  1. Hello everyone! I hope you are having a good day and enjoyed the theme! There has been requests for Pierro’s battle theme and finally here it is! This is my second time uploading Pierro content in my channel, the first Pierro fan made theme was more to his personal theme or like his story teaser (kind of). I never really thought of how Pierro’s battle theme would sound like but I can finally come up with something!

First of all, I know this is not your usual Genshin type of boss theme and I am aware of that. However, I like to think that Genshin might do something different for the ‘final’ bosses. I imagine that if we ever fight Pierro, he’ll be the last and final Harbinger boss we have to face. And I like to imagine that the theme would sound more terrifying and more serious, almost apocalyptic probably. The slow but hard hitting percussion in this theme symbolises his immense power and especially the fact that he was originally from Khaenri’ah further amplified his mysterious strength. I imagine we will be faced with difficulties in trying to defeat him. While he is incredibly strong, I also like to portray him as this elegant/charismatic character. In the first phase, you can obviously hear the drum rhythms sounding apocalyptic with the accompany of brass instruments, but underneath all of them, I intended to make it sound romantic, especially during 1:34. And of course, you can hear the Fatui motif in 1:13! A bit off topic but I think my addiction towards Elden Ring played a role in this fan theme hahah, I’ve been referencing and listening to a lot of Elden Ring themes (if you haven’t heard their themes I highly recommend!)

Now for the phase 2.. I stated above that Elden Ring’s soundtracks played a role in this fan theme, the whole phase 2 was referencing one of Elden Ring’s boss theme named ‘The Final Battle’. It is the theme for the final boss of Elden Ring and I think it’s quite fitting to reference this theme for Pierro’s phase 2 as there is a high chance Pierro will be the final Harbinger boss we have to face (if we ever to fight him). Now, it has been a common formula that the phase 2 will have a grander introduction than phase 1, and I’ve been doing that with my previous double phases fan themes. However I’d like to experiment on Pierro’s theme and overall just want to make his theme different than the others. Therefore, I started phase 2 with a rather simple introduction. I focused more on the atmosphere building with the strings coming in and out, the vocals sounding ominous as well. Some of you might think how can this be the phase 2 of a boss theme? Personally for me, I have never experienced a phase 2 with a quieter intro compared to the phase 1 but that occurred to me when I was fighting Elden Beast, the final boss of Elden Ring. The phase 2 is much much quieter than phase 1 but it sounded very ominous and even somber. However I felt like it’s so fitting for a final boss, your ears are not bombarded with percussions going crazy or anything like that, it felt like you’re alone in this arena facing the final boss and it was so serious and unsettling, even. It was such an amazing experience when I felt that (of course I died many times and finally asked for help to other players LMAO). So, back to Pierro’s theme, I wanted to recreate that feeling but now it’s in Genshin and you are facing the final boss of the Fatui Harbingers. Right after the introduction section is done, we move on to the (for a lack of better word) tragic part, where it played the Fatui motif. The Fatui has been one of our main enemies but realising now that if we defeat Pierro, the Fatui Harbingers will be no more, is such a complex feeling. Sure, in the traveller’s eyes they have done so many wrong things, but the traveller have gained strength fighting the harbingers and they will not be as strong as they are if there weren’t any harbingers. So in a way, the harbingers have given the traveller strength and motivation.

But it doesn’t end there. Pierro tried to fight back for the final time, trying to protect on what he believed in. in 3:37 the theme picked up the energy. However the feeling is different, you don’t hear the terrifying atmosphere you feel during phase 1. It sounded more desperate and kind of like the ‘final push’ of Pierro to try and stop the traveller. He tried everything in his might to defeat the traveller. However his efforts all come to a waste. 5:14 is an additional part to the theme where I imagine there’ll be a cutscene at the end of the fight of Pierro talking to the traveller. I will leave this part to your imagination and I will look forward to all your incredible stories!

Thank you everyone for giving this theme a listen and I hope you enjoyed it! And as always I wish you all a very good day!

  3. I am appalled by this track. It is phenomenal, grand, menacing, and yet… it is somber. Hopeless. A survivor from a devastated nation. A being cursed to forever live, and never feel the sweet release of death. A survivor of Khaenri'ah. I feel that we will fight Pierro at the demolished gates of Khaenri'ah, with him being the last standing member of the Fatui. And the second phase will take place within the abyss, with him slowly being overpowered by us, yet not letting us spare him. Forcing us to kill him, and finally ridding him of his wretched curse.

  4. What an interesting piece,
It epitomizes the action of falling down, and enhances the idea of pathos, tragedy and fatality simulateously.
Have you leanrt music theory ? because there are some interesting points in your composition such as the fact that sometimes, instead of passing through the 5th degree, after the 2nd , you push on the note of the 1st degree at the low register, which is not that conventional, but dispite, giving more tension in the musical phrase.

  5. For those who don't know any of the lore, Pierro is form Khaenri'ah, which is the same nation that Kaeya and Dainsleif hailed from. He has a strong influence over the Fatui and perhaps even Snezhnaya and all of Teyvat, just below the Tsaritsa. His stern accent and behavior shows that he was a failed general who exerted futile attempts to defend his kingdom and yet he attempted to hide his past.

  7. Wonderful work as always, Farabi. I can tell that a lot of thought and effort went into this piece. It communicates the Fatui’s last stand against the Traveller very well. In this final battle against the last remaining Fatuus, I’d think that perhaps Tartaglia would have a role to play in defeating Pierro; perhaps as a as a Thank You to the Traveller for everything they did for him on his journey and to free his family from the Fatui’s grasp at long last.

If you ever watched the “House of Wolves” Hoyofair animation, you may see my reason for thinking Tartaglia will help us defeat Pierro. Or perhaps he will tell us to stand down so he can deal with Pierro himself because he has always wanted to cross blades with him. I believe that during this time, Childe may take a heavy blow from Pierro in his own fight or in order to protect the Traveller while they both fight him, leaving Childe gravely injured.

The bonus melody at 5:14 you said was up to our interpretation, so I shall give my two cents below.

After Pierro’s defeat, both Childe and Pierro are gravely injured. We may see a cutscene where Pierro tells the Traveller about the atrocities Celestia did to Khaenri’ah and why the Tsaritsa formed the Fatui. He apologizes to Tartaglia for the final time and tells the Traveller to reason with the Tsaritsa and to fight back against the fate that was bestowed upon them by the Heavenly Principles. His final order is to tell us to carry Tartaglia away from Zapolyarny Palace and get him to a doctor or healer. After we lift Tartaglia onto our back, we make for the Palace exit.

The camera then cuts to Pierro lying on the floor, dying. He reminisces on his overextended life . He remembers his life in Khaenri’ah before the cataclysm. In a flashback, We see how he had a wife and children who were killed in Celestia’s onslaught. We see how the he and the Tsaritsa found each other and decided to join forces against the Heavenly body that ended a civilization. He closes his eyes for the final time and smiles, finally happy to be reunited with his family.

Mean while, thanks to their strength. the Traveller swiftly carries Tartaglia through the Palace corridors with ease, however since there are on Snezhnaya’s most wanted list, the streets of the Capital are covered with Snezhnayan military. Due to Childe’s condition, they have no choice but to go out into the open to get help.

What follows is what often happens during a sad or serious situations in most movies which would suit the melody at 5:14 well:

As Traveller emerges from entranceway of the Palace with Childe on their back, the cutscene animation slows dramatically, and the background dialogue slows down to faint echos and the soundtrack overwhelms the scene completely. We see the slow movement of the Traveller and Paimon’s mouths as they are calling into the crowd of Fatui soldiers for medical help. But there are no voices to be heard as the music has dramatically taken over the scene. We see Fatui foot soldiers separating the Traveller and Tartaglia. Two soldiers take Childe by either arms and carefully settle him onto the ground on his back, calling for the any Hydro skirmishers.

Traveller is grabbed by both arms by two more Fatui but Paimon is able to fly up to avoid the Fatui’s hands. She flies around, looking down at the Traveller, when she finally makes eye contact with them. As they are struggling against the Fatui soldiers, Traveller looks up at Paimon, giving her a hopeful, determined look. They grin up at her and nod their head.

She reciprocates the gesture and flies away, making sure to dodge rifle shots. She knows now that this is the chance the Traveller will get to meet the Tsaritsa. Paimon weaves her way around buildings and out of the Capital to get help, which is what Traveller had taught her to do were they to get captured again. (“Help”presumably being from the characters we’ll meet in the Snezhnaya Archon quests).

After the Traveller sees Paimon fly safely out of view, they pretend to be overcome by the Fatui soldiers and is pinned face-down to the snow-covered ground. They try to see what’s happening to Childe between the all the Fatui soldiers’ boots. Several Hydro Skirmishers are making their way towards to Childe in an attempt to heal him. The final beat at 6:36 Is where the camera fades to black where we are in the Traveller’s point of view struggling see Childe from their position on the ground, looking through the crowd of Fatui’s boots.

The next scene shows the Traveller in a prison cell with their clothes still caked in Childe’s blood. They await to be brought before the Tsaritsa and for news of Childe’s condition.

And I think I’ll leave it at there. I don’t want this to drag on for too long. I know it already has. And I honestly really don’t want Childe to die in the story.

For those of you who made it this far, thank you for listening to my rambling. I wish you all the best!

  8. The Childe has been bested bordering on being a turncoat.
    The Knave was humbled.
The Regrators wealth has been wasted.
The Fair Lady reduced to ash.
The Marionette cut from her strings.
The 6th seat, empty for centuries…
The mayor was overthrown and cast aside.
The Captain bested in his realm of expertise.
The Damselette no longer sings instead an eerie silence drowns the halls
The Doctors sins caught up with him, torn to shreds by a vengeful wanderer.

The Jester is the last one standing. In possession of a will to see the old world burned away, he cannot falter here for the Tsaritsa's will must be carried out. He has witnessed a cataclysm before… he will be damned if he lets one occur again with victory so close at hand.
