  1. All the sinners have been SOMEWHERE during the last 500 years. Now due to the abyss's different time scaling, If they're in the abyss that moves slower than teyvat so for them it hasnt been 500 years.
.Given that surtologi's SPECIAL power they got shortly before khaenriah's fall (like gold's is alchemical creation) is most likely transformation then enjou would be the perfect proxy. my theory (although it is a big grotesque) is that the sinner's "ate" bits of the "second who came" and gained portions of it's power transforming themselves.
Now whether they did this willingly or not is another question.

  2. He’s honestly such a joy and fascinating character, amazing overview and so glad you provided such an insightful perspective and focus on him!

Also amazing suggestions regarding incorporating these known and loved NPCs more into the lore and world, it would really be desirable and expensive, if only Hoyo listens!

  3. I think Enjou is going to be one of the most critical partsvof thecEndgame of Genshin. He is clearly researching the banned history of Tevyat, and accumulating rare resources, yet he is a "low ranking member of the Abyss order".

And yet, he has not allowed the Abyss to consume him, or become a cog like the normal Lectors.
He even has friendships with non-abyss entity without corrupting them.

I really think he is working parallel to the Sibling's Abyss Order, and seeks to tear down the False Sky. As Genshin has already been confirmed to be in the Honkai universe, i truly believe that the Abyss is the Honkai infection that got through during the Cataclysm, and the Sustainer created the Fake Sky as an attempt to preserve Tevyat as long as she could. Traveler and thier Sibling were too dangerous, as previous Descenders resulted in more explosions of the Abyss.

  4. Ironic that world quest NPC's are vastly more fleshed out that character quest NPC's. I hope they do return in the near future and possibly become playable, namely Jeht, Rana, Enjou etc.

  5. I honestly think it would be more interesting if he's just a rogue clerk. I'm not saying he's not important, just that he's not (at the moment) super powerful. Doesn't mean he isn't working on 'something', and his relationship with fire sure is interesting. I think watching Enjou BECOME powerful, would be more interesting than him just being this powerful being already. Even more interesting is to see how he doesn't exactly follow the lead of the abyss order, he's just kind of doing his own thing -which suggests other lectors aren't FORCED to work for the abyss order, or something about him specifically is different. With the story of Natlan so far, I wonder if 'the abyss order' is NOT the same as 'the abyss'.

  6. Enjou's one of those recurring characters that if we kill at the end of our journey would have an accepted (albeit bittersweet) fulfilling character arc, but if someone else killed the entire community would hunt down the perpetrator like a linch mob.

  7. Based on some secret info: He's Rhinedottir's malewife and actually just Baizhu in disguise. Just wait.
Also: Enjou = Jiaoqiu (HSR). Foxians (HSR) = Seelie in Genshin? Based on that Foxes in Dandelion Sea book.

  8. One of the interactions that really made me like Enjou was during the Enkanomiya story quest when he got scared by a ghost. It added so much depth to his character. If his reaction was genuine, it opens up a new perspective on the Abyss Order—those creatures that all of Teyvat fears also have their own fears.

And if he was faking it (which I doubt), it's still an interesting moment. Why suddenly commit to that act when you’ve been dropping hints throughout the world quest😭? He didn’t even hesitate to use his powers…if I remember correctly, even pea brained Paimon noticed how fast he was for a human.

  9. Despite not being in the game, that official teaser from 2 years ago indicates Enjou might be closer to the abyss twin than he leads on. It was the second time we've heard his voice, so I'm surprised it's not in the video

  10. Came for Enjou lore. But what actually drew me in was the constant mention of the name "Mare Jivari" – a land where even the Wind does not blow. The most notorious destination among adventurers. The place where Bennett was found abandoned, raising questions if he is from Natlan. This place was in our radar from back when the game was launched.

  11. I remember enkanomiya so well. I explored it and did the story in 2.4, did its event in 2.5, and haven't touched it since. Seriously. I haven't been there since.

  13. being in 5.1 I don't understand how I manage to keep the flame of my love to him burning for months without really knowing if he returns (there were 1 year 5 months 29 days between Luminous Glimmer and White Day) one day

  14. Hmm, you didn't mention the part of Enjou making a report to Lumine about the Traveler. I thought that was very cute.
As for returning NPCs, I would love to see Jeht return, preferably as playable, and Zhiqiong.
