That domain looks like "Starry Night" by Vincent Van Gogh.
The puzzles in this mirage was not hard but is very subject to over thinking. There's a bunch more if and when you decide to revisit, some of which is quite trippy…
As a colorblind person it was so hard to differentiate things in this particular mirage. It took way longer for me to get through because while the hints were there and easy to find and use, I couldn't actually make out the patterns and had to wing it. Took about 5 hours.
I don't know the exact timeline but I kind of wonder if Stanley was the one Mona talked too?
They did address the travler not having a Mirage thing by saying that the person the mirage is for will feel strange as it's about to take form. meaning that the characters never actually assumed what each was for, it was always the characters who said that it might be theirs. only one we actually assumed was fischls because she was acting strange.
So if the traveler didn't mention that they think a mirage was coming then Mona wouldn't have checked (she only checked on a whim anyway and not even for locating mirages, that just came by consequence of what she was looking for).
not to mention as mona pointed out they realized that mirages have nothing to do with the problem and they jump to resolve the problem directly after Monas, before traveler can even have time for one to show up or for them to realize they don't have one. so it's not a matter of "why didn't they notice" it's a matter of plot progression (if 1 appears each day and we resolve the issue before another one forms why would another form?). unless one of them went "nah lets wait for travelers to pop up" there is no real reason to address it, not even in a normal conversation would that have been discussed if everything went in this order.
