Opera Singer Reacts: Cyno, Counsel of Condemnation || Genshin Impact OST

This is a fantastic character that feels much darker in tone than what I’ve personally seen and experienced in Genshin Impact so far. very excited to learn more about Cyno.

  1. So There is a character I think you can do this with from Lobotomy Corp/Library of Ruina, Call Binah. you could do a dual reaction one to her suppression core theme from Lobotomy Corp and then react to her Library of Ruina battle theme. Both represent her character but also the change she went through between both games.

  3. The stuff he talk about with the balancing transgressions and stuff, is from Egyptian mythology.

Ma'at is the goddess of balance, truth, justice, and order – and was formed when the god Ra emerged from the river of chaos, Nun. She went on to marry Thoth, god of wisdom, and plays an important role in sending people to the afterlife. This was through Ma'at's feather of Truth – which was was weighed against one's own heart in the Hall of Judgment (or the Hall of Two Truths) by none other than Anubis! He's the god of death, protector of cemeteries, and patron deity of jackals.

At the time when Egyptians believed in the gods this way, it would have been a big deal – if they didn't live just, truthful, balanced lives they could be erased and not pass on through Duat to the Afterlife; this would be so Ma'at could keep balance of the universe. Anubis was key is passing this judgment and if you failed then your heart (thus your soul) would be fed to Ammit and destroyed. If you made it to the Afterlife, there was the possibility of you being reborn again.

Also, the dark black coloration is actually a good thing! It is seen as good fortune and renewal! I posted 3 sections about Ma'at, Anubis, and the symbolic nature that black has down below in this order. All cited from The Rosicrucian Egyptian Museum's official site. ^^

    ——–

"However, Ma’at was more than just a goddess to the ancient Egyptians. She represented the crucial concept of how the universe was maintained. The ancient Egyptians believed the universe had an order to it, and it was Ma’at who kept everything in balance. This helped the ancient Egyptians develop a strong sense of morality and justice. Ma’at was extremely important in achieving the Afterlife. According to Ancient Egyptian mythology, after the death of the body, everyone had to pass through the Hall of Judgment, where a person’s heart was weighed on a scale against Ma’at’s feather of truth. If the deceased person’s heart balanced with Ma’at’s feather, they could continue their journey to the Afterlife. If not, their journey ended. This influenced the daily actions of the ancient Egyptians."

"The human heart was balanced on the scale against Ma’at’s feather of truth. If the heart weighed more than the feather, the person’s identity would essentially cease to exist: the hybrid deity Ammit would eat the heart, and the soul would be destroyed. But if the heart weighed the same as the feather, the deceased would pass through the underworld (Duat) and into the Afterlife. Since the Egyptians believed in the concept of Ma’at, which meant order, peace, and balance, death was regarded as importantly as life. Therefore, Anubis was a major part of the transition from life to death and back to life again."

"Black represented the fertile soil of the Nile that was needed to grow yearly crops, so the Egyptians believed that the color black symbolized good fortune and rebirth."

  4. dude listens to like 5 seconds of a clip and nails the character immediately. at this point i don't know why i'm still surprised by how impressed i am.
honestly, i'm starting to wonder how he'd be like if he teaches music analysis class.

  5. Though the feather representing Anubis mythology is clear, I can't stop thinking about what the crow/raven could symbolize. Fishchl manifested her own electro raven familiar from imagination, then there was the crow from Raiden Shogun's trailer and now the crow dropping the feather. Then the eye symbol , though may very well be solely based on Egyptian mythology, resembles Raiden's eye of stormy judgement and Cyno's ideals are about judgement as well. So I wonder if the crow could actually symbolize something. Or maybe they put the crow there to just show resemblance among electro users with no deeper meanings.

  6. Such a great character. I advise you to play him in the trial. I'm forced to skip him because much more interesting characters will come along 3.x patches to my tastes, but I'm doing so with much regret.

  8. I highly recommend that you listen to the puspa Cafe theme in sumeru. Maybe not for a video since it is about 2 mins, but either on your down time or when you get there. I walked in, and it immediately just stopped me in my tracks. It's just so full of life, yet very relaxed and just immediately sinks you in to the place.

  11. Cyno has a lot of parallels with Xiao, some more obvious than others and that's also very evident in their demos
They're both darker and more violent than Genshins usual tone

And as a Xiao main i of course had to pull for him, so now i main both Xiao and Cyno xD
One thing they have in common that i really love is the fact that despite being ruthless fighters, they both have a gentler side as well
Makes them really well rounded characters^^
