and each weapon is freaky and unique and what about Genshin? Claymore, Sword, Bow, Catalyst blablabla….

The issue is people are already so blind Hoyoshmoyo could literally serve them dogshit on a plate and they would clap but on the otherside Tower of Fantasy could improve as much as they want people already got their opinion without even giving the game a real chance.

  22. PVP on Genshin is not good. It'll be unfair. Artifacts grinding is so bad. I agree with Stix, it takes months to grind for good artifacts for each character and its tiring. My world quest and character quest have piled up because most of the time I play, its wasted on farming. Gacha is not as terrible as many will say, because FGO is said to be a lot worse and Honkai Impact 3' s pull are much higher, like 2800 crystals for 10 pulls unlike Genshin and Star Rail 1600 primos and jades along with the pity system that you can carry as well. Thought, Genshin is stingy on giving primogem rewards compared to other gacha games I know.

  23. Genshin co-op is ok, but if it was an MMO I think it would struggle to run without horribly bugging out like the early days of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. I'm honestly glad it's not a MMO and PvP would be unbalanced as hell with the only "good" players as you said that build the meta and just whales in general. I'd never let people in my world if PvP was implemented into the gachas I play. I know Epic Seven says it has PvP, but it's not True PvP, it's just AI using your characters. Lately I do play Genshin alone cause I don't trust randoms not to steal my materials and besides a few friends in different time zones, nobody else I know plays Genshin and besides my brother I only know streamers who still play both Genshin and Honkai Star Rail. I believe some of my friends are waiting for Honkai Star Rail to come to console at the very least

  24. 1:17 perhaps the writer of this dumb article suggested PvP because he knows Genshin won't last this long if it had one. Sabotaging wetdreams at its finest. And if we entertain the thought, I assure you, THE ONE WHO GETS FROZEN FIRST WILL LOSE. It will be a freezefest and Combat PvP will undoubtedly be Ayaka+Yelan wank.
