I'm a light spender (30$ USD since launch) and all i have to say about this new Abyss is:
This is the best Abyss yet in my opinion. It hard, challenging, as it SUPPOSED to be. I have so much fun trying with different team comp and slowly gain every star for each thing i done right. At first i only got 4* floor 12, and after a week of experimenting / build unused characters, watch Envi twitch stream (literally scream in happiness when he got 3* floor 12), i now got 8 star, and is now looking forward for the grand prize of 9* after my Sucrose is built.
It is the sense of accomplishment that is matter the most. For all those people out there who think floor 12 is hard, you are right, but should you complain about it ? ABSOLUTELY NO, stop being lazy and get you brain moving, you are NOT supposed to beat floor 12 if all you do is pressing left click !
Work on your team, build your Kaeya, Anemo Main, Heck even Amber is good in floor 11 ! Watch Envi stream, START LEARNING, build guide ! GET BETTER ! And trust me, when you get that 9*, you're going to feel like a fking god and is the best feeling ever when playing a game
Tip: Geo main structure can block Abyss Herald attack, really useful in floor 11 and 12
