  1. "In the perpetual meantime of a sheltered eternity, most are content to live, and not to dream.

But in the hidden corners where the gods' gaze does not fall, there are those who dream of dreaming.

Some say a few are chosen and the rest are dregs, but I say we humans have our humanity.

We will defy this world with a power from beyond." – Dainsleif – Travail

I will always come back to this quote, because I do believe Dain is directly stating the plot of the game here. It's poignant, beautifully written, and seems more and more relevant with each patch and after every new connection theory crafters make, especially everything you've mentioned in this video roozevelt.

  3. 21:20 I don't think it's goofy that you made the connection. let's not forget the dialog between liben and the Traveller right before the natlan patch as it suggests their trying to make that connection as well

  4. It's ok Roozevelt, from the beginning of the game (until now I'm holding on by a thread here) I'm a firm believer that the entirety of the game is loosely based on Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles. Lol. Why else does the Abyss sibling have a data in Irminsul unless they're not the real one.🤭

  5. Considering HSR x hi3rd collab and now 5.1 all of them being in pretty much save time frame happening they might be cooking hard something with all of this
Imagine mega crossover event happening in the future after this unfolds all the way

  6. Amazing video but I keep hearing this mistake about Azathoth. It doesn't dreams the reality, it's sleeping because if it wakes up, it will devour everything in the universe. Mana yood sushai from the "gods of pegana" is the god who dreams reality.

  7. Remember how back in 2.8 Amy’s Immernachtreich was literally a kingdom made of her daydreams with its own unique culture and history ? ( yeah sure it wasn’t completely original bc of the Flowers for Princess Fischl rp but stick with me ), well, on gaa it manifested as a mirage, and mirages aren’t real but they’re still visible, well if we’re rolling with the idea that teyvat is some sort of dream, the fact that the Immernachtreich was made of Amy’s daydreams and became this weird illusion that somewhere between being real or not, makes me wonder if the real Fischl is the one who dreamed/imagined teyvat into existence, not sure how this can work with the Fischl is Khaenri’ahn theory bc that kinda seems more plausible than my theory but there is something here I can feel it

So glad you mentioned Vera’s melancholy tho !! One of my fav books in game bc of how mysterious it seems, both Vera’s Melancholy and the crumbs we have of Flowers for Princess Fischl give me similar vibes so I often think about them along the same lines together, sometimes I wonder if Mr Nine also wrote Vera’s Melancholy and put another version of Fischl in it the same way he did with The Shattered Halberd and Flowers for Princess Fischl, maybe it’s Vera, maybe it’s the Princess, or maybe he split Fischl’s character in two and both Vera and the Princess are half Fischl, I don’t know really but I think there’s a connection here

  8. It's funny, for the past decade or so, Elder Scrolls lore has been a constant fixation of mine. Getting into Genshin has been weird. On the surface, it wouldn't appear to have much in common with the Elder Scrolls series outside of being an open world RPG. But when I start to scratch the surface of the lore, they seem to share a surprisingly similar core. It's actually canon for TES (or at least a very well supported theory, canon is slightly fuzzy with this series) that its world is dreamed up by a sleeping godhead. So. I feel right at home with this theory.

Also "The Blind Idiot God" is giving me Kaeya hangout flashbacks. Even when he's not explicitly mentioned, his presence is felt.

  9. 22:25 in this event, nahida asks the traveler “what if this all is just a dream” at the end of the event.. I found it interesting and didn’t see anyone else mentioning it so decided to say it here since it was brought up

  10. so… some thoughts that came to mind:
    1. its curious to me that azazoth is known as the "primordial demiurge" in lovecraftian myths, cuz as we know, genshin has a lot of gnosticism in it, n it just happens that in gnosticism the demiurge is often attributed with the role of the "creator of the universe and lesser gods", a role in genshin which has been attributed to the primordial one n i cant help but wonder if somehow, the primordial one is connected to azazoth.
    2. the whole deal with tyevat potentially being a dream of a higher entity reminds me of hi3's kevin's plan. the tl;dr of it was "bro wanted to evolve the human race to a stage where they were able to deal with honkai, but everyone that was not able to evolve ended up in a comatose state n in a "shared dream". in hi3, the main cast goes n defeat kevin n this plan doesnt succeed. but i wonder if tyevat is not a result of a somewhat similar plan, by either the primordial one, or even an older entity.
    3. in light of this previous point n the dream theory, dainsleif words in the travail video, take a whole new meaning.

  11. Just the title "my backyard is slightly bigger than the entire universe" does hint to a potential make-believe universe, Vera's melancholy is the ultimate cheat book for genshin lore.

  12. Guess my final wish for Genshin not ending up being a Honkai's dog dream will never be fulfilled..
And it's an interesting concept considering that it explains "Teyvat has it's own laws" and inteyvat flower, but I will forever brag how bad of an ending it would be if it's gonna end up as Honkai related thing.
Tears of Themis you are the only one safe,I hope..

  13. I think the traveller is the dreamer. But like Nilou in the Sumeru AQ, the traveler cannot add anything too outlandish to the dream if he/she doesn't know that they are in a dream in the first place

  14. Of course the sky is red. The stars are being swallowed; the whole cosmos, as we learned, is ending. And – if we go with the idea of cosmic heat death as possible scenario for the end of the universe – at the end, all the cosmos will look red-shifted. BUT since the whole thing is a samsaric loop, the last moment is also the first, so in year zero the sky looks red.

  15. That dreamscape and story book theory is intriguing because y'all remember how memories and existence in Teyvat can be altered? That we already witnessed the erasure of some people from memories, or that fabricated memories can be interested to the mind of people?

  16. as soon as I saw the dust of Azoth, I immediately knew where alchemy was going in genshin's world. I'm really hoping that the traveler ends up being something crazy like the secret manifestation of Azathoth's dormant consciousness and they're completely unaware.
