  1. I pulled on 5* weapon banner when I needed the 4 and 5 star weapons so I can build more characters. I have every 4* and I enjoy them very much. I like swapping teams a lot so they are all decently built with their own builds. As such, I have very random smattering of 5* weapons. I haven’t pulled in a while because the event weapons have held me over.

  2. The differenve can be higher than numbers show. In practice there are break points and team rotations. Often you can defeat an enemy in either one rotation or in two rotations. A speciffic weapon can make that difference. This means sometimes you are two times faster with BIS and that is 100% team damage increase.

  3. If you have good artifacts, then 5* weapons don’t matter much, but if you are still building characters and teams, a 5* weapon helps push past certain damage thresholds where you might be able to clear a chamber without an additional rotation. For people struggling to get 36*, this is a bug deal.

Basically, the longer you have played Genshin, the less valuable 5* weapons are. But newer players also don’t have the extra rolls to throw around, so it’s up to the individual on how much they want to invest on powering up a specific character versus building more team variety.

  4. So Wriothesley’s best team being reverse melt (with Bennett, Nahida and Thoma), his signature is calc’ed to be 30% better than Lost Prayer. It depends on how much of a hypercarry role you will giving to your main DPS in order to justify the weapon investment.

Weapons like EL on Raider are not a bad investment, they improve team damage by indirectly lowering teammate ER requirement allowing offensive stats to be more. It is not as easy a choice for supports compared to main DPs units.

  5. 5 star weapons are broke and r4-5 is a scam r1-3 is huge having a 5 star option that is good on your char is a 20-30% dmg increase in the most Szenarios. There are cases where 4* or even 3* options can provide something a 5 star doesn't have or simply is the best in slot cause of a charackters kit but for most chars their signature weapon is rly broken to have. But you can clear hardest content without them ofc

  6. Might be easier to recommend 5 star weapons if the weapon banner wasn't cancer. Why the hell they make weapons so much harder to obtain than the characters I'll never understand.

Epitomized path should be after failing to get your weapon once not twice. I tried pulling for Lofi and lost 50/50 to Jade spear and after that I got Freedom Sworn and didn't have enough wishes left. Have never wished on weapon banner again, it only exists to drain your wishes.

  7. You’re missing one important factor which is that most five star weapons are a way to guarantee stats and in particular crit. If you only play in Microsoft Excel then it’s easy to just get all the stats you need to make the four star seem favourable. But that’s not reality.

  8. i think the better way to look at things is how well a weapon works on many characters so for example childe doesn't really need polar star but that weapon can be amazing on so many characters that it'd still be worth pulling. there are a few weapons that are really future proof and i can't see why they'd not be worth pulling (for example homa, tome, jade cutter/key of khaj nisut, redhorn and polar/aqua)

  9. Coming from Honkai Impact 3rd, I always had this mindset: you only pull signature weapons for main DPS, and only if said DPS contributes with over 50% of the total team damage by themselves. So I only have weapons for the likes of Ayaka, Hu Tao, Neuvillette, Ganyu and Raiden Shogun. Lately, I can kinda regretting having pulled for Hu Tao, since both of her best teams negate the effects of Homa, but it's still the best weapon I have for her, so w/e.

For sub DPS, you should NEVER pull for their weapons, unless they offer a damage buff for the rest of the team. So weapons like Venti's, Kazuha's, Xianyun are nice, but for someone like Nahida or Furina, is huge waste of Primogems and I think would whales should ever pull for these.

  10. im wondering what are the dmg% shown based on, because kazu being 9% or benny being ONLY 1% damage contribution of the team feel EXTREMELY WRONG for them being known as the strongest units in the game. buff, res shred, etc are still part of their personnal damage contribution in a team

  11. They're not a scam. I slapped on Alhaithems weapon on Bennett and he's doing 100k more dmg on his E than R5 Lions Roar and R2 Aquila. Edit: approx 200k per E as opposed to 100k

  12. This video gives an excellent reason why the weapon banner needs to be changed. 5 star weapons offer very little value over a new character or constellations. E.g., if you have to choose between a Furina or an Engulfing Lightning, you're better off going for Furina and even a few of her constellations.

I don't think it's too much to ask to get rid of the 33/66 on the weapon banner. Most of the time, you just want the signature weapons for the drip.

  13. One thing worth noting about the Redhorn… it is good for Itto, but it also is great for Noelle and Xinyan. The latter especially. So it is a five star weapon… that also essentially gives you a new four star to play.

That said, the biggest hindrance to five star weapons is the weapon banner system. It is just so full of fail, with two featured weapons, the five four star ones, the pain of getting refines for the weapon banner only four star ones, and so n. It, I'd say, is probably number 3 on my list of things Genshin needs to address. #1 being lack of an endgame/stuff to do when we have more time to play and #2 the amount of artifact RNG.

  14. Well for alhaitham and apparently u compare it with hod, its pretty low upgrade. But in a team like kuki full em and furina the hp will hard to maintain to above 90. Thats why i dont like this team coz i use hod. The reason i really wnst foliar is not only have higher stat its also no hp restrictions. Thus giving us more and more and more consistency in every team (furina x kuki em, hyperblom etc, quicken)

  15. I only got reborn, and now maybe I will get chioris weapon. Just because i don’t like the fact that hod needs the character to stay above 90% health. I use that for albedo but all it takes is one hit to be lower and then I can’t heal him back because I use him with bennet

  16. A 5* weapon on childe is a huge increase, just looking at the calcs already gives a very misguided idea of how be performs so just saying he has a "low" dmg contribution because his on paper dmg is low isnt really accurate.

  17. I would go for these weapons if the weapons aren't shared in a banner. Starting 1.4, Hsr has already ran separate lightcone banners with Topaz and Seele. This made me feel more confident on going for the sig lightcones I want since I don't have to worry about winning 50/50 after winning 75/25.

There is no reason that Genshin's weapon banner remains shared for years. Even as a welkin/bp buyer, I would still not go for the weapon banners. Not feeling confident in getting the 5* star weapon I want because there's a chance that I can lose the 50/50 once or worst, twice…after winning the 75/25…

  18. I don't know all thew ins and outs of the banner changes soon to drop in 4.5, but I sincerely hope that they radically lower the barrier of entry for folks so we can pick up more 5 star weapons. Granted, I do prioritize heroes over weapons when pulling, but I've been playing since launch and I have all but five characters … and only eight 5-star weapons. I just wish the math did a much better job of incentivizing weapon pulls. Oh well, one can hope!

  19. Same reason leveling talents is better than trying luck with getting perfect artifacts, 5* weapons (as well as 5* constellations) are guaranteed damage increase which compensates lack skill/effort/teambuilding/luck (in that order).
Also, watchig this video means we are kinda deep in the hole already.
Whales do not theorycraft, they just delete mobs by looking in their direction.

  20. for me 5 star weapon only worth to pull if you have spare primo, like i have guaranteed on character banner with 10 pity but i have some 90 pull to spend in this month, yeah i think maybe just depending on the weapon and what character and team etc

  21. Another thing I wanted to add regarding the 5 star weapons is how often they arent the best options just based on what artifacts you have available. I have SoH for HuTao but rarely use it on her because I have yet to roll a decent crit rate circlet. So the RNG of artifact farming can essentially stop a character from properly maximizing the increase their signature weapon offers because of overall stat balance.

  22. So what about support weapons like Elegy? are they more valuable than sub-dps weapons?
I don't plan to pull for any but was just curious since he brought up weapons for dps roles in the video.

  23. One thing ppl never talk about when they bring up HSR is that in HSR you pretty much can't go without a weapon on your brand new 5 star that you just got, otherwise they'll be way way worse than without. While in genshin so many characters, even hypercarries have some f2p weapons that are not that much worse than their own signature.
Also wanna talk about power creep? People compare hsr to Genshin like it's 2 exactly the same games. They gave away Dr ratio who's actually a good 5 star. The thing ppl should complain is not how many free pulls they're getting but about all the QoL things that have been added to hsr long time ago and nowhere to be seen in genshin.
