I also pulled on this banner as a bp+welkin player because I wanted both weapons for either Zhongli/Beidou and I would've been fine with either of them. I got WGS and even though I wanted it I was still obviously disappointed because Homa is limited and also more universal. I was considering topping up specifically for another pity but what happened to Tectone convinced me not to.
Fast forward to the next day, I claim the last 1 pull from the 5 days mail event they usually do on lantern rite, not knowing what to do with it I ended up dropping it on weapon banner and got Homa back to back.

That incident with Tectone made me not pull for the weapon banner for more than 3 years. I only pulled once, on Navia cause i liked her and had wishes to spare, or else i would've skipped it.
Never got multiple 5* in one 10 pull. be me, never luck xD

The funniest part about this was even after the introduction of the epitomized path for the weapon banner.
Tectone would do the exact same thing again, why? Because he forgot to actually select his weapon for the epitomized path.
(This is the reason why a red exclamation mark is shown over that path to remind you to select your path lol)

Pulling on weapon banners could be REALLY GOOD if you're aiming for a 4 star weapon. Weapons like the Alley Flash are only found on the weapon banner, nd its the best 4 star for Bennett.
Although pulling for a 5 star weapon on the weapon banner could inly be really viable if both weapons are good for your account.
(I'll pull on the weapon banner in 4.5 as f2p, for Chiori's signature as someone with Albedo nd no Cinnabar Spindle, but even if i get Redhorn Stonethresher it'd be very nice since i have itto as well 💀👍)
Its best to not pull on it, maybe the new chronicled wish could be a replacement for weapon banner in general ig

the thing about game having to reveal % of getting stuff from lootboxes came from Granblue Fantasy. We call it Monkeygate. At that time there was Chinease Zodiac character from year of the monkey and one dude spend fuckload of money and didn't even got her. It went super viral and Japan and other Asian countries made the law that games must now show how much chance you have to get something and that there must be a way to guaranted to get that item (so Granblue got "spark" system aka after 300roll on one banner you can pick up desired character from current banner)

If ppl watched early content they would realise how bad this game really is and there is still no point in going for the weapon and that is only if you don’t want a new character for 3 patches and loved the character, it should be changed again it’s already on the character one. It’s a good base just nothing really has changed

I've been a f2p player since I started Genshin at 2.3… I always heard how bad the weapon banner is and I didn't wish on it until I did. I've gotten 5 sig. weap. from the weapon banner up until now and all BACK TO BACK without using a SINGLE fate point. And then one of my friends show me the Tectone situation and I REALLY feel lucky. Somebody call Mona cuz idfk how the stars are aligned for me, a nobody, having the exact opposite luck from a well known Streamer.

I'll say this… I C6R5 Eula on her debut banner, and I'm pretty sure it didn't take me $2k to get there. I believe Aquila was the weapon running with Broken Pines at the time and while I did miss twice or three times, I only got one copy of Aquila (which at the time I was also wanting a copy of). Fast forward to present day, I still have R1 Aquila. I do also have R1 WGS, but that's another story… 😊
Don't worry he made the money back tenfold from all the drama farming he does.
I forgot to choose my 5 star weapon before wishing for Engulfed Lightning, I don’t get why it would be off by default… I got Yoimiya’s bow and I don’t even have a fate point as a consolation prize.

I don’t know why I still bother wishing on weapon banner as a f2p cuz even with the paths, I still lose my 50/50s and run out of fates before I can guarantee the weapon I want (ex. I have r2 navia’s weapon when I don’t have Navia)
I only pull on the weapon banner when i want both weapons really really bad
