  2. as a f2p player who also pulls waifu over meta, spiral abyss has always been a bit of a challenge for me. i usually have to put a lot of thought into my team comp and strategy because the blessing doesnt always work with my best characters and i like using yoimiya for everything anyways. so i end up spending more time than the average player on spiral abyss. so i was excited to get imaginarium theatre which would work so well with me having horizontally invested, even into niche 4*s like yanfei and xinyan. this resulted in me clearing it in about 10 mintues. dissapointing. it just does not feel well thought out at all. it was so boring

  3. 5:20 I 100% agree with this statement because I am exactly what he describes as a "horizontal invester" and although it was rough because my units don't do billions of damage I still managed to have a lot of fun with units I have otherwise not touched in a very long time.

  4. This kinda shows that developers focus on ZZZ launch and HSR. I wonder how much Natlan will suffer from this. It is also noteworthy that there is subtle powercreep here since Fontaine characters overall are less dependant on burst and have lower burst cost. This makes them a bit easier to fit in ad hoc teams.

  5. I have an account that is horizontally invested across 40 characters. They min level 80 which fully leveling artifacts weapons, and talents at 6 for most skills and bursts I still found imaginarium theatre boring as hell. It is tedious game mode where the forced aspect shines through. SO many restrictions, each character can only be used twice, you get units at random at different times through the run. On top of massive elemental restrictions. Then you get forced to use units that you skipped because you didn't like their gameplay. One my favorite units Keqing sucks in this game mode since I do not have access to dendro. And yes I skipped Baizhu since I found him to be unfun game play wise. Lore wise he seems pretty cool.
This game mode sounds like it has potential but in practise it is terrible.

  6. As a casual player/ftp who’s never even finished Spiral Abyss, this feels hugely overwhelming and impossible. I don’t have the characters, and if I have them or use the freebies, then I have no idea how to play them because I’ve not had the practice. Being thrown into random boss fights without knowing what the heck abilities to use when or why is just frustrating and stress inducing. And I have enough stress IRL, don’t need it in my games as well. So it’s a pass on the Imaginarium Theatre for me 👎

  7. I don’t even care if it’s not that difficult, I just wish it wasn’t a month long. I really hate how they changed the abyss cycle. Yeah we get more primos but it’s a longer time to wait for the only somewhat challenging part of the game. I love when abyss resets bc it’s actually time to fight challenging enemies but now you have to wait a month long. There’s no point in going back and playing the abyss after completing it for that cycle. And it sucks even more bc genshin is having less and less combat focused events so abyss is the only combat I can look forward to playing. Overall, I like imaginarium theater but I wish it was like 2-3 weeks long instead.

  8. At the beginning of the mode, I was going around the room and talk to everyone that I played. Halfway into it, I was burned out and want to just get to the end as fast as I can, get the rewards and get myself outta there.

  9. I kinda agree with other user. I see this new end game kinda a problem it self for most user that play less then 1 year or 2 year. In a way that kind a forcing user to get more (unnecessary/underwhelming/gimmick) character into their account that most user would not use at all.

Just another cheap tactic to pressure user to pull on any banner that could ruin thier account for long time. Miss out on better character coming soon or later.

  10. In general, I find the fact that grinding for chars in Genshin takes up to a month so frickin’ funny. Like, in HSR you can 0 to 100 a character within 10-12 days tops. I’m literally overflowing with Firefly’s trace mats because I was too lazy to synthesize the blues into purples and didn’t realise I went overboard.

But of course, being able to grind only 3/7 days a week does put a spanner in the works.

  11. What I fear the most from this game mode is the prevalence of hyper carries again
In majority of the instances when random influences party composition characters which excel in combination with others start to lose value, such as fischl, electro on field DPS, niche elemental supports etc.

IMHO this is not a good Game mode. It's rather interesting cause it makes you to play characters you dint have or don't like to exit comfort zone and maybe try something new to find out ways to enjoy the game in different ways, but the above mentioned problem just makes it taste sour.

  12. U know, its weird how Genshin is still the only 1 of 3 that doesn't have a rouge-like mode. Honkai has Elysian Realm & HSR has Sim Universe. I know these games are done by diff teams, but idk… its still weird

  13. I love the sim universe I thought Im theater would be similar, but It feels sloppy with the way it's balanced between prep outside in game and RNG. The RNG has too many layers to it there are: character; weapons;elements;artifacts;boons, all out of player control. It just makes for an unsatisfying experience, when a decent part of the player base is looking for the biggest number and funnest teams. The absolute balls they had when releasing this one is crazy.

  14. Yeah once again, big problem w/ endgame modes- u thought it was too easy, but for me the Nor difficulty is a challenge. I couldn't do it the 1st time, I can after a few tries but on Hard I can't beat the vishaps in time.
I'm like… a low spender. Haven't spent in a long time, but in the past I have. I also struggle to simply clear Abyss floor 12 & never 36* it so…

  15. As someone who plays on and off, I really dont like the Imaginarium Theatre. I only pull for characters I like, not because of their elements and I used different elements in every team. If a geo/cryo one comes out I most likely wont be able to clear it as other than Zhongli I have no geo characters built and other than Ganyu, I have no cryo built.

  16. I already owned and built most of the characters that they happened to offer as trial characters, as a consequence they don't count for the 18 minimum requirement, and I happen to not have many other units, so I can't really participate this time except for the very limited easy mode.

  17. The game mode is vastly more easy and less stressful compared to spiral abyss. It can be cleared without any of your character built if you are skilled at playing any card game and understand the mechanics of the game, enemies and characters.
As I'm relatively new (started from 4.0) and with the objective to full star abyss, I focused too much resources on few characters than I would like to. Only after abyss can be done relatively fine, I could spend my resin on characters I wanted to try.

I couldn't justify to use my resource elsewhere when the abyss goes harder and harder forcing me to invest on higher talents and gambling for better artifacts for my teams (I barely made full star in 4.7). The new game mode actually gave me a reason to leave that mindset.

Because I ran out of exp books and don't want to use resin, I try killing stuff in the overworld with all characters in the party below level 70 with talents Lv6 or lower, that a random Lawachurl becoming a threat and exciting to fight against again.

  18. I like building multiple character and play around with them, but half way through the game it felt pointless until NOW, I would've probably enjoy the hell of it of this game mode.

I think at this point they should just change the game to make it more casual and enjoyable as an experience rather than making it challenging. The way this game mode to replace abyss just feel more nuisance at this point.

Most people who wanted something challenging are already looking at something else like myself

  19. My issue has always been time gating. I work a 9-5 and the amount of time it takes to build a character is insane considering the resin you actually get per day. The game starts feeling like a chore to play at that point. If they removed the cost of resin for at least one of the materials whether it be bosses, talent books or artifacts. There needs to be a compensation for asking us to grind harder. Adding the RNG to it makes it even worse.
