  1. SPOILERS

Having played through both acts of the Fontaine archon quest, it's easy to forget that at the beginning of act 1, tartaglia was acting as a loanshark, trying to get back the money from the Confrerie of Cabriere, which is the organisation founded by Marcel (Vacher), who was the culprit for the serial disappearances case. Being the "in charge" of Northland bank in Fontaine (but I think the one who basically owns the Northland bank is Pantalone, I hope I'm not wrong) and perhaps being very involved in such scrupulous dealings, the oratrice may have concluded that Childe, as the fatui involved in claiming the debts, he could be framed for being another suspect for the serial disappearances case

  2. I still theorize that Lyney was the one to tamper with the Oratrice. For starters, I have a hard time believing he would spend all this time to get to the Oratrice for a mission that's extremely important to him only to scurry away after hearing the machine speak once. And another thing: Why would he have to tamper with the machine during that one minute of the performance? He would have spent hours at the Opera House setting up things for his performance, maybe even had practice sessions there previously. He potentially could have had hours of undisturbed time with the Oratrice. And if it really was the Fatui's plan to tamper with the Oratrice, he could have fellow Fatui members be a part of his performance crew who would help him tamper with the Oratrice as well. At the very least, he or other Fatui members who accompanied his crew could have a couple of hours of time with the Oratrice alone

  3. I am sitting here thinking, did we ever get a concrete number of people who disappeared, other than the 20 or so we found in Vacher's "lab"?
If not then I could see the Fatui having helped people escape from Fontaine for different reasons. If their disappearances were logged as part of the serial disappearances, then of course Tartaglia would be found guilty since he and the other Fatui helped these individuals "disappear".

I am basing this solely on the fact that a trial should be for the crime they are accused of and not simply: "This person did bad things in the past unrelated to the case but because of that he is guilty"
Of course it could be that Tartaglia helped supply Vacher with things for his "research" without knowing what it was for but that seems like the boring answer and I hope this isn't the route they choose to take it.

  4. I believe there's a prisoner Furina with the one we meet being an impostor, and one possibility is that the real one is in the Oratrice. This explains the crying in the fountain and the voice Lyney heard.

Given the similarities between the tainted hydro Eidolons and fake Furina's eye, there's a stong likelihood that abyssal energy is involved. And who has abyssal energy with his transformation? Tartaglia. His energy resonates with that of her captors.

Despite the evidence and ruling of the Chief Justice, Tartaglia's guilty by association with the Abyss in her eyes.

  5. my 2 cents:
Tartagles has issues with water in Fontaine.
The super Oratrice is powered by water
It somehow "mall functioned" and that was the expected behaviour
Yes, its probably a plot to f Furina and get her gnosis.
And yes, Tartagles is being used, as he was in Lyiue

  6. The interesting thing to me is that the Oratrice called out to him.

Let’s assume that the former Hydro Archon is actually trapped inside the Oratrice, and not truly dead, serving as the Archon even now. As in Furina is a fake.

The Oritrace could be working to make the prophecy true, and assuming it can hear everything that goes on in the courthouse, it would have heard Lyney say the Fatui are trying to stop the prophecy.

It would have been two birds one stone.

  7. The reason we "ran into" Childe in the first place is because we went to the place we were sent to by Lyney. I think that puts a lot of limits on the nature of Childes involvement.

On a different note, Hydro visions seem come to people who want to protect or preserve something. Seems pretty obvious what that would be in Childe's case. Speaking of which aren't Teucer, Tonia, and Anthon usually in the care of the House of the Hearth, or am I remembering that wrong?

I can't figure what part Childe handing over his Vision could play in the Fatui's scheme to get the Gnosis, but it does seem emblematic of him turning over his wish to protect his siblings to the Traveler, kind of how Kazuha carried forward his friends wish to withstand the Musou No Hitotachi.

  8. Something that I missed out is that Lyney heard a mysterious voice within the Oratrice chamber, and I think he mentioned that it recognized him. It may be nothing but it could also suggest that other Fatui under Arlecchino's command had already infiltrated the Opera House while Lyney was busy with his show and had the time to tamper with it before the incident occurred.

  9. Aster i dont know if someone has already pointed it out but did you see the chasm ruins in the melusine book world quest, when you enter the book world you have to spin the camera around 180 and watch the puple portal

  10. They are setting the traveller up for a real trial. The vision was left in her/his care to be used as evidence that we were a part of the plot. This is somehow tied to the prophecy about Fontaine being drown. The Fatui are probably interested in the new energy source the Fontainians use. I dont think the Oractrice is from Fontaine at all I think its Celestial in nature. I am not sure why the Fatui take interest in Fontaine yet only that it has to do with the experiments on Jacob

  11. I think it has to do with Northern Bank involvement. Thugs that were beaten up by Childe as debt collector were working for Vacher (sorry I can't remember name of that sister organization under Vacher control while being sister-company of Spina di Rosula) and this guy took loan from bank, or requested some sort of assistance that costs mora. Childe is debt-collector for bank, so he has connection to supporting Vacher experiments by being part of organization which provided Vacher with materials or mora so Oratrice counted Childe in as guilty.

  12. My money is on Childe being used by another Harbinger again.
Any other of the speculations could as well be part of it, too. But I don't think Childe is aware of any of those plans. I think it's funny though that someone wants him OUT of the picture (away from Lyney and his what-ever-it-is plan) or INTO the picture (for a plan at the prison).

  13. Childe himself said that Arlecchino would betray the Tsaritsa herself if it meant that she would get what she wanted. I think that this is the case.

I think that the Oratrice is powered by the hydro gnosis. Just how Sumeru’s Akasha system was powered by the dendro gnosis. It would explain why the Fatui is suddenly interested in it. If they overthrow Fontaine’s belief in justice and the Oratrice…it would cause a public outcry for it to be destroyed and no longer used for judgments. Then the Fatui would swoop in and steal the gnosis.

  14. I think tartaglia being guilty overall, and not just in the moment is what made the oratrice's verdict.

and if arlecchino knew this is how the oratrice works while the general populous and furina didnt, then we would clearly have a perfect setup for arlecchino's schemes

    1. Arlecchino wants the gnosis and can do so by destabilizing the nation
    2. Tartaglia wants to challenge a champion duelist and learn about justice in fontaine
    3. Tartaglia is obviously innocent to the crimes convicted, enough to the point that even the people of fontaine wouldn't believe the oratrice's verdict
    4. Arlecchino needs a lower-profile yet super capable soldier to carry out this plan
    5. Tartaglia fits every criteria, has his own vested interest, and is inferior to Arlecchino so she can give him some orders

it's almost too-perfect that childe would be guilty enough overall while having 0 connection to the current case while also being suspicious enough as a fatuus since the fatui were a potential suspect for the disappearance cases

  15. I basically thought Oratrice judged ppl based on them having vision or not, that would explain why everyone in fontaine who's judged will end up guilty somehow

No human from fontaine has hydro vision so far, maybe something to do with the gnosis

But that doesn't explain why the oratrice can move back and forth during trials

  16. It makes more sense that Marcel accused Tartaglia ( possibly anonymously) just to divert attention from himself, since it happened right after we questioned Marcel. After all, He did try and put blame on the Fatui already with Lyney. Either way, I hope we meet Arlecchino soon, I'm dying to know what she's really like!

  17. The Fatui are stealing gnosis. Celestia's link with Tevat are the gnosis.

The gnosis is obviously powering the Oritrice.

    The oritrice has sentience.

Its aware of the Fatui's plan and is trying to stop them, i think this is the unknown God tampering for the first time in the story.

  18. i think one of the key points for your number 1 possibility is that the men you see have an altercation are Vacher's men, which means that Tartaglia definitely has worked with Vacher. Its not known how much Childe knows about Vacher's synthe dealings, but we do know Vacher does have debt with the northland bank, and Childe is in charge of it. If we take this into account, it is possible that childe was indirectly made guilt due to this fact, but as to why the Oratrice would know this information since it was not brought up in the case, I dont know.
