Microsoft have made it abundantly clear that they are looking to absorb as many of their competitors as they possibly can in an effort to reinforce their place in the gaming market. With this in mind, during a recent interview, it was confirmed that Microsoft are looking to create the next great online RPG.
Something that could rival the international success of Genshin Impact. The term β€œonline RPG” was used here as opposed to β€œMMORPG,” but games like Lost Ark and Blue Protocol are marketed as β€œonline RPGs,” even though players generally consider them MMOs.
Thus it’s impossible to speculate the full extent of the multiplayer functionality, but we know it’s going to possess it.

  1. its kinda crazy how hoyo never expected their franchise to blow up this much and how some of the biggest and most well known and respected gaming companies are trying to recreate their success is insane

  2. I'll be completely honest I understand healthy competition
But it's become less pushing each other to grow and more a dick measuring contest for game companies
What happened to great stories with heart & passion instead of these broken soulless Cash grabs
Genshin is popular because of how intricate it is and how much hoyo hypes everything about it
    Microsoft needs to remember
That good games are what we want not
Some killer App that'll make a different game jealous

  3. Can I get source link(s) to all of this info? There is only gameplay in the video and no actual source material. YongYea's videos actually shows the source and highlights all the info in his videos. I like to take info (which can be taken out of context) and come to my own conclusion.

  4. Only genshin can kill genshin, the game already became a legend in gacha legend . A game that may compete with GI may exist but defeat it?- nope unless there is some real serious investment that rival GI production cost at aerly stage, that is cost even more with current world situation

  5. I didn't get on with Genshin Impact myself, wish i could but dunno, maybe an MMO is what it needs ( just my personal preference )
I'm a mad mmorpg player, been playing them for many years lol ( i'm old )

Thanks for the vid bud πŸ™‚ Have a good one.

  6. Part of what made GI so popular was the abundance of attractive women players can play as. With Microsoft's attempts to appeal to the "inclusivity and diversity" crowd i don't think Microsoft can come to the same "quality" of character's Genshin Impact can if you know what im saying.

  7. The truth is with this recent economy Everyone needs more than there salary to be financially stable. The the best thing to do with your money is to lnvest it rightly because money left for saving always end up used with no returns..

  8. There is No such thing as a genshin killer. Unfortunately the game playerbase seems to be a cult. They worship the game lol. If you say anything to criticize the game then 1000+ white Knights will come to the defense despite the fact that the game, while fun I admit, is not that great. The rng is really bad even for a gacha game, the devs in an interview outright said they don't intend to add anything players ask for so basically they said "fuck you players we just care about your money", balance very poor, and the game is just way too expensive if you choose to go down that route. You can do the f2p route but chances are you aren't gonna do very well in thr Abyss as the devs always design it for you greatly benefit from the new character. All these things and yet players still defend it like the game is greatest thing since sliced bread

  9. They are going to need to create genshin impact/Peria chronicles/Mabinogi hybrid. Im here for it. Genshin Impact is absolutely massive. Genshin impacts animations n models are very very good. The animation flows super well n the gameplay aint bad either.

  10. The only potential competition for Gesnhin that I see is Wuthering Waves. I really don't think anything else currently in development, that we know of, has a chance. If MS can make the deal, and pour the necessary money into marketing, they may make a dent into Mihoyo's profits.

But let's be honest, Genshin has become a cultural phenomenon. It is for gacha games what World of Warcraft was for MMOs. Many companies tried for years to dethrone WoW, with no success. In the end the biggest threat to WoW was Blizzard itself, and FF-XIV rose up not because it was trying to win, but because the developers actually care about making a good game.

  11. So, apparently, I just watched a VR News video and Mihoyo is working on a VR MMO, using the funds they acquired from Genshin and other games to invest in VR development and research? Stix, mind looking into this a bit for us?

  12. Never will happens. They are "politically correct" and it's a fact.
Unless they parasite someone else work or change completely (starting learning the meaning of fanservice and that most gamers are males that want cute waifus and hot chicks without censorship or any type of precensorsgip faking the non existence of censorship) it never will happens. At least it is good to laugh.

  13. Why not just pump funds into Blizzard and make sure WoW sticks to long term success strategies instead of burning all the fuses to milk as much cash as it can before everyone leaves, they don't have to start from scratch.

  14. bah, I honestly wouldn't stand playing another genshin type game lmao πŸ˜‚, yeah, fun game for a few months, but dry weeks/months with dry characters that you use for 3 months straight because you don't have premo to pull characters or because you don't like the characters and have to wait for the next few months to pull them, I don't even know how many months I wasted using xiao as a main character while waiting for that awesome cool male samurai dps with epic animations, yes we have ayato, but man he's so mid, his animations are so lazy and boring, he's even slower than Ayaka which makes me even more sick of it because I'm saving up and waiting for a male samurai dps character, and I can't. The story is so slow and mid (silent), the animation is so lazy and boring, he's even slower than Ayaka which makes me even sicker because I'm saving up and waiting for a male samurai dps character, and I can't.

the story is so slow and mid (shut up, this is my opinion, idc how many times you explain it to me, it will still be mid to me), the gacha is too expensive (just for one character you need 100$-500$ like WTF) I can't, even though I loved it for the first few months, the game is so slow and too stingy for f2p players,

I don't even know if wuthering wave can get me to keep playing their game for a whole year, if they are also stingy, I'll just wait for a year and buy an Account instead, I didn't do it in genshin because I wanted to have the same progression as my friends/brothers, but IDC, I don't want to suffer wasting my energy playing the game every day waiting for a nice character I like just to pull it and get bored after a month.

  15. Microsoft? Bruh. They wouldn't make another botw mobile gacha game with so much lore, and waifus.
And if their game ends up being great, the community will only see it as a copy. Maybe it would have some sucess but not on so much platforms.

  16. I wonder how this is going to play out. I remember the big boom of MMOs after the early success of everquest wow and guildwars. The market was stagnant and oversaturated with a bunch of Korean MMOs that are dead. Hope this doesn't happen again

  17. Would be awesome if Microsoft had the great idea to make a MMMORPG with the visual and art from Genshin Impact WITH Mythology (from Age of Mythology/Titan Quest); 3 person open world without loading screen; pvp and pve zones…

  18. nothing can kill the bs that is genshin impact. the game itself is good, but its ruined by its gacha system. it being a gAcHa gAmE doesnt justify anything, gacha itself is crap. take that out and genshin would have by far more players and if they can make a mmorpg out of it, without the gacha, then it will be a guaranteed success.
too many ignorants who cant think and just see that genshin made a lot of money, but dont see that the money was mostly made by the whales and not because they had many players, which they only had in the first few months after release.

  19. Im not a big fan of genshin, just went through archon quest main story. Mostly i play azur lane or princess connect. I just feel there is So much they can do. FGO making so much money for years they never think about upgrading graphics or coming up a bigger plan.
The most promising competitor could be Arknights endfield, but it has to wait
