  1. thanks for the reaction! this was definitely a fun shock for me when it was released lol

some minor explanation, with mavel references if that works, but natlan has a bit of a technological advancement over the other nations due to phlogiston in the same way wakanda is advanced due to the assistance of vibranium and Xilonen would be a bit like Shuri, an inventor in phlogiston

  2. "been out for a couple days now" was this recorded months ago? lol
The tech is explained away as using a unique power source from that nation, but it's a little hand-wavy since export was never even mentioned.

  3. Just to be clear although she does have a DJ table (A less modern looking one), all those scenes with the led screen behind her is much more of a ""thing in her head"" represented in the trailer. So no, there isn't any actual rave with led screens and neon lights in the game lmao. Even If there's some pretty crazy stuff in Natlan

  4. Love the new style for the Trailers, feels very refreshing

(Also a lot of stylistic choice too, if you saw the Kinich one with all the Arcade Games and so)

    Explanation time

Once upon a time on Natlan,

there lived an advanced dragon civilization, they use

    Phlogiston as their power source

They died, but the phlogiston remained

So humans inherit it Ajaw is for example a projection in

    Kinich bracelet,

also its not his true form (Ajaw)

    also what is Phlogiston

is Teyvat's primordial form of energy

Also we know from Xilonen how she crafted for Chasca the Gun, the Sunglasses from Mavuika and much more
She is like the Smith fron Natlan

Now 5.2 time (where the technology Ideas and so most likely comes from)

we get a Information how they inspire the technology from the Ashen City (Also something from the ancient time of the dragons, they was very advanced in technology stuff and such)

Also a draft where they did some Experiment stuff for example, also where was written:

The experiment has failed. As expected, the technology of Ochkanatlan from the Aschenstadt is not so easy to copy.

Also he reasoning it why it failed.

With Phologiston you Can do a lot of things then with it

Also yeah you can see it like Wakanda

  5. Hi.
GI veteran, lore master, ex-employe here. I know u dont follow Hoyo games, so i must tell for u, from my respect, as one of ur old fan.
GI finished at 4.2 and anything after that is technically filler and it has nothing to do with the GI story, world, characterization, combat and any other future contents that GI represented. The "Natlan – Nation of War" as an idea's origin, did not existed since the beginnings. The current version of this idea is a "solution" from the company to give out content for the hungry fans. This is why these charcters feels off from what u have expected. If u are curious about "Snezhnaya", then dont be. For the "Snezhnaya" project, they will use beta/un-wanted/not enough good characters from HSR's test phase. All of the "Natlan" characters are originally belongs to ZZZ, and they did some slightly changes on them to look like GI characters. The company for months now, totally focused on HSR and ZZZ. They did some slight improvements on GI to looks like they "listen" to the fan base, but at the end of the day, in their eyes GI is nothing but an expired game.
I highly recommend for time saving and less frustration to skip GI's gameplay and content, until the END.

  6. The closer the game gets to the end the more things are revealed. Genshin is not a medieval game, it's a science fiction

The first god in the game is an alien who came to the planet and brought humans with him, Dragons had spaceships computers and IA, and the underground civilization that existed 500 years ago analyzed alien technology and called aliens to come the planet several times

  7. The following factors have all contributed to "Natlan is different":
    * Moderate but unilateral isolation: Natlan is in no way closed up but is neither geographically convenient nor on the way to much of anywhere. It does have some role in international commerce and does get tourism, but the metaphysical system which among other things regulates the movement of "souls" was entirely broken very long ago and roughly reconstructed in a very altered form. As a result of this, no native-born resident of Natlan can leave the nation without significant costs both communal and individual: it wouldn't be too wrong to say anybody born in Natlan who leaves is permanently cursed, and that's the good ending here. So while Natlan does receive word of what's going on in other nations and the (re)invention of photography means they have some idea of the culture and art of other places, they're pretty much on their own.

    * Perpetual wartime economy: Natlan happens to be the physical area on the surface that has been most hit by the Abyss, and the Nation of War has embraced its role. It is not true that every single citizen of Natlan has the natural talent to be a warrior, but every single citizen has tried over the course of their childhood to become one. They have an uncommon take on the role of legendary ancestral figures in history: these are the people who proved more of the potential everybody could achieve if they just try hard enough. This is combined with Genshin Impact's usual idealistic approach to translating all real-world cultural influences to make systems work that wouldn't in real life, so…

    * Vastly reduced costs to individuals and to society from perpetual war: While Natlan is unusual in its Archons, now all chosen from mortal contests, choosing not to undergo apotheosis (it is possible for somebody gaining the role of Archon to redesign their avatar to a degree which entirely changes their type of life, and while being a god is immensely more convenient for performing some of the intrinsic duties of an Archon Natlan is damaged in precisely the way to render these duties unmanageable) lacking innate divine foresight does not mean they didn't consider the future and were not very much aware of the problems of endless war. While games and contests are indeed everywhere and minor intertribal conflicts – not featuring an entire tribe but more along the lines of clans or even self-assembled "sports teams" – are encouraged as a way to sharpen skills and spark spiritual flames of contention then sacrificed in a more palatable emulation of the Aztec beliefs regarding the sun, the actual war against the Abyss is designed from the ground up to preserve both people and culture. The particular way in which Natlan is screwed up allows the souls of its natives under very specific conditions to be retrieved and resurrected, and only those resurrectable by the Pyro Archon are intentionally sent to the frontlines to attack the Abyss (although this doesn't dictate where the Abyss picks to launch its own attacks). While PTSD certainly exists it's well understood, despite everybody wanting to be a hero there's little bullying or shaming of the less martial or disabled (I won't say none but much less than we'd expect to see), and the basic concept of "it isn't a victory if we have to destroy our values to win" is typically respected by leaders at all levels.

The tl;dr of the above: culture and art aren't being stifled by the need for combat, but are instead benefiting from the tech boost.

    * In RPG terms we've hit the "airship unlocked" point of the story, where being able to get from point A to point B is no longer supposed to be a challenge. While you don't actually need the supercharged travel powers Natlan characters are coming out with (and the "main character" is also getting region-specific upgrades allowing keeping up with them within Natlan – which are also not really necessary), the developers no longer care whether being able to conveniently go up cliffs, cross water, or fly is balanced with other characters. (On the very small chance this game's development continues into a New Game Plus mode, I'd like to hope it'll include a lengthy way to further upgrade all the older characters; they're all powerful enough but some of their kits do feel less unique.)

  8. Xilonen is a crafter and a smith
She's a lazy person who likes to sleep on top of trees (she's half ocelot)
But she does her job well
In lore she's a smith who creates ancients names, ancient names are important for the people of natlan…
Because of these names, They can resurrect natlan people after their death
Gameplay wise: she's a buffer like kazuha + a healer
And for the futuristic stuff…. Just like them or ignore them cuz Mavuika is coming and she has a motorbike 😂

  9. The controversy was her dance was based off someone without crediting but this was before she was officially announced then they changed her dance in release and now it shouldn't be an issue. But people was upset that they took a dance from a popular clip.

  10. If she will be as character from Honkai Star Rail or Zenles zone zero, i will definitely pull, but as for genshin… I do not exactly like her gameplay feeling, and Natlan characters just stand out too much for Teyvat for me, so skip for now. But the trialer is really well done and has a cool vibe. Haha, I was shocked this same when I see this, even playing regularly for looong time.

  11. The best way to explain it feeling different or more advanced is like Wakanda from Black Panther. The Natlan region has insane technology because of what used to exist there in the past. So even though it looks primitive mountain and desert region, the tech they use is head and shoulders above the other regions. I dont want to spoil the story if you play it.

  12. Simple explanation, Natlan has basically been revealed as the region that's tied to almost everything in lore that goes beyond the normal fantasy elements other regions had presented themselves to be as. Between the natural power source of Phlogiston(primordial energy that was used to make elemental energy) and having been originally inhabited by a race of advanced dragon people, Natlan has a rich history and lore behind literally everything that's been shown. So much so that its caused controversy and been accused of not just immersion breaking but even ruining the game for some people. In reality, most of the technological jumps that we've seen in the new region have been tied strictly to either recreation or weaponry and not industrialization, unlike Fontaine. So as crazy as it may appear to be at first, the "modern" look Natlan has when it comes to whatever tech is seen only exists in one way, same as the last region

  13. Basically, Natlan has a form of power called Phlogiston ehich, can be used as basically electricity wothout wires. Also, there was once an Ancient Dragon civilization in Natlan which was technologically advanced. Xilonen hereself is basically a mechanic. She created her own DJ thingy, a drill for Kachina, Chasca's gun and the Pyro Archon's sunglasses.

  14. This is Natlan, land of war, fire, dinosaurs, motorcycles and PTSD. It's got everything from dead children to dead sisters! Everyone gets a chance to die when the horrors from beyond start invading and killing off thousands! Lotta fun!
