Today, I will talk about the potential changes in the upcoming banners and delay of Clorinde’s release, her kit and why this delay might affect her.

We are currently in version 4.5, and the second half of this patch will begin on April 2nd. Despite this, we already know practically all the content we will have in 4.6.

It might seem far away, but in less than a month, we can expect a drip marketing for the next character. Initially, it was assumed that Clorinde would be the next character, at least according to rumors circulating since the release of Fontaine. Initially, she was supposed to be in version 4.5, but then she was moved to version 4.7.

However, it seems that changes have occurred again this time, as in the second story quest of Cyno, we will see a character named Sethos.

According to the information shared by Mero, Sigewinne and Sethos will be new characters in version 4.7. Clorinde’s release will be in 4.8, and Emilie won’t receive her banner in version 4.x.

However, there is no further info on this matter, so don’t trust this entirely. Perhaps in the coming days or weeks, we will receive some information. It is unknown who among them will be a 5-star character and who will be a 4-star character.

If this is true, we can expect Clorinde release on July 18th.

Clorinde, according to rumors, is an electro character who can be a DPS or support sub-DPS. There is an info that she can be played as AFK, just like Yae Miko. However, since the info about her is not very clear, i am not sure if she has this in her kit.

Initially, there were talks that she might be similar to a character named Cyno, but later people realized that that was just a confusion between Clorinde and Arlecchino.

Although we don’t know all the details about Clorinde’s abilities yet, some early info suggests that she may focus on using energy. Some believe she may use a gun such as a rifle, used by Chevreuse, or a shotgun umbrella, which Navia has. It is also rumored that she may have a HP drain mechanics, where she can sacrifice her HP to give energy to teammates or take energy from teammates by taking away their HP.

Thanks to this HP-draining ability, Clorinde may work well with other characters from Fontaine who also have a similar HP loss mechanics.

This may sound great on paper, but what worries me the most is her release in the final patch of Fontaine right before the release of Natlan. As you know, all players will be saving up primogems before the release of a new region, and the developers are aware of this. So I’m worried that placing Clorinde at the end of Fontaine might affect her kit, because Mihoyo realizes that most people won’t pull for her anyway.

  9. They are obviously putting her there to try and drain primos before Natlan drops. Hoyo knows she is a wifu that many are waiting for and will pull for regardless of her kit because of how she looks etc.

    Also I think they realized the mistake of not having really anticipated new characters in the back half of a nation – Sumeru banner sales fell off a cliff after 3.5. I think they don’t wanna make the same mistakes again and so they have a hotly anticipated character to close out Fontaine. It will help drain some primos and helps keep players engaged and more actively playing during the last patches which can be dry otherwise.

  12. Honestly works for me they said that there would only be one new five star for the rest of Fontaine them spacing out the characters makes me happy and also it helps people save primogems

  22. Just kill me I have been waiting for Clorinde for so long and this will get worse. I have literally haven't pull for the special banner since last year. I can get her but I also want Navia and Siewinne so this will be a pain.

  33. IMAGINE not to pull for her ?! since I saw her ONCE I wanted her. I really can't imagine how people not pull for her, in the trailer she was majestic already. also, I think many player will have overmuch primogems. like pulling for arlecchino will drain primos a little bit (when u pull) but I think characters like navia, neuvilette and furina almost everyone got at first banner. Kazuha is also on almost every account.

  35. Clorinde moving to 4.8 I think makes some sense. I saw a leak a while ago saying she might be in the Summer event with Navia, Wanderer, Chiori, and Nahida so there's that to go with.

    If she does actually work well with Arlecchino then anyone who plans pulling both will now have an extra update to save up. If she's in fact a 5 star, then it wouldn't be super strange releasing over the summer, as 3 years ago the Inazuma arc took place during the summer with Kokomi, Ayaka, and Yoimiya releasing at that time. However, if she's a 4 star, Heizou was released 2 years ago during the summer event. Until we get Natlan info though, people have been waiting for Clorinde for a very long time, so it would take a very interesting Natlan character in 5.1 to make fans change their minds.
