We Need More 1-Piece Artifact Sets in Genshin Impact!

At least I’d like them anyway, if they didn’t suck. So here’s some idea’s for interesting but not quite mandatory 1 piece artifact set bonuses.

  1. Would be cool if every archon had a 3rd story quest and each one gave us a 5 star Goblet of the respective dmg bonus with a 1pc effect for the specific element.

    Or have every character give us a specific artifact with a 1pc set tailored specifically for them after a certain number of Story Quests (dk how this would with 4 stars though)

  2. I was actually thinking of making good 1pc sets so that even the most unusable characters like Gorou and Thoma can work as DPS and characters like Chongyun can work as supports with the right build.
    Of course, these sets would make some already meta characters even more broken, which will be insanely controversial for everyone, so it's best to make MOST of the sets only work on 4 star characters.
    Here's the sets that are exceptions to this "rule":
    – After using Elemental skill, gain an elemental infusion corresponding to the character's element for 6 seconds.
    – After obtaining an elemental shard created by crystallized, gain an elemental infusion corresponding to the shard's element for 12 seconds. Only one infusion can exist at a time.
    – After using an elemental skill or burst, increase movement speed by 15% for 7 seconds.

    And here's examples for the 4 star character exclusive ones:
    – After using elemental skill, increase the party's Elemental Mastery by 10% of the character's for 7 seconds.
    – After doing a full combo of auto attacks, heals all party members based on 5% of the character's max hp every second for 6 seconds.
    Upon leaving the field after fulfilling the requirement, all party members get a 5% attack increase of the character's attack stat.

  3. i feel like most of these ideas could be used as character passive talents, which i feel like is what genshin would use them for anyway. rhey're much more likely to make more unique passive talents than to make more 1-piece sets

  4. My Furina has a 5 piece set, and the only artifact i need to improve is my circlet.. this would legit be the perfext solution if 5 star versions of the existing tiaras were a thing.. would especially be stoked if mihoyo implemented any of your ideas too

  5. Yes but also 3pc and 5pc sets when? Individually or tied together the same way 2/4pc sets are. There's also the option to make sets that explicitly pair with and buff other sets whether new or existing.

  6. Honestly, a 1 peice set that made character immune to their ownreaction damage would go hard.
    Self blooms/burgeons
    Electroshock
    Getting too close to enemies that you inflicted burning on

  7. One piece set bonuses can have useful additional stats like 15% crit rate/dmg/elemental dmg bonus/atk etc…

    Obviously there would need to be a 5 star variant and If you have an onset goblet you wont have to sacrifice your elemental damage bonus and still retain your 4pc set bonus.

  8. we need more 3-star weapons too. we're not getting those.
    imagine if we had like 100 different 3-star weapons from each category, and some of them were actually useful like TTDS, in a way that the 95% of our wishes wouldn't be just utter garbage? wouldn't that be cool? btw, a 1-piece set that i would want is for the character to passively regenerate energy out of combat. 2 energy per second for the whole party. gimme.

  9. We need some absolutely SILLY new effects (1 piece, 2 piece or 4 piece, or even weapons), just throw random shit on the wall and see what the players cook, effects should be very specific and very strong, not shit like that Vermillion set that was only 5-10% better than 2pc-2pc and before Furina could only be used by Xiao. Furina herself is an example of a whacky effect that introduces new gameplay, she drains HP continuously and rewards healing with a COMPETITIVE damage bonus.
    Here are some random ideas I got from other games, some even from hoyo games:
    – a set that disables a character's ultimate, but some of the energy they gain is redirected to the other party members, or something else entirely to gain in exchange;
    – a set that disables a character's ultimate but adds a charge to their skill (or half its cooldown) and increases its damage/MV (a chip from the Star Rail pokemon event);
    – a set that deals self-damage every fixed interval while in combat stopping at like 50 or 30% hp, and gives a bonus for every tick it successfully drains hp (based on Tainted Maggie from Binding of Isaac)
    – a set that doubles the energy cost of a burst but increases it's scaling by 1.5-2x, or that allows the burst to be over-charged by up to 100% and deals extra damage based on over-charge amount (Argenti and Elation Resonance from Star Rail)
    – a set that guarantees the character's first x hits every y seconds are crits, but maybe disables crits otherwise (based on Singing Bowl from Wizard of Legend)
    – a set that converts some over-heal into shields (Aegis from Risk of Rain 2, Bloodthirster and Nilah from League)
    – a set that converts expired shields (not broken) into healing (based on Mordekaiser's Indestructible from League)
    – an effect that detonates/breaks current shields and gives some bonus based on the amount of shield broken or periodically breaks shields to maintain uptime on some effect or repeatedly trigger it (synergy with big shield vs. fast shield) (based on Mordekaiser and Sion from League)
    – an effect that changes how damage is considered e.g. skill counts as burst, normal attack counts as skill, etc (Elation 3* blessing, Topaz major trait from Star Rail);
    – an effect that puts a mark on the ground on x condition and gives a bonus based on the distance from that mark, increasing or decreasing with distance;
    – a set that periodically applies the user's element on self (based on all the self applications already in the game);

  10. I am more lazy to change the equipped artifact everytime compared to switching a character and since Hoyo gave us 10 slots for creating a team, i would rather just use it and create exploration team. I do love the idea of a fast Cooldown time artifact

  11. How about one that gives energy while you are out of combat and not in a domain? Basically help characters that rely on their burst (think of various healers) but can struggle with energy regen. Just be sure to make it a percentage of their burst cost, rather than a flat amount. Basically a stronger version of Barbara's C1, except open world only. I think that would be one newer players could appreciate.

  12. The Prayers series actually has some potential in meta. They provide little benefit now, but they can be useful in determining reaction order on self-reactions. Self-reactions aren't really explored much atm, but the newest BP claymore is proof that Hoyo is aware of its existence. I would love to see a character that gives buffs based on self-reactions.

    A dendro self-applying character would be really useful with Bennett to procc self-burn to procc Marechaussee and Vermillion. Self-bloom, etc. Razor self-overload is interesting, and any self-swirl with Jean is good for application. There's a lot of potential here, and Prayers would gain a huge buff by helping us control self reactions.

  13. now that you mentioned it yeah, how come they haven't figured out a way to incorporate more 1 piece artifacts

    granted, that just means more stuff to grind and considering current artifact state (which is also has been the same since forever), a complete redo in how artifacts farming works is due

  14. Aha! The joke is on you and I'm gonna say it: Those one-piece "sets" are amazing, you are wrong and only I know they're so good because I'm one of the very few mad people who have played Genshin on/off since its launch at AR 25. (Currently 1.6m / 4k AR Exp. over AR 25 so basically AR 60 if I ever did the ascension quests.)

    Those items were (and somewhat still are) vital to clear abyss 12 fully with lvl 50 c0 Barbara with Frostbearer r1 and c2 Fischl with Compound Bow r3 as my main DPS on their designated teams the first time I completed it. Survival (HP% scaling units generally), ATK speed and sources of additional damage which trigger abyssal blessing true damage are meta for AR 20 -25 abyss runs. I'm not joking and I have the abyss name card to show for it. 😀

    Good ideas for new one-piece sets though. I'd love to have more of them since AR 25 can't exactly farm for good artifacts besides obtaining them from NPCs, World quests, chests, weekly bosses and spiral abyss.

  15. Your thoughtfulness is wonderful but sadly misplaced. This is a game that does not change, grow or evolve. We can only hope recent sales declines for the game finally has hoyo doing better for their community.

  16. This is a cool idea but I fear that these still wouldn't be used much unless you use a character EXCLUSIVELY for overworld exploration. The cooldown reduction would be nice for Yelan's skill, but I wouldn't swap out one of her dmg-focused pieces to equip it. I'd feel tedious to constantly put it on and swap it back for combat, and you might forget about it when entering the Abyss for example. If anything, I'd like these to be 5* artifact pieces so you can still have 4 lines of useful stats on it. That would make them alot more worth it to me, whether you get them from overworld exploration, trounce domains, or artifact domains.

  17. these tiara 1p circlets were put in there for lore reasons only so i doubt they will make 5 star 1P pieces anytime soon or ever
    its been 3 years and we never heard anything from it since so its not us that forgot about it its mihoho that forgot about it

  18. One 1-piece set I've dreaming about ever since I started understanding this artifact business back in 1.1 is this: the set effect is that it works as the 4th piece in any incomplete set you have equipped, with the restriction being that it caps at 4 stars

    Yes, this one really affects combat or rather, the preparation for combat, in the simple way that you can farm for a few godly pieces of this artifact (which will never be as good as the real deal due to capping at 4 stars) and have an easier time gearing up new characters

    I honestly see no downside to this as it'll just make people more excited about new characters/sets while not increasing the power level at all and also making people overall happier since it's one less piece to farm for if you don't mind being a bit less powerful than you could've been

  19. Kind of off-topic, but we need more stat-stick sets in general. Like for example an Artifactset that gives unconditional Crit-Rate % or Crit-Damage % (like the basic ATK-Set). Sometimes you don't want to have those fancy-schmancy side-effects (like: 'If you attack thirteen times under the moonlight while wearing socks in the water and singing in latin, you get +30% Crit Rate') but just pure, cold and hard stats.
