It's important to point out that, since Genshin is a live service game, a lot of the events are limited (the Lantern Rite, Golden Apple Archipelago (version 1.6 and 2.8), the Irodori Festival) and you can't replay past limited events, meaning that even though they do these events every year, the story and characters that appear are different than in previous events.. The community has been asking hoyoverse to add a way for newer players to experience past events because most of them include very, and i mean VERY important lore informations, and at the moment the only way for newer players to learn about those events is to watch a summary video on youtube.
1:18:15 I find it quite fascinating how "Candace" is a common name in English. The name is actually derived from the Meroitic or Cushitic title "Kandake"/"kdke", which is not a common area from which English names have been typically derived from.
Another similar case releasing soon is the name "Layla", which despite being an Arabic name is again common in English. Although names originating from Arabic is a bit more common in English given the huge influence many Arabic nations have had throughout history.

Btw, the side quests in Genshin are not all fetch quests or "Go here, do this" quests. There are quite a few side quests that have stories to them, and there are even some really big side quest lines that even change aspects of the environment and unlock areas. Inazuma introduced us to the concept of side quest lines that change the environment while telling their own lore-filled stories, and Sumeru has continued this..
Even some of the smaller, simpler side quests can have lore or emotional stories. I remember doing a side quest in Mondstadt (the starter region) and thinking that the lore in it was just fluff, only for us to find out a year later that that lore was actually important. So, in essence: Read everything, even if it's "just a side quest" or a non-voice-acted event. You really never know with this game.
Also, updates happen every 6 weeks.
We did have an incident where Version 2.7 was delayed by about 3 weeks, and they had to get things back on schedule by making 3.0, 3.1, and 3.2 each last only 5 weeks. They have a long-term plan they have to adhere to very strongly.

It depends on the player, if you want to get every character with their cons then yes, you will spend hundreds plus, if you want their weapons then thousands. As for me, who is MOSTLY F2P cause I only put money (welkins) three times, I can get the character I REALLY wanted. You just need to plan ahead and gather the primos (the currency you need for getting characters) ahead of time. Also, luck is important too. HAHAHAHA! Lastly, base on my experience as a two year player of this game, eventually you'll slowly gather the characters you wanted without much spending. You just need to be extra patient.
The mushroom event is limited, it ends in 10 days. Catch up man.

So fun fact on Candace's name. It's actually latinised word for Kandake which basically refers to the next-to-be-queen in Meroe times

– it's quite hard to answer, but let me explain bit the calculation
– if you're F2P at the end game phase (already clear all the map and quest) you'll get arround 50 wishes (arround 8000 primogems/ $120 worth money) per patch *ofc you'll get more if you're new player
– so normally you can get new limited character after arround 3 patches (the guarantee is 180 wishes to get new limited character)
– the answer is depends on luck

1:07:56 Heizou is a catalyst. But his attack style is indeed unique. He's the first physical catalyst where he uses martial arts to inflict Anemo damage.
Also, Layla's demo hasn't been released yet. You watched her teaser. Characters all have teasers, demos, and collected miscellanys. Teasers are short and not very animated. Demos are the lengthier ones and have their signature character themes and are much better animated. Character Miscellanys are much longer videos that are Specifically about the characters, their attack styles, backgrounds and backstories, etc. Layla's demo should be dropping either today or tomorrow.

If you have been playing since the start and buying Welkin Moon (It cost 5 dollars and gives you 90 primogems everyday for 30 days, this also has the best value out of all the paid currencies too) as well. It is possible to have everyone.

Answering some questions:
1) Updates happen every 6 weeks, but due to that chinese lockdown a few months ago patch 2.6 lasted 3 weeks longer than usual. That's why patches 3.0, 3.1 and 3.2 lasted only 5 weeks each – they wanted to get back to the old schedule. Starting with 3.3 it will be 6 weeks per patch again
2) You can't get EVERY single 5* being f2p, but it's pretty much possible to collect all 4* with a bit of luck and most 5* as well if you play long enough. I personally only collect male characters with rare exceptions, and i managed to get almost all of them. Considering my luck has been AWFUL for the last 8 months. I should mention, I'm not fully f2p, as i spend 5$ a month

so u ask if u can have all character for free? The answer is YES but it’s different obviously. I don’t have all characters because I prefer to get more constellations (copies for same character) to make they stronger, but it’s a players preference.
Also don’t worry to much to “pay” because many events u get characters/weapons even skins for free! (The skins u don’t get in time can be purchased later by real cash)😊
And if u like a character whenever they on banner you can test run to make sure u want them.

Oh and the ocean map (1.6&2.8) are also a limited time map for the summer event.

In the beginning of the game you will get the option to pick which twin to play as the mc, lumine or aether. Hoyoverse mostly uses the male twin aether for promotional videos and such tho. There's an arguement about who exactly is the canon mc bc of how much more exposure aether gets compared to lumine, but honestly you can pick whichever twin you want, whether u wanna actually self insert yourself and pick the twin with the same gender as you, or just wanna pick whoever you think is the cutest. The gender is inconsequential to the story

Oh yeah, Sumeru's update is pretty much everyone's favourite. Not only did they introduce the most beautiful region yet, the story has been amazing AND it came with the long awaited addition of the final element, dendro (plants and greenery etc). It's been a wild ride these past few months. Also, Inazuma (the Japan inspired one) is the only place that is story locked, simply because its an island nation. You could download the game and walk to Sumeru right away

Super Excited for the playthrough! I love how you're interested in lore! A lot of people ignore the lore, skip quests and complain about genshin being "boring" while it's super lore rich. Genshin storyline runs super deep and personally it's one of the biggest attractions for me in game. I hope you enjoy genshin!!! It's a beautiful game!!!

I actually saw you back then when I was still new to youtube and the peak of drv3. I gotta say the move or addition of genshin to one of your covered games is a great step to your career as it is understandable that danganronpa is very dry lately. hoping the best and your growth!!
It's unlikely for people to get all 5*s f2p, but you don't need to spend money to play the hardest parts of te game. You can get every element you need, and there's like one totem you need Collei for. She is free but you need to do spiral abyss. Other than that, you have all 7 elements for free. (Noelle and Collei are optional due to traveler, but they are both free.)
