  1. This shook me… hard. I just want the traveler to find his sibling so badly… I went through this myself, and I feel like tonight… is going to be a little restless for me.

  2. A common misconception about this quest is. Alot of people think the traveler / mc is the abyss twin. The fact is actually that we saw through the eyes of the abyss twin. Maybe around the time they descended on to Teyvat

  3. Summery of Abyss Twin's timeline according to this quest and previous archon quests:

    1. Khaenri'ah summoned the Abyss Sibling, and they responded and became the Prince or Princess of Khaenri'ah. But they still failed to defend Khaenri'ah in the war Heavenly Principal waged against Khaenri'ah.

    2. At the moment when Khaenri'ah fell, the Abyss Twin woke up their sibling (i.e. Main Character) from their meteor and they attempted to flee Teyvat together, but were both stopped and sealed away by the Sustainer of Heavenly Principal.

    3. Somehow the Abyss Sibling escaped from the clutches of the Sustainer of Heavenly Principals and started travelling Teyvat with Dainsleif. While they were at Sumeru, the Abyss Sibling met Chlothar Aberiche and saved his son Caribert. From that point on, the Abyss Sibling started to habour thoughts about joining the Abyss Order, but kept their thoughts from Dainsleif.

    4. Some years later the Abyss Sibling completed their journey around Teyvat with Dainsleif, their relationship broke down, and Abyss Sibling joined Abyss Order and took over leadership from Chlothar, and declared war against Destiny.

    5. Present day, Main Character wakes up, finds Paimon, learns Teyvat's language and starts another journey around Teyvat following their sibling's footsteps.

  4. Yall didn't they say that they were the sinners that's why the gods destroyed their nation
And they also said that they were waiting for the abyss twin and nahida said that at the time of the cataclysm forbidden knowledge rose again and that forbidden knowledge was one that didn't belong to teyvat
So what if they tried to reach the twins to help them build their nation stronger but was punished by Celestia?

  5. I play Genshin using JP dub and the VA did an amazing job especially at 3:15 when the traveler asked where Calibert was Clothar practically screamed at us and it scared the shit out of me from how raw it was

  6. Chlothar's voice acting makes me unsettled, it's remarks of Dark Souls 1's NPCs with all of the gaggling insanity as he's downward spiralling into the abyss, much like how certain characters succumb into hollowing or drawn into "dark soul"/humanity gone wild (driven mad by "The Abyss", like either Manus Father of The Abyss or the case of the fall of New Londo by The Four Kings creating Abyssal catastrophe by allured by a dark serpent which is Darkstalker Kaathe, which driving the tangible powers of their humanity wild)

I'm not sure if it's intentional or not, I really like the parallel between Khaenri'ah abyss and Dark Souls' trilogy recurring thematic obsession with "Dark Soul"/Abyss, it does hearken familiarity to old dark souls players with it's "deep lore", like me

  7. I still have a hard time accepting this damaged individual had the capacity to be the founding member of the Abyss Order. Sure the motivation is there but I just don't think he has the focus to accomplish anything substantial.

I forgot Dainsleif stating how Clothar lost his mind entirely and died 100 years later but it's confusing since he also questions if Clothar was able to escape the curse. Either way he seems like a tool to me and I could never take someone like that seriously.

  8. I just realized there's kind of a large plot hole here. Mainly the curse of immortality. Eide/Clothar and Dainsleif both mention the effects of Erosion. Dainsleif talks about losing his memories, cuz he obviously never kept a journal. But really how exactly is the curse of immortality actually stopping them from dying? Do they reanimate after being beheaded or eaten, if they are cremated or drowned do they magically return to life? To me it sounds like all the pure blood Khaenriahn's are still all alive somewhere like the undead. They just seem to lack something like vampirism to rejuvenate themselves. They certainly are not blessed with the spirit of the Eldar it would seem. Anyways I'm getting off topic, my main point is there are other ways to die even for immortals.

But let's say they respawn after being crushed to death, eaten by wild animals whatever the case may be. Well then there body would have to be reconstituted somehow in which case wouldn't that solve the Erosion or does the curse take a bit away each time? Also if they are losing their memories then isn't it possible to forget what even happened to them? You know eventually you'd think you might come to terms with your new reality and just move on right. Isn't that the point of the whole Isekai trope? There definitely seems to be a lack in emotional fortitude with Clothar, he was a completely broken man bit let's really think about it. Some Khaenriahns had to have died before the curse right otherwise why is his wife not still alive? So basically isn't it just survivors guilt playing out here? He had everything and lost it all and never tried to rebuild his life after that? Sounds like the biggest loser. Honestly his revenge could have been exposing what happened to the rest of the world through writing, he is immortal after all, what are the God's gonna do kill him? He could honestly walk into any town and murder everyone with a dull sword if he's actually immortal. He would just have to avoid being captured, or imprisoned as I assume eternal torture not to be very pleasant. But seriously if he just wanted to die, there had to have been options. Biggest plot hole ever imo.

Final thought: How do we explain all the hilichurl masks we've accumulated? Along with the remains from Abyss mages, etc. The Hilichurls obviously respawn after sometime, there don't appear to be any child sized ones unless they are all children aside from the bigger and older looking ones. Something to consider since Caribert sounded like a child in a hilichurl size body. If the curse of immortality literally means they respawn after dying then isn't that like making them invincible? What's to stop them from taking over the entire world? Have they never heard of Wrath of the Lich King or the Whitewalker's from Game of Thrones? Maybe they haven't but I surely have and that sounds like a terrible idea to gift your enemy. What was Celestia thinking?

  9. there was a theory back in early Genshin that the traveler siblings are the same person, experienced the whole adventure, changed gender, then went back in time and lost their memory

    WHO SAID THAT?!

  10. Ok i have some crack pot theory i hatched up so based on the fact that the world tree has info of our twin and that we looked into a mirror and had the memories flood into our head after looking into a mirror showing our twin i just thought….maybe the twin we are chasing isnt our twin but a fake and the real twin is in a mirror copy of the world we are in. Experiencing the same stuff we are, while chasing after a fake twin also. Thats just a inkling i have.
