In the 4.8 update we will get a free character, along with three new skins, one of which will be free, and a new summer event where we will try out a new Natlan mechanic. So in this video, let’s talk about everything you can expect in version 4.8.

The release of version 4.8 is scheduled for July 17, 2024. This will be the last patch in the Fontaine cycle. We will say goodbye to the Fontaine and move on to Natlan! So you can expect a trailer for the Pyro region on the special program, just as we saw some footage of Fontaine in version 3.8.
Rumors about the summer event have been circulating for a long time, as it is expected that this closing update will feature a temporary location that will be available for 40 days.

According to information from hxg diluc, the event is hosted by one of the witches of the hexenzirkel. We may even meet a mysterious witch who may turn out to be Emelie, mentioned by several of Fontaine’s characters. The theme of the event will be various fairy tales, likely inspired by works of European authors.

The list of characters invited to the event looks interesting: Wanderer, Kirara, Navia, and Nilou. Since Wanderer is currently in the 4.6 banner, Navia and Nilou are more likely to appear in the 4.8 banners, as Nilou hasn’t been featured for a year, and Navia is expected to get a rerun before version 5.0. Besides them, you can expect reruns of Wriothesley and Shenhe. Unfortunately, there is no information about new characters at the moment, but a release of 4-star characters is possible. If this happens, it is most likely to be Prison Girl or Dahlia.

It is also known that during the event, we will test a new mechanic from Natlan related to mounts. Accoding to the Rumors there will be a dragon in the location that we can ride. Interestingly, the dragon’s name matches that of a creature buried in Dragonspine, but it is likely a different beast, similar to those that will inhabit the Pyro region.

A few months ago, insiders shared information that in version 4.8, we can expect three new character skins. Initially, there were two versions of characters considered for these skins: Albedo, Sucrose, Amber, or Wanderer, Nilou, and Kirara. I think Wanderer, Nilou, and Kirara have a much better chance since all three of these characters will be involved in the event in the 4.8 update.

As you know, developers give away a free skin for a 4-star character when releasing new skins. If the set includes Albedo, Sucrose, and Amber, miHoYo would have to give us two free skins, which genshin could never. So skin for kirara should be given for free.

Since the 4.6 update featured a free character and the 4.7 update will feature a free weapon, in version 4.8, we can expect a free character. But who it will be is still unknown.
