  2. 'Don't pull for inazuma characters'
Me with my lvl 20 Kuki Shinobu (that I got at the beginning of the game) praying to finish Liyue as quick as possible.
She's benched at the moment due to low level, but once I finally unlock Inazuma I'm building her immediately, she was my saving grace at beginning of game

  3. I was 100% one of those who didn't want anything to do with this game because it was gacha. I wish someone told me earlier than literally 2 weeks ago that this is more than that. But even people who know there's more to it than gacha, still like to complain it's gacha becase of their frustrations from pulling for characters, which is understandable too, but still…

  4. I wish I followed meta when I was starting out. It's the most efficient tactic available for a reason, and it will only benefit you in the long run if you choose to follow it, even if just loosely. I'm a waifu over meta player and when I simp for a character I simp HARD, but I started to use the meta to get my mommies easier. 36-starring abyss is 600 primos every 2 weeks whether you like it or not, and I would rather be called a meta slave than not be able to get the characters I like just because I wanted to save my dignity. If you're gonna simp for video game characters, be smart about it.

  5. Meet the characters IN GAME before deciding if you like them or not, don't rely heavily on fan comics or fandom portrayals of the character.

Before I got to Inazuma, I wasn't too interested in Thoma because of how he's was portrayed in so many fan comics I would see. Then I actually met him in game and fell in love with him and now he's my second main.

  6. Not gonna lie , I was a Genshin hater and I didn't play the game . I played TOF and you know how competitive both games are to each other . So naturally , I sided TOF since I didn't know anything about Genshin .
Until I met my girlfriend .. she showed me Genshin . After showing me how it's like for months , she passed me her sub account – yes her second account – to let me play , understand and learn about the game . Mind you , she's AR60 and the account she gave me is AR55 . I won't lie , I fell in love with Genshin way more than TOF . Their lore is so interesting , their story is so touching and I love how there is a story in a story and a quest in a quest . The world's are beautiful , especially Sumeru ! Breathtaking . Now , I'm more in Genshin than TOF and am so thankful to my girlfriend for being so patient in guiding me and hearing me mock Genshin when I didn't know anything . 😂

  7. recently since i got back into playing the game i spent way too time JUST farming artifacts and level up mats for characters and completely ignored the story portion, it burned me out to the point where i didn’t have enough energy to play lantern rite. ): i’m going to take a small break from playing but after i come back i’ll focus more on the quests and exploring/generally enjoying the scenery and world more ^^

  8. I swear to god if you have a VAGUE sense of what artifacts and substats you’re looking for and just slap good enough™️ 5 star artifacts on a character, level them all to level 20, level the character to 90, level talents to around 7-9, and get a decent weapon to 90…

Every. Single. Piece of content in this game will be MORE THAN beatable.

  9. Learn WHAT the stats do, and how characters play. Learn the actual REASON why you want Elemental Mastery on supports and dendro teams. Learn when you have to build crit rate over crit damage. Learn which characters need energy recharge, etc. Thats honestly my most important tip. It allows you to know the basic way to build any character by reading their kit

  10. Me at Version 1.0, the Standard banner have the picture of Diluc and Jean in it. It was soooooo misleading. 🤣 I thought that it was the banner where I will be able to draw Diluc and Jean. I wasted more than 50 wishes on that banner 🤣 The only good thing that came out of it is that I got Aquila Favonia on my first 10 pull.

  11. I remember not knowing to level up talents or weapons….. I struggled so hard in tartaglia's boss fight because the only thing I had done was increase my character's levels. Genshin had never felt closer to a souls game lmao.

  12. Something l wish l knew, different characters = different artifacts, early game, the closest l got to matching that was giving the 2 piece thundering fury that l got from the adventurers handbook and an electro damage goblet to my Keqing

  13. it sucks because with sumeru characters, the story is even LONGER to catch up to, and the scaramouche boss fight is after that archon quest. I have a new F2P account that I've been coasting and enjoying slowly and I always pray that I don't get any sumeru/inazuma characters. Speed running is gonna cut your immersion and fun imo and your characters will suck ass because of said speed running just to get to a boss but now your 3 star weapons and DEF artifacts/level 2 talents will be even worse off. As we get to other nations, I wonder if mihoyo will do something about this, because it will only get harder as more batches of characters come out for new players. We'll need either another conversion system or events that allow us to get those mats.

  15. Tbh when I started playing Genshin I had no expectations, I was shocked seeing it on the front page of the App Store described as an open world rpg. I was like “on an iPhone?!” I didn’t think it would actually be possible to download but then I got right into the opening battle cutscene and I was immediately intrigued by graphics, music, and the story.
My only advice is just play for the story. Because you’ll eventually find out combat mechanics and gacha much later. If you don’t love the story or the design of the game, then you’re not gonna like anything else it has to offer.

  16. For any new players: You only need to ascend your support characters to lvl 60 to unlock their last talent. That's enough! I'm AR 58 and my Xingqui and Gorou are still lvl 60, still make my DPS hit hard enough with their buffs due to artifacts. It saves you an insane amount of levelling up materials if you do it that way!
