  1. the thing i love most about this entire trailer, is catch phrase in Natlan is “No one fights alone”, there’s not a giant concert in the actual game but the entirety of Natlan’s story is about coming together to overcome the darkness and danger of the Abyss, people who were enemies in previous nations like like the Fatui, heroes from the past and present all come and fight together and save and fight for one another❤️

No a concert like this doesn’t happen in game, but Mavuika’s whole goal has always been unity and coming together putting aside differences to fight the common enemy, she easily could have destroyed the Fatui and Captain when they interfered with her plan, but instead she chose unity and coming together by convincing them with her actions to follow her against a common foe, and this trailer plus all of her material has shown her dedication to that, whether it’s fighting the Abyss to save Natlan or absolutely SHREDDING IT on stage in this case haha

In her short “Sunset” she goes forward 500 years into the future as the lone survivor of her comrades, the old heroes who died spirits come together in a new generation of heroes to destroy the Abyss, she watched her old friends march to their deaths because they believed in her and her plan, she went on alone and just like back then is united Natlan together to finally end the threat for good, it’s all topped off by the fact she’s the only archon who was a HUMAN and not a god, good lord I could rant for hours about how amazing this is, I love her and her story so so much

  2. No one fights alone. FOR NATLAN!!! ❤❤❤ Also, she sacrificed being with her friends and family to move 500 years into the future to try and win a war. Her family is all gone now (since she time traveled) but her comrades are the 6 heros of Natlan. One for each tribe. Each color represents the rainbow. Red/orange = fire. Yellow = Earth. Green = plants. Blue = Water. Purple = Electricity/lightning. The 6 heros of Natlan all banded together to help Mavuika fight the war and when they all "stand together" they make up the "rainbow destined to burn" (which is the name of our current quest chapter in game)

  3. Traveler is not here because Traveler in lore is supposed to be an outsider entity.
He is supposed to be an observer of all the events that take place (An witness if you will).

Even if he doesn't exist, All events that take place will take place.
The traveler just makes it more Easy? But yeah he is just an Outsider observer.

  4. So in Sunset we saw Mavuika fight alongside heroes from 6 tribes. Before the animated short 2 of the warriors fell in battle from two of the tribes. The characters in Mavuika’s trailer are the current heroes of the 6 tribes and currently hold those deceased heroes’ ancient names. In the prophecy the pyro archon (Mavuika) will fight the abyss with the heroes of each of the 6 tribes the ones in this trailer alongside the traveller because we’re the main character and of course we’re involved :))

  5. Don't recall if you've watched the Honkai Impact 3rd videos, but "I never will let you go" is a reference to the HI3 video Final Lesson and the song in that video. Mavuika looks very, very similar to Himeko in HI3, same as Ei looks like Mei from HI3, and Unknown Goddess looks like Kiana from HI3.

  6. I absolutely love your reaction videos, Phil! Even though I’m not pursuing a film-related career, your insights bring so much depth and perspective to the trailers. It’s both entertaining and enlightening, truly awesome! Keep up the amazing work my goat

  7. A thorough and fast review! Also regarding other Hoyoverse stuff, they release Fugue's teaser and trailer in Honkai Star Rail (which I would love if you reacted to). Also on a separate note, I don't think you ever reacted to Honkai 3rd's "Lament of the Fallen" animation and I think your insight would be really awesome. Thanks for the great content!

  8. Thank you for your reaction ! This trailer is really dope !
I think you might have missed Kinich, Mualani and Ororon character presentation. The character playing the drum don't have a trailer yet.

It's not related to Natlan but I would also recommand a semi-official video called "Moonlight bamboo forest " (or "Forêt de Bamboo au clair de lune" 12:38 min long) that was specialy commissioned by Hoyofair to the French animation studio Passion Paris. It's the animated version of a a book that we can read in game i Genshin and it's a beautiful piece of art.

  9. oh wow the timing, was surprised by the direction of this trailer being kind of like an AMV, but its not totally unwelcome!

edit: Also learning its supposed to be mavuika singing makes it even more enjoyable, and the song is a bangerr

  10. I find the 6:30 clip with the camera movement around Mavuika very reminiscent of the Offspring video "The Kids Aren't Alright".
This technique further highlights Mavuika's resolve. This is a truly excellent trailer.

  11. i would love if you cover her teaser aswell. it adds a lot to her backstory and fill in some gaps from the animated short.

as for what happened to mavuika after 500 years: she was reborn/reincarnated/spawned (the game is never too clear on the specifics of how she appeared in the present) relatively recently (the game happens about 505 to years from that event). natlan being the place with the weakest defenses (to not make it too complicated) has been at war against the abyss all this time and the motto of natlan is "we stand together" which is sorta mirrored in the music band.
this war is addressed in the main quest, but without going into too much details, mavuika now HAS to fight a one on one against the big bad evil guy (which is actually gonna be a 2 on 1 cuz traveller), therefore the feeling of her making a decision in the beginning of the video

  12. You said you don't recall Ororon (guy in dark clothing and hood). If you haven't yet, you should definitely give his character demo a watch. It is short, but there is a lot in terms of cool film editing in it.

  13. Something I haven't see people talk about is how at the end mic turns into a flaming baton. The characters besides her are all the inheritors of the past heroes' names so the baton has been passed to a new generation.

  14. Mavuika is the only archon(nation leader) that gives me vibes that i would be willing to ride and die with, mostly i think it`s because although at the end of day she is still only one of archons who is human she is willing to go as far as she needs for her nation and is quite literally getting hands on in action. 5.3 story is gonna be banger i can already tell

  15. To answer your lore question: Mavuika was very dead for the past 500 years. She spent those 500 years in the underworld of Natlan, known as the Night Kingdom, as a spirit untethered from time. What those years were like we don't know, as we do know that other souls in the Night Kingdom do have some kind of awareness and consciousness, and tend to degrade over time due to their proximity to the abyss – though Mavuika seems to have been spared that latter part.

Fairly recently she was resurrected and resumed the mantle of Pyro Archon for the sake of leading the final battle against the Abyss invasion into Natlan, putting into motion the plans she and her original band of friends started 500 years ago.

Also the obsidian feather you were wondering about near the end is an Ancient Name – a physical manifestation and conduit of an ancient hero's name and legend; In this case, it's labeled "Shujaa" which means Hero in Swahili – and we don't know yet who that name belongs to, as we've seen Mavuika's ancient name already and it's "Kiongozi", or Leader.

  16. This is a stretch but I feel like they chose to do this music video style because HI3 always has music with vocals and Mavuika looks very similar to Himeko. It’s lowkey a homage to Hoyo’s beloved character in the entire Hoyoverse

  17. Yes, please also cover her teaser! There might not be a lot of content packed into it, but I think it will give you more insight into the character if you want to understand her and her backstory better!
