The Fall Of Genshin Impact…

Following their disastrous one year anniversary event, MiHoYo is scrambling to censor criticism of Genshin Impact but it might be too late.

  2. TLDR: Srsly what the heck is GI Community even thinking. Did they really think this game is an actual "free" game? Like look at the toxicity, saying it's because they're chinese, because they're greedy etc. Even if it's a game it's still a business first and foremost. Mihoyo didn't spend thousands if not millions of dollars just to make a game and give it away for free. There's this thing called ROI (Return of Investment) and the larger that initial investment is, the longer it takes to makeup for it via revenue. And this rewards overall is just right with how much toxicity and self entitlement the community is doing rn not only to their respective game but also Hi3 and Mihoyo overall.

Long ver: As a gacha connoisseur who's an Engineer on the side, lemme give my thoughts on why this "rewards" are fair imo.

HUMAN EXPENSES – How many employees/staffs, VAS, investors, and company upkeep do they think Mihoyo is paying? Do they really think only a few nerds in their moms' basement do all of these work to give the game to the community for free?

EQUIPMENT – How many PCs, Servers, Studios and other

specialized does the company use and the electricity fees for those? For this large of a player base, I expect also a large amount of servers are in use, not to mention the replacement parts needed for each one just to keep the game running 24/7. Do they really think these games run on the clouds literally (pun intended).

REAL ESTATE – How many buildings does those personnels, equipments take up? How much rent, electric, water and food bills does that total to?
INTERNET – Yep even companies pay their net bills. Now think how much GB/s if not TB/s does it take to keep each player connected to the servers.

MISC EXPENSES + TAXES – How much tax does Mihoyo pay for their income? How about for Google Play/Apple/ Sony fees? How about their ads expenses? Include the company/enterprise taxes, personnel taxes, real estate taxes, and other stuffs that each region/continent put on top of those.

Now times all of these to the number of regions available(CN, SEA, Global). Like sheesh do they really think just because the player base is large that equals to revenue? Even if you add those P2W income it might seem large but if you average that to the player count then that number becomes miserable.

Did they even look at H13 1st anniv and the rewards? Those rewards are made to increase per year if the game keeps on making more money. Now if Mihoyo did put a ridiculous large reward on 1st anniv, how much would it be on the following years. Remember each freebies they give away equals to lost income for the company, especially so for a really large player base.

Also did they really think their attitudes during this 1st year

are even good? Issues upon issues that aren't even really

connect to the game if you just think about it with eommon

uncommon sense. Imagine the effects of those stupidity for the company and their investors. Now would you give rewards back to those people who tried to ruin your image and make them think that even with those shitty attitudes they'll get something nice? Yeah this "reward" is just right.

Now that I got that out of my system, Imma go back to work. Thank you for coming to my Ted Fedup-talk.

  5. I've been playing since the first month. I can't tell you how dedicated I am, playing on multiple accounts almost daily. And I can't tell you how disappointed I am by mihoyo.

It's not just the shitty rewards that makes this so unacceptable. It's that the things we do in the game gives us a quarter of a pull. We've had to endure this shit on a DAILY BASIS, and you would expect an anniversary to be generous. Nope.

  6. Tried the game, felt scummy and overpriced, apparently the devs are even cheaper then I gave them credit for. Gameplay seemed decently fun, not enough to overcome the jarring "hey give us your money" reminders for me. They also try to guilt you for uninstalling off desktop, super cool having a bunch of sad anime characters looking at you.

  8. I’m totally fine with how they dish out their primos , but this event should have been something awesome and meaningful to day 1 players like myself. This seriously felt like they don’t care about you loving and playing their game. It felt more like a toss of a quarter to a homeless man begging for food

  9. I personally think that the amount of toxicity coming from this disaster is slowly getting out of hand and that's probably why they are reluctant to respond because they are afraid of adding fuel to this massive dumpsterfire. I'll give them the benefit of a doubt and assume that they are just silently collecting feedback and focusing on doing something to deal with this mess.
