I think people are hyped up with Sandrone because there’s a lot theory going on, like she could be Guizhong, or Alain Guillotin who is the big ruin grader who built a Robot doll that looks like his sister Mary-ann (Sandrone). Of course people would be really disappointed if she has nothing to do with any of them lol.
Of course the Guizhong theory is something I support as well because it would make so much sense why Zhongli give his Gnosis away. After all Guizhong was a skilled Mechanic and also had a great interest in ruin machines. Childe also stated that Sandrone hates him, which could be because he tried to sink Liyue. One more important thing is that so far, we have a harbinger who is from each region although Arlecchino is technically not from Fontaine, she grew up there so I’ll count it anyways. My theory is that Sandrone is a ruin machine created by Guizhong, remember how Zhongli has the Memory of Dust which contains all of Guizhong’s knowledge.
Of course it’s very unlikely, since it’s just some theories, people wouldn’t mind Guizhong becoming playable.
There were a theory about Sandrone = Marionette = Mary Ann Guillotine after the Narsizzenkruz (cant remember how it spell) world quest. I think this is pretty much confirmed. I like theory that Sandrone is Alain and this girl with him is a pupet of his sister. This really matches, because nobody knows what happened to him, also we have some quests about robot intelligence and transpalnt consciousness to the machine.

1 thing everyone is forgetting with this theory of theres that the girl is the puppet and not the big ruin guard is the fact that she moves her head her eyes blink and she can actually talk so for her to be a "puppet" surely there is a limit to her speech her movement and the fact that she thinks and can think so she clearly has a mind and free will of talking and movement we just have never once seen her move with her own feet but atm we only have seen her in 1 trailer so we cant exactly say she dont walk on her own feet at all remember back when our sibiling was being carried by a ruin guard in that story trailer thingy ?? SANDRONE might be like that in public she gets carried by the ruin guard her own personal body guard if you will…. while out of the eyes of people she walks with her own feet dose whatever she dose in secret…. split personality part of her personality could be the ruin guard and some of it could be her – for example what if the ruin guard is her as a adult thats mature and learned and stuff while the girl is her child like younger navie personality self…. that would be intresting
Basically Sandrone makes a cameo through a certain World Quest that was already available in Fontaine since 4.1 regarding the finding of lost research of certain clockwork meka intelligence system. It's more so in the ending where the idiot whom she hired was silenced by her.
So I have a plausible theory to Sandrone's origins and why she is the way she is. Narsizzenkreuz World Quest storyline gives a hint that she is an android based on the late sister of Alain Guillotine the man who becomes the architect of Clockwork Meka in Fontaine, Mary-Ann Guillotine. Alain created an android in the splitting image of his late sister after losing her in a confrontation against Jakob who became an Abyss Sorcerer. This android of Mary-Ann however is unable to share feelings with her creator and eventually outlived him. Sandrone while not having Mary-Ann's heart shared her intelligence and thus she has little interest in anything else aside from research and studying machines while machines and robots of her own much like her creator Alain. Fun fact though, it's kind of a joke at this point but it's implied Sandrone created Katherine of the Adventure Guild especially when the HQ is in Sneszhnaya.

Whoever Sandrone is I just wish she's evil, like, unapologetically evil, relishes in her evil-doing. Hoyo's favourite writing philosophy of "everybody exists in different shades of gray" may be closer to what real world is but it does get kinda old after a while. I want a true villain that we love to hate, and Sandrone has that potential. She is the least hyped female harbinger so there's not a lot of potential concerns to weigh hoyo down when making her a true villain.

It's very likely that Sandrone is Alain, one of the kids from the Narzissenkruz institute. The human girl, which we think currently as the Sandrone, looks like his dead sister Marry-Ann. He could probably did experiment to himself and his dead sister before disappearing.

Not gonna lie tho, before all of Fontaine, I really thought Sandrone would be the one we will face. Considering the fact that her aesthetic and abilities are heavily related to machinery, which is Fontaine's very aesthetic.
