I am F2P and still bench characters and am still poorly built.
The problem is the ramen. With a few bucks, and cooking skill. You can make that dish way better 😊

I'm doing this thing where I build every single character (level 80, weapon, artifs, talents etc.) And get them to friendship level 10, so that i do use them all a fair amount and I actually end up really having fun with characters I never would have bothered with otherwise, like Rosaria or Eula. But I can understand what you're saying, and I wish so badly I had the willpower to follow your advice… maybe one day…

I'm directly in between a "whale" and a "dolphin" in terms of gacha gaming. I spend a few hundred only if the character is appealing like I did with Raiden Shogun. I'm gonna do the same with Furina, but I've reached a point in Genshin where I have powerful teams already and spending more money on more characters where the entire dull process of leveling them up, farming for their mats, getting artifacts and weapons for them is starting to get real redundant and boring. It's downright sickening. Sorry to say this, but most players will still drop them hundreds upon hundreds of cash to get their digital "waifus' and "husbandos" maxed out.

I didn't even whale and i feel like i have too many characters and i wish i could turn some of them in
My dream is to be rich enough to be able to spend thousands of dollars on genshin and that is my motivation
And then you can't play some characters because they need this exact team to work or you're not doing enough damage because you're missing out on the better 5 star version (xingqui-yelan)
I’m f2p and I still struggle with having a lot of characters most are four stars but yea. AND ASCENSION AND BOSS MATERIALS ARE HARD TO GET IF YOUR NOT IN CO-OP😭

plus if you're f2p you can do silly little things like deciding your goal is to get and build all the characters from your favorite region
and that is very rewarding
Spend money on the useful ones like how I benefit with Baizhu on Spiral Abyss making my Alhaitham unkillable 💖. I rather say make the spending smart and not worthwhile. Take the worth ones.

So far, I only know one Genshin CC who actually has every single character and (almost) every weapon in the game AND has everyone built. It's a lot of work—playing every day and spend here and there.
As for megawhales, especially the ones who bring C6 5-stars to the Abyss, even THEY don't have the resources (time, instead of money) to build everyone.
Be a low-spender or completely F2P cuz you're just gonna make yourself miserable trying to have everything in this game.

Only time I ever spent money on the game was it get Childe and I didn’t even end up getting him. I got him later with freemogems. Since then I decided not to spend money on the game anymore. I have a good handful of five star characters I like so I don’t mind.
I agree with this just because I know that rewarding feeling and I love chasing it.
I'm also kinda insane as well since I am, as a result, constantly making video games harder and harder on myself to the point that I'm basically playing no-hit runs.

Like..NO, you don't have to. I tell them that it's just pain and lamenting it after if you lose. I whaled on some of my characters and some weapons and I found em benching in my inventory. Specifically, Cyno's signature weapon… TT sorry Cyno.
So yeah, best to stay being F2P. I totally stand with this…unless, if you're ready to spend and ready to lose lol. Take risk, assume you're gonna lose a lot, yep, being a whale.

Well I'm f2p and most of my characters (I have 36 characters) are build like shit (poor them), and I only have like 4 5* (but I have good ones) Tartaglia, Yae Miko, Kokomi and Dehya (she is so underatted she actually does a lot of damage w/ a good build). Sorry for my english, i'm still learning 😅
To be honest, my F2P account is basically better that a P2W accounts.
I wouldnt say being f2p is better but i also wont say being whale is the best. Imo just welkin and bp if you want to are good enough. Your able to get atleast 1 5* a patch making pulling still be excited and fullfiling. Being a c6 whale just seems boring to me. First all your money is gone and second you dont have have to play the game anymore because everything will die in 2 hits. Having c6 yelan might be cool but enjoy that your hutao team is now ruined because of how incredibly strong she is. Just collecting characters is fun aslong as you keep a little standard like dont pull every chaarcter you really just dont like playstyle or design wise just to have em.
What about being a Dolphin? Getting the welken and only getting the BP if I finish the top row or something? But still grinding and saving primos and stuff. I don't have every character in the game and i don't want every character.
Doro, why are you whaling when you don’t have the disposable income to? Whaling is expensive, so you shouldn’t do it unless you absolutely have a source of disposable income.

Dawg I spent 50 on Genshin the other day just to loose my 50/50 . .
Welking and battle pass will save you a lot of the time also makes you able to farm the stuff you want instead of using it on XP and more every now and then. I have an f2p and my spender account to compare and I can be way more lazy in terms of spending resin on spender account
