  1. As you might've noticed from this video, but also the ones I made about Cyno or Wanderer lately, these video analysis about characters that were already released are not complete build and playstyle guides, but rather more of a detailed gameplay/theorycrafting outlook on what they can do in game. This way, I think I can specifically tackle the question "why are they good? Should you get them?" Without providing redundant info you can also get from many other videos or guides, and I can provide my personal opinion on certain things more directly. Let me know what you think about this format!

  2. I pulled Xiao on his first banner during 1.3 and never regretted that decision. Whenever there is a potential for him in the Abyss, I use him and he does just fine for 36*, especially since they started introducing big bosses on Floor 12.
I'm aware some people are bored of his playstyle and some people do not like how he falls behind some DPS characters like Hu Tao, but I'm totally find with it. Your opinion is as valid as me saying I still love Xiao after 2 years.

And I like your style of videos, being more of theorycrafting than normal guide since I think there are enough guides at this point, especially for older characters like Xiao, so I'm personally totally fine with this type of video.

  3. Honestly, hoyoverse should make the speciffic element supports appear in banners with any character of that element, gorou could appear with albedo or zhongli, faruzan with xiao, venti or kazuha and sara with miko or cyno, some people want the supports but don't really want some of the speciffic 5 stars.

  4. Excited to use him in 3.4's Spiral Abyss against the 3 (three) colourful Maguu Kenki on 12th floor with C6 Faruzan. From my testing with her, I managed to do 117K max plunge attack so as an og Xiao haver you understand my excitement.

  5. I dunno. Like he's obviously better with C6 Faruzan than without her. But he just takes long to deal his damage. Even in multi wave content I can just do something like hyper Raiden and one-shot the first wave and then mop up the second wave with her autos. And after excelling in that kind of chamber, I still have a unit that has the flexibility to adapt and deal with enemies that have short vulnerability phases like wolf lord . Characters like Xiao that rely on long field duration to do damage are outdated and abyss design has long since moved beyond them imo.

  6. Great video! I put in today's survey that I was unhappy with the way they handled Faruzan and suggested putting new 4*s in the shop but that's probably never happening…

Regarding Wanderer's DPS estimates, are those your own calculations or community sourced? I heard that other popular DPS estimates "over-estimated" Wanderer's damage at launch and, even with C6 Faruzan, he only reaches between 55K DPS on his hypercarry teams.

  7. I got lucky with a c6 Faruzan somehow so it makes me consider pulling Xiao but I already have Wanderer…. Plus I gotta prioritize Alhaitham and Yelan and Homa

  8. Xiao was a personal favourite of mine. Helped me in every which way until pre-Inazuma release. It's a bummer I can't farm the Vermillion set for him due to resin problems, but I do hope one day I'll get a good set for him to replace the one he has right now.
