I have a question: What about the area North to Fontain research institute and western area of Court of Fontain and Mount Esus east. Bc there's a underground map in 4.7 and in 4.6 there will be western part of Fontain but what about the Northern region?
I think you are correct, when you think about it, Bayda Harbour really is hard to get to. The whole northern part of the rainforest is mountains or steep hills and I doubt that would be a suitable route. Also, with that path in the desert, that is most likely our way into the area. Given the developers have already placed a path there, they are most likely planning to create a further path to Bayda Harbour (Or other locations) becuase why else would they place a landmark like that there if they were not going to do anything with it? 🙂
I remember that fake leakers saying it's the entrance to Fontaine, Eternal Oisis, Khaenrei'ah and Apep's lair and some rven believe it, but with some new lore from the npc's we can assume that area is going to be another expanded area (like the border of Liyue and Sumeru where the Primal Vishap and Electo Regisvine is) or Bayda Harbour
