I know there are people who are disappointed that we didn't actually get to see Apep, but I honestly loved how they were presented here. It's so ominous but cool. There's something truly unsettling about seeing this massive silhouette in the distance through the sandstorm. Imagine it in person, and how small and insignificant you would feel facing it. I believe keeping their appearance vague was the right way to go here. It preserves that feeling, as well as the mystery surrounding Teyvat's dragons.
Thats a dragon almost the size of Kralkatorrik from Guild Wars 2. Pity we couldn't get to fight that xD

If only we can bring not only Nahida but also Venti, Zhongli and Raiden to meet Apep. Their reaction will be interesting because they meet something beyond their reach and capable one shot them.
