Genshin Impact is very much real and it exists. Here is a breakdown of what Hoyoverse has been doing to support its esports scene in Genshin Impact as well as how it affects the normal players.

ina team of 4. allow for example 10 constellation picks for both team. you can c5 bennet then c2 raiden and then your other two characters you can spread remaining constellations
Leaderboard for Abyss is perfectly doable. They've done a good job with it in Honkai with a bracketing/tier system so you end up competing with a group of more or less same investment/spending and skill/artifact investment as you.
And there are times it feels satisfying to beat a whale that has skill issues kekw.
I digress, you are complicating to much this PVP "balancing" situation, PVP could work perfectly on Genshin as a separate end game content just as we seen with trial characters which i don't see anyone complain when they can finally use: Kazuha or Ganyu or Yoimiya even at C0 with 4 star craftable weapon, just C0 all PVP characters just like in the test page of events and it can be done to fight anyone on the same server, it can be done Walruss, you are just complicating yourself too much. Edit i felt too much negativity from this vid, just to much.
its… fine?
mostly feels like they came to hoyoverse with the idea and they said "yeah okay here is some prize money and test accounts"
i really don't think hoyoverse has put any time or planning into this, its just more throw away marketing to them
Huge point there about PvP showing all the games problems. For example adding score boards with clear times for abyss ultimately will show how many few seconds you are away from the whales, demonstrating the no need for pay to win. So it backfires to Hoyoverse if they are not willing to do a whole new system.
The only way I could see this at all in game is maybe for a limited event, like where they have the trial characters, and you can only use those units. But even then, it’s not likely. I don’t think it’s a good idea, and I don’t see it happening.
lets pretend we didnt see those 9999% attack speed cheaters
This isn't organized by Mihoyo. It was all set up by the players
Honestly this looks incredibly promising. Whether you like it or not, it’s good to see hoyoverse moving in any direction.
Mihoyo has lost its marbles. Its lame. PvP does not make sence because we cannot deactivate constellations. Those with heavy credit card will clap f2p players eazy. This is not a game for skills. This is a game of credit card.
Genshin needs better Co-op, not PvP. Similar to Honkai Impact
That being said, I wouldn't be against a PvP where everyone has the same characters and stats.
I would love to see some whales just fight it out with c6, r5 everything but maybe it's just me .
The lack of PVP is no skin off my back.
The reason why i started playing Genshin because i was tired of the toxicity in moba games, and quite stressful as a solo player when encountering players that troll, afk or something along those. So if they decide to add pvp (which imo very unlikely) i might leave this game.
Some people enjoy watching this like a sport or something, I don't really get the appeal. Whatever floats their boat Ig lol.
Oh and walrus, I noticed your particular use of the word "festering" LOL
great video
Its defintily entertaining to watch and see ppl come up with different ideas to handle enemies. Although i dont think a pvp will come to genshin and i more likely wish for coop raids/dg, any type of content looks fun. I dont think ppl would say, that they will quit genshin just because it has a pvp p2w content. Like some ppl dont care about their teapot ppl that dont like pvp wont play it, but will stay for the other content hoyoverse releases.
The tournament is a marketing event. It's quite clear for the Chinese player community. I don't know if something is list in translation or sth.
no PVP please :'(
That looks great! No that's not gonna be added to the game, it's an event thing clearly. Great idea really, more like a challenge to test people's knowledge of game mechanics. Whoever wants to compete can go to an event, legit.
I'll just play solo here, doesn't affect me at all
Pvp should have balanced stats with preset items and game modes. Like a c0 only and multiple constellations ladder game mode.
Give weekly rewards based on player rank too.
This way new players don't need to grind to participate in pvp. They just need to get good.
Those videos are so good, I dont care if this is in the game I want to watch more of those competitions
You are missing the big picture, forget about the game this could actually be an esport, an a really interesting one, no one wants to have this in the game but has a competition is great
🌸😹It may be that you are late, but nonetheless always welcomed!😹🌸
just bad idea in general o bring pvp in genshin, only reason to do it would be if it would give like 3 times more primos than whatever spiral is giving nowadays and even then i would most likely ignore it even if i am f2p
I’d be a potato if I played with all my main lineups 🫠
The Titel is: Nice 😉
Imagine pvp between characters who have 20k hp but deal 50k damage per single attack.
If it was a 2d pvp minigame I'd try it. They might even have enough money to make a spinoff, but shields/healing characters probably won't exist in that game
I hope that wasn't real imagine they put pvp in genshin abyss race it's gonna be good and bad the good things we got some reward and bad things you have bad fps and lag and you will waste so much time to clear
Please no I don't want pvp leaderboards in genshin impact it will be trash we don't need pvp they need just to proof the combat and make enemy stronger and resist the freeze reaction etc.
If both players use the same prebuild Account then I would love such a gamemode
Tbh I think adding PVP would be amazing fun as endgame content. Like the PVP I played in seven deadly sins is basically the same thing as would work in genshin focusing on how many 5 star copies and what artifacts you have or what not. Even with the multiple layers of RNG, skill is still factored into winning. You just need a balanced match making system with players matching into opponents with similar accounts. It's really not that hard. It could be really fun.
Serious question, how in the world is genshin a casual game?
Starting the game as a new player genshin pushes you to complete everything as quickly as possible in order to use new characters and play a lot of the events. Also artifact grinding isn't casual at all either. Genshin isn't a hard-core game but calling it casual with how bad it is for new players at least imo is super incorrect
Good to see hoyo having these kinds of events while the rest of us are staring at the Ayaka banner that says until the end of 2.6…. Shows how much they care about the player base once again smh. Not to mention how they use us as players during "thier" events to promote the game they created for cheap advertisement…
Whoever swiped the most wins 🤣
The only way I see this ever being implemented is with trial characters. Seeing as it could be a way for the game to sell characters, I don't see why they wouldn't put it in as limited time events also let us use characters we don't have which influence our decision to pull for them or not.
Genshin could just set a maximum amount of dmg that can be done (Id say like 6000 considering the amount of damage whales have done) and also maximum amount of healing. Also only specific artifact sets allowed. Other than that yea maybe it’s better to remain single player
Imagine Co Op of that Event, Hyakun Hikki, is that how its spelled?
They have the means, make it scale dificulty and randomized rooms!
I honestly just want guilds. Guilds seem more plausible.
I don't want it in the game and yes I knew about it because I watch Ten Ten's coverage video on it months ago.
Why? Because it is not something I would spend time playing since I don't enjoy spiral abyss anyway (I run through one time and take whatever amount of stars I get, then done).
The type of end game content I enjoy is like that Xinyan/Childe event where there was no timer and the rooms changed and had different mobs and buffs. You could use food and all the things to have fun with no timer on you! So much fun!
I lost all interest as soon as I saw the character banning. Why would I want to participate when I can't use Ayaka? And it's not even based on how broken she is. I think versus modes could be viable if they made a constellations on and a constellations off game mode allowing players to choose.
I really enjoy the the "tournament" on bilibili
it not only test your understanding of the game, but also your opponent as well
It's not just "this character is meta so I ban them", sometimes your opponent is really good at playing this character and you might want to prioritize banning that character even if that character is outmeta
Every player must know to play more than 1 character because your main can be ban in any second
Watching the tournament, I saw a lot of unique team that utilize a non-meta at the maximum potential
——
Also, the MC also contributed a lot
Im sorry Tenten and his fan but his analyzing on the tournament is kinda… not very good…
Unfortunately for English speaker, he is the only one analyzing it in English as far as I know
Im Vietnamese and there are a Vietnamese youtuber that able to analyzing the match much better and able to understand the player decision to ban, pick characters,…, and that added a lot
no matter how they would implement it, fair to everyone or not, pvp would just be another way for players to insult eachother, making it more toxic. I personally don't need pvp esp just for some to satisfy their need to be superior.
I'd rather have some cool end game content than pvp. something that can be looked at as good by all, or at least most. that's just my feeling about it.
tournaments like these are fine to get once in a while ofc.
pvp would be fine if characters were normalized or if they did it like lost ark does
PvP wouldn’t work for this game just because characters are designed to play a specific role within a team. I wouldn’t necessarily consider this PvP. Competing for times is indirect competition sure but it requires no actual player interaction. No one like PvP in a Gacha game mostly because of the gap between F2P and Whales. Sadly Genshin doesn’t reward you for time spent in the game. It takes a lot of time to build 1 character to a quality level even as a whale and the amount of resources you can get are time gated, which is weird for a game that is largely a solo experience. How they don’t have a re-roll for artifacts yet is beyond me. I figure it’s because the money being funneled into resin would be cut in half if not more if actual useable artifact sets were easier to come by. Charging a few primos for some sub stat re-rolls wouldn’t kill the game. It would be a nice feature to have if you want and if not you just play the same as always. I’m in a tangent. My overall point is, Genshin’s overall objective is to make money and they can and will do anything makes them more money. If they add a PvP game mode, say time trials, and make it option like abyss then it harms no one and the people who like it can try it.
I played it for 2 months then i quit (: cuz i wanted PvP (: if PvP came i’ll start playing it again
Genshin esports just sounds so copium, even more so when interest in the game is at an all time low.
