sooooooo the usurper is not a descender and the 'one who came after' is the 3rd? the text at 2 minutes confused me too ;-;
Can confirm it's magical, I'm the cow
Maybe the battle pass is talking about the twins creator probably the sinner though
Actually, it is entirely possible that the translation in Neuvillette's story on "Visions" is entirely accurate. I say this because it is entirely possible that Phanes and the SWC did not come into immediate conflict with each other. What if the SWC the Third Descender (TD) arrived in Teyvat shortly after Phanes defeated the Sovereigns? I suspect that there was an initial peace between Phanes and the SWC, but Teyvat was still wild and not completely tamed as Nibelung might have still been in the picture.
What if, therefore, the TD was murdered by Phanes and the SWC in order to complete the rule of elemental Teyvat? And what if the completion of the Gnoses were what started the war between the SWC and Phanes?
Whoever the winner was would still have been incredibly weakened, but still needed to do two things: heal Teyvat via the Divine Nails and solidify Celestia rule while the Phanes or the SWC would rest.
Enter the Archon war: Celestia's answer to the fact its overgod was going to be largely absent.
In the middle of watching this. Just occurred to me. What if the descenders are made to choose in the end to sacrifice themselves to become vessels in order for another samsara to begin. Hmm
The third descender is the prince in the book the pale Princess and the 6 pigmies. The pale princess could be the cryo Archon before she became an archon and now is collecting the gnosis to revive her loved one.
Me wondering what the descenders purpose was.
Something says the theory about the samsara of Teyvat is true as in when you die another star lights up in your constellation and if when Teyvat reaches its eventual destruction and it starts all over again…
wait ? i’m so confused who’s skirks master 😭😭 and who’s the usurper?? i might be really behind but i don’t get it
I have a theory What if the third desender is the unknown god. I mean how our twin and traveller broke free for the seal I mean there's no way she just free us and say I seal your power go and learn the truth of this world comapre to "outlander your jounary ends here" and now she no where to be find.
You mentioned the Traveler's creator and I imediatelly thought of K.K.
They are a sort of parental figure to the Twins and was the one to send them both on their journey to look for a new home after theirs was destroyed. If this K.K., person really got involved with Teyvat's fate as well, I'm not sure. But It would be VERY interesting.
It's really good point to bring the opening of beta version of Genshin Impact, it's really brough the grim aspects of Genshin Impact like no other until probably Tsurumi Island and furthermore with what happened to Sumeru onwards
And on a commenter mentioning the motifs of Samsara, Mihoyo have been using the motifs of Samsara in occurrence consistently since the beginning of Honkai Impact open world (which basically being Mihoyo's very first open world map in any of their game, I had wondered about what happened if Sakura Samsara open world being expanded way back in March 2018 and somehow it's happened in the middle of 2021 in 3,5 years later in the form of Inazuma), but back into the topic, Samsara utilised by Mihoyo is mainly based of Mahayana Buddhism's complex Cosmology, especially of Chinese Mahayana Buddhist Cosmology where classes of gods and demigods are stacking to reborn and bleed their karmic and consciousness aggregations throughout the wheel of Samsara, the rebirth into being human are very important in Mahayana Buddhism since it's allowing normal humans to ascend and become Bodhisattvas (basically Buddhism equivalent to Christian Saints) or be adjured into Pure Land paradises as transitory realm to escape Samsara
Unfortunately, those whose trying to mantling the authorities of gods by either killing them or overtaking their seats are ended up circulating the cosmic cycles of Samsara all over again and the motifs of Samsaric cycles in Mihoyo are usually manifesting as dreams of humans, from manifesting in Honkai Impact lore as Project Stigma from Imaginary Tree (like what Kevin, Dr.MEI and Grey Serpent did), wandering to hold Ether Anchor in Sea of Quanta (like what's Durandal Bianka Ataegina and Ferryman does), or trying to tap into powers of Imaginary Spaces and proceed to drawn into concepts of Timelines or subverting authorities from the "Void" within Imaginary Space (like what Otto, Kiana and Captain of Hyperion did), these characters mentioned are from Honkai Impact lore, but the more obscure sides akin to Captain of Hyperion are somewhat introducing these concepts first in-game wise even if it's indirectly, there are motifs of how World Tree and Abyssal sea as twins of primordial entities in different Cosmologies of Mihoyo games (in Genshin Impact case, the Irminsul Tree and The Abyss) and often the temporal solutions is being to subvert the mechanism of the surges and flows of powers within two entities which brings cycles of death and rebirth to the whims of the main characters involved in the main story and the deep lore within respective Mihoyo games
You might going to see this in Genshin where The Traveler and Paimon will utilises multiple methods to undermine the principalities and rulings of Heavenly Principles (which often described like a sentient powered mechanical entity/entities) and either escape The Throne (as Dainsleif tried to asked The Traveler in Travail trailer), or to override it and have endless journey in the wider horizons of Teyvat as a planet (according to Skirk's claims that Teyvat is just a planet amongst many), if what Skirk said is true, then the simulation theory of Teyvat might be partially refuted to be less actual computer simulations and more of bubble universe/plane (similar to Honkai Impact's bubble/leaf universe) but with active mechanism to delay corruption of Teyvat's ecosystems by either Phanes, Heavenly Principles and other major descenders that plays apart to keep the Samsara of Teyvat going, unless the Traveler will allow to offer salvation of liberation of Teyvat from its Samsaric cycles and embark to different journeys in the other shores, unshackled by abyss, elements and other conventional realms of old Teyvat (which somewhat fits with Tsaritsa wanting to "burn away the old world")
Sorry for the long comment, but its something from my experiences as someone who plays Honkai Impact since early 2018 and plays Genshin Impact since first week, although it's needed to be remembered that Genshin Impact doesn't just taking from their more Chinese devs' better familiarities of their Chinese Mahayana Buddhism, they take inspirations from various existing and living cultures of other Religions for their understanding of its Cosmology to it's beings, although the overarching motifs of Mihoyo games are all secretly "Gnostic" (It's always what happens when you ended up making biggest settings with complex lores, any fantasy to sci-fi setting will eventually lead into one of many Gnostic groups' conclusions, since "Gnosticism" consisting of different groups that would make even Scholars and scientists breaks their mind at trying to comprehending early centuries of Christianity prior to "Orthodoxy" via later Patristic "Church Fathers" texts, Councils of Nicaea & Rome)
Out of topic but i think aether is left handed while lumine is right handed.
They could have a way of fighting with aether on the left and lumine on the right. We can see aether change the hand which he holds the sword with after seeing his sibling is in the left in the starting cutscene, also after he loses his sword he uses his left hand to attack. Just a minor detail
i believe the third decender might definitely be the abyss twin even though they have been recorded into irminsul
i think the abyss twin's life and body has been ''coded'' into the irminsul, but not their power
something like pneuma and osia
body and spirit
just like focalor split herself into her power and her human side to create furina
then it turns out it was Aloy all along hence we dont see her lol
Wait did everyone forget that Nahida explicated stated that the Abyss sibling is not one of the descenders? I feel like that should've been the first thing you looked at when making a theory about the descenders
Lumine travelled the whole teyvat 500 years ago. And started her journey from khanre'ah.
😐 yea gnosis might be the power of abyss sibling.
Somehow she died?!??!? And khanre'ah revived her again?
And irumansul has the information of her after her resurrection?
The sky above is fake?!??!?
Wait a minute!!!!
Signora can be playable in that manner damn.
😢 I have to save for that fire moth
My theory is the third descender was sealed and was divided into the archons gnosis. Hence the Tsaritsa is trying to recover all gnoses to remove the seal and revive the 3rd descender to fighr celestia.
In your opinion do you think the Gnosis are what hold the authority of the soverigns? For me i dont think this is true. Since it's already been stated that the Dragon's authority lies in the throne of the archons.
Natlans theme says "ode of resurrection" and considering tsaritsa already has 6 gnosis now she only needs the pyro gnosis so i think we can picture whats gonna heppen in natlan
I still recall when Scaramouche was in Irminsul telling us about the descender and tell us that we're the 4th descender whilst Lumine belonged to Teyvat, or so i remembered
I think Phanes in their weakened state lost control of teyvat overtime which allowed the second who came (sinner) to slowly take over teyvat such as being responsible for abyss monsters in teyvat. The sibling being the third descender previously cooperate with Phanes to bring order in teyvat but eventually learned a dark truth about Phanes so she joined the abyss.
the first descender is panece who defeat dragon and create human race
second is the one who established Celestia rules, the heavenly principal.
third one died, use as material to create Gnosis
forth is MC.
The 3rd descender is dead 100% and has been since the start of the archon war when the gnoses were first created 2700 years ago. We know our twin traveled Teyvat 500 years ago, being Golden Nara for example and also being Dain’s travel companion. If our twin was alive then then they can’t be the 3rd descender. I think our twin WAS a descender or something but Nahida said someone was purposefully obscuring their fate so that could possibly have something to do with it making them connected to Teyvat.
Biggest thing for me was finding out that you don't have to come from the beyond or beyond the universe to be considered as 'one who descends'. Kinda paraphrasing here, but this info seems to be conflicting with what we know yet could potentially link some dots down the line.
i hate when they have cut content like dam that unused scene is quite dark and the problem arises is that they usually go with the first one made for lore wise and we get a vague intro to make it family friendly.
Note: the text said "one who came after" and not "the one who came after", so the translation is not wrong because the latter would mean the second who came, and the former just means anyone after the first.
Gnoseses??
Is the Third Descender the Prince of Light from the book "The Pale Princess"?
My question is, since the twins traveled together, could you say they are both the 4th descenders or are they considered the 3rd and 4th descenders? Because, in the ending of the Masquerade of the Guilty, when the main protagonist traveler was speaking to Neuvillette, he told us what the gnosis was, the traveler only mentioned that they were the 4th descender. Never mentioned their sibling. Hoyoverse has a way to dump a lot of lore but also are able to keep us players in the dark still! Because they traveled together are we just assuming they are considered the 4th descenders or are they considered two separate descenders? I feel that this is an important question to ask.
The question is, if the abyss sibling really died to create gnosis then why the heck of these gnoses were given to the current archons? i mean primodal ona could keep it for themselves right? It makes no sense to me. Or if the abyss sibling was really reborn after that, they really could picked up those gnosis to strengthen their power instead of searching the power of abyss alone right?
Venti toom the form of his friend on death… just saying it's been shown in game that its possible she ain't alive or the real one
Could twins arrive to Teyvat much earlier than the Khaenrian Cataclysm 500 years ago? Could be that they arrived even before the archon wars, or during the war with the second who came. Then they attempted to flee, but were frozen in time by unknown god. Aether would be sleeping till present times, Lumine was killed, but later cloned in Khaenriah to become Princess of Khaenriah. The way Alberich was certain about her role and her own determination to save her people from the curse kinda suggests that this version of Lumine was actually born there, and is not of the stars.
have you seen Heavenly Delusion?
If you have not then dont read what im about to write:
What if one of the twins is a copy of one and another when they were born and the third Descender is the parent of one of them. Like Albedo Lumine could be a humunculus (but failed or something) copy of Aether made by the wisdom that exists in Teyvat. But I dont know everything about genshin lore. So this might be wrong.
My theory is rather Instead of thinking at the physical form as remainers i would think about the elemental traces. Maybe Lumine once she got captured by the sustainers got drained of all her elemental powers and that's how the 2nd made the gnosis . A theory that would confirm this would be that her brother can resonate with all elements confirming the bond between the 2 and that they have the same origin. Also even the traveler lost his powers and got drained of all elemental powers . This theory however is hard to explain in the timeframe. Tha would imply that Lumine travelled 2000 years before Aether.
Yes, the 2nd who came could be the dragon king Nibelung. Narzissenkreuz talks about be a descender doesn't mean just be from other world, but be someone with the power to create and to destroy the world, and his plan was to BECOME someone like this, so, it's possible to become something like a descender even being from Teyvat, probably because exists the thing called forbidden knowledge.
Random somewhat unrelated thought, the first two descenders probably also have the power of all the elements, which means traveler could probably turn them into gnosis, so they should be afraid themselves.
Also, since the fatui is collecting the gnosis, what if the third descender was a fatui member? The 10th fatui slot is still unknown.
Also I’m kind of hoping we find out there’s a fifth descender who came after traveler, maybe someone that could be an ally and playable character too.
my theory is the abyss twin is the 3rd descender and since they seem to have ties to the fatui the tsaritsa is collecting all the gnoses to revive the twin to overpower celestia? idk
Couldn't the 3rd decender is the traveller?
Any update on Celestia guys? We've been waiting for so long.
Out twin sister is not , the Dendro baby said so
then 2600 yrs ago 3rd desender die but abyss sibling are present in 500yrs ago destruction
I am here to prefer a new theory that the no of descenders who came to tyvat is 6 as we know right now that fatui got to know about four descenders but two are lumine and sustainer of the heavenly principles as we know from nahida that fatui tagged us 4th descender but not our twin who was traveling worlds with us and sustainer has different type of power which can manipulate space
You speak well
Didn't nahida say that lumine is actually part of Teyvat but traveler isn't?
I had a theory. What if the captain is all that remains of the 3rd descender after their body was taken from them, so now they inhabit an old suit of armor, almost like General Grievous? Keep in mind that I have NO evidence other than it would be cool. 🙂
8:50 Isn't that Venti's CN VA?
It's mentioned a few times that the siblings were summoned to Teyvat by Khaenri'ah. We could just assume that they threw a random spell to the void willing to isekai whoever, but it might also be that they were specifically asking for the siblings, as in, there already was lore about them in Teyvat.
