  2. 11:53 Im f2p and the last abyss was my first 36*. When I tried this one I felt like my characters were on the level of 1/2 year ago. People on Reddit were like „wow this abyss was so easy I finished every floor in <60 secs with xilonen / navia / zhongli“. Now hearing the HP numbers I’m actually impressed that I managed 33*. I was like Raiden national 7 mio dmg in less than 2:30 min? Damn

  3. I actually understand why the gave the enemies this much health now . I noticed that they werent dying and i actually started questioning my character build . Offcourse the are shit but not shit enough to be struggling this hard and after watching the video i actually understand that they are trying to push xilonen and her kit with this abyss . If you have xilonen this abyss doesnt even matter for you but if you dont have her you are gonna struggle. Same as the last abyss where the gave night soul priority but this time the gave enemies higher resistance and health so to actually do damage you need a defence shredder like kazuha or xilonen . This gets more atrocious when you realise that till floor 12-1 kazuha works but after that even he is a far cry due to the limitations. Endgame content are not supposed to be changing this much that to when the give you only 800 max and its only 5 pulls

  4. Can confirm. just finished upgrading my 2 team working (arlecchino vape premium & alhaitham hyperbloom) and i do almost the same amount of damage i used to deal with my unfinished builds :/
    For the first time since 3 months i got 8stars on my first clear of floor 11… I think i'm just going to stay clear from floor 12 from now on.

  5. 10:19 Who says Noelle ist strong enough to be your main carry? Of course she is much weaker than other carrys BUT she still can carry the abyss , in fact she is the Geo carry i used this new Abyss i am not just talking about theory 😂

  6. 11:58 I only recently got my first 36 on spiral abyss and I’ve been playing since the beginning of sumeru. My honest reaction with this floor 12 is basically what you said here. I don’t mind challenge but I am not losing my sanity because I’m finally one second off clearing a floor that ive tried over 100 times, rearranging artifacts, buffing talents, etc. 100 primos are just not worth it and never will be to me.

    Also, I wish they’d do what zzz did where you get 5 minutes to beat the enemies but I know a lot of people would get mad too because the difficulty would get set real low so I’m just gonna play everything else 🤷 at least I like imaginarium theatre!

  7. I wonder how different Genshin would be if the Spiral Abyss wasn't just a dps check. If from the beginning the end game, SA had required players to play more defensively or actually gave enough time to engage in fun gimmicks I imagine that the newly designed character would follow suit and be better at things other than high damage. And maybe artifacts with high def or hp rolls would have been useful in certain scenarios.

  8. I had to brute force 12-1-2 with Nilou Bloom because my strongest geo teams and overload (yes, with chevreuse) just weren't enough.

    And another thing is that they've been using the wave after wave mechanic to increase the difficulty, which is so cheap and lame. Like, why won't you put all the enemies there at the same time? What are you scared of? I'm sure the answer is obvious to everyone, and that's why they went with this repetitive workaround.

  9. This Abyss was crazy. The first time I tried it I cleared the last two floors effortlessly, but the first chamber was a pain in the ass. One of my most invested units, Fischl was doing like no damage at all and it felt like this Abyss had extra waves just because. The beasts wouldn't reveal their gem even though they were like 30% hp and with Zhongli and Navia in the second half destroying every geo shield in a second I was still lacking damage. Like wtf

    In the end I used Xingqui, Yelan Arlechino and Xilonen in the first half, and Rosaria, Xiangling, Navia and Zhongli in the second (mind that every 5* is C0 and Navia, Arle and Xilonen have their signatures) and still managed to clear it at 7:00 time, bearly making it.

    Even though I had a tailor made team for the second half I BEARLY MANAGED TO MAKE IT. Sorry but if this continues Sumeru characters wont be useable in like 2 months (maybe Nilou will). I tried many teams in the first half, like Wanderer, hyperblom (I don't have Alhaitham), freeze, whatever but nothing worked. This Abyss is a pay to win pokemon gym battle

  10. The Legatus Golem isn't even the beefiest boy here with the shield up. It's the Veteran Arithmetic Enhancer Mek with his whopping 210% resistance (as far as I can tell). If its health is exactly 50% increased over its last appearance, that's a whopping effective 27 mil HP with the shield up.

    The math sorta checks out, because with my multi million shark bite Mualani almost 1 cycled the Legatus Golem while shielded, but only brought down Mek boi's health by 1/3 with the shield up. I really wanna be able to kill it straight up at some point for the memes, but the shield still takes chip damage, and the moment its shield goes down it folds in on itself like paper mache in a trash compacter.

    That said though, the constant HP bloating of abyss over the years combined with gradual power creep from nation to nation does have me worried for the game's balance. Sumeru raised the average damage floor, so the abyss rose in response. Fontaine raised the high investment damage ceiling and the abyss again raised in response. Now with Natlan we're starting to see some characters that are pushing really insane numbers, and it has me worried about the state of the game for the average player when 6.0 rolls around. Especially if all the harbingers get dropped on us in quick succession, and Hoyo sees this as an opportunity to push out even crazier kits.

  11. Not noticing the hp increase is hoyos way of telling me I’ve spent to much time and money on this game 😕

    But seriously. Abyss has to get harder over time because characters just get stronger. I recently did a 1.x character challenge where I beat abyss only with characters released before 2.0 and it’s really difficult even with highly invested characters. Though I agree that arbitrary difficulty through elemental shields and such is not the ways to go.

  12. This abyss was so disheartening. I FINALLY 36-starred it a few cycles ago and I was super excited. Next patch, 33 stars. Ok, fine. Keep leveling up, etc etc. But I felt myself getting closer each time and then…thisssss. I'm currently at 34 stars because the golem was, shockingly, not horrible with Chiori and Dehya, and I'm like 10 seconds off on the Veteran Arithmetic Enhancer Mek because Lyney is squishy and I'm getting sloppy, but I'm CLOSE. But 12-1? Impossible and I'm thinking not worth my stress level.

  13. I got my 36* using C5 Noelle against the centaur, so that is definitely possible, but she is built, since I like her, and has an expensive team (Yelan, C1 Furina, Xilonen)
    Also I am kinda surprised about the hp increase, since I usually only get 33/34 stars (I don’t go back and try again)
    last Abyss I got the 36, new Region always easier ig it was definitely more fun like that, but this one I got 35 first try (missing one in the first chamber, which I got with a different team) maybe I was just cooking with the team selection though.
    I still totally agree with all your points though, it just didn’t apply as much to this abyss specifically for me.

  14. This explains a lot. I've been playing since February 2024. And have got characters like Neuvillette, Kazuha, Furina, Nahida, Yalen, C6 Chevy, Raiden. Kuki, Xingqiu, Etc. Mainly good characters for clears. And yet I only managed 33 stars. I remember the geo check being in the 4.7/4.8 abyss and now that I have a overload team I still can't clear second half of Floor 12. Because of this bull. It would be so much better if they just didn't make both a extremely high hp abyss along with a geo check.

  15. tbh i think spiral abyss should be more like the abyss or whatever its called in hi3rd where there's ranks and the higher the rank the more difficult it gets ofc it gives better rewards but it isnt that significant difference

  16. In a nutshell this abyss was "if you think it works it will absolutely not work" and the most effective method was just brute forcing your way through everything because geo makes absolutely no sense here

  17. This is such an unexpected take to me. This was the single easiest abyss for me in the last year.

    Then again, I skipped every character in Fontaine but Furina and Navia…. and I got both Mualani and Xilonen…. So maybe I just powerspiked my account more recently than most people and got lucky with the team requirements this abyss

Imo the abyss's bigest problem is how it is only two challenges, iether defend the monolite or a clock race, and that the lack of variety makes it very vulnerable to strategic dominance, or as we all call it META! In an arms race that gets stale quicker each time it repeats, and how often they increase all resistances hurts some characters more than others, wich hurts a lot of players more than others

    You know how fun is 100 crit rate tartaglia against a crowd of monsters? Imagine how fun would a mode with hundreds of low hp monsters would be? Give the abyss varierty, or some buffs to characters in order to compensate short conmings, like turning phisiscal damage into true damage

  19. Hah, being into Genshin enough to find your channel does not mean I am good enough to 36 star. I got 31 stars last abyss and that's the most I've EVER gotten (been playing since 3.6)

    I got one star on this floor 12 because i don't have any geo character above level 20 and Beidou, god bless her soul, was just not enough. Part of me wants to try an overload comp, except I don't have chevreuse, so that's going to be fun. Lisa, Xiangling, Bennett, and probably Fischl because all three of those characters want energy. Ugh. But I can't do that because International is on the first half, so fuck me I guess. I could try for my Venti Hypercarry side 1 (which is going to suck because even my top 2% venti cannot deal damage quick enough for those fat fucking scorpions), then, since that takes up Bennett: Lisa, Xiangling, Fischl, Kazuha? Or Baizhu, the burning aura and healing might help.

    Honestly at this point I might have to level up Ningguang because fuck these constant fucking geo checks. It was annoying when Navia came out, it's even more annoying now that they buffed the HP an ungodly amount.
