I AM SHOCKED! iPhone 13 Pro Max – Genshin Impact FPS/Power Performance Test

Since many asked, I did a longer 21 minute FPS retest for the iPhone 13 Pro max with Genshin Impact. Check out the video: https://youtu.be/j5SYE51mviU

In this video I will be performing a Genshin Impact FPS test. This test is geared to helping consumers get an idea of the current performance of the iPhone 13 PM with this specific game. Again, Genshin isn’t a benchmark and should not be considered as such. Genshin Impact is known to have optimization issues and therefore, isn’t a reflection of this device’s true performance. With that being said, as usual, I will include a real-time FPS overlay for those interested in watching the test. I will also show FPS, GPU, Power Consumption, and device temperature averages at the end of this video; be sure to definitely check that out! Last, I do want to also note, that I conducted this test in 25c ambient temperature. Thanks for watching!

Tech Jargon:

CPU – Central Processing Unit. The processor is the “brain” of a device. It’s what handles the instructions of software apps. All phones have a processor of some kind. it may be integrated into the main cell phone chip, or be a separate computer chip.

GPU – Graphics Processing Unit. The part of a device’s circuitry that handles the display and animation of visual elements. GPU usually handles all mobile gaming.

  1. I have 13 Pro Max too, also tried playing the game max settings but it's so laggy, I played co-op for like an hr and it started dropping fps after just 5 mins so I think that's more demanding than single player? Either way, from some play testing I think I can only choose between the best looking graphics at 30fps or medium at 60fps.

  2. So…
I know you mentioned the disclaimer that "this is not a benchmark and has optimization issues", but I feel that's really true of any game they use to "benchmark" CPUs/GPUs.

That being said, the iPhone outperforms a 4800H's vega 7 graphics on an HP Omen while plugged in!

I think the performance on the 4700h is similar to the A14 and the A15 spells amazing things for the Apple M2 when it comes out. I will be interested in seeing the Zen 3D w/ 12 RDNA 2 CUs verses an M1 & M2.
