NEW META?? FOCALORS Gameplay Abilities & ELEMENTAL BURST Revealed – Genshin Impact

Players are excited as new information reveal more about Hydro Archon and her abilities. Expected to debut in version 4.2 banners, many eagerly await to learn anything about the character and her abilities. These sources have provided insights about the Elemental Burst of the Hydro Archon, creating a buzz among the community.
Interestingly, most within the community believed that she would be a healer, but based on the new information, that doesn’t seem to be the case. For those unaware, she is the current Hydro Archon and the ruler of Fontaine in the game. However, based on the latest info, it seems Focalors’ kit works exactly the opposite of what was previously believed.
Based on the translation of the latest info from Chinese forums, Focalor’s Elemental Burst will create a field where she can freely manipulate gravity inside that space. All party members inside will be inflicted with an HP drain, providing them with massive buffs and increasing resistance to interruption.
On the downside, the burst does not have a safety net and puts some sort of debuff. This implies that if nothing is done, players can lose their character to Focalor’s burst.
Thinking back, Focalors would not be the first character to consume their own or an ally’s HP whenever she uses her skill. Kuki Shibonu’s Elemental Skill creates a Grass Ring of Sanctification at the cost of her HP. Similarly, Xiao loses HP over time whenever he uses his Elemental Burst.
And The sources emphasizes that even shield users and healers like Zhongli and Kuki Shinobu will not have great compatibility with Hydro Archon’s kit and must be avoided when building her teams. However, her HP drain Elemental Burst perfectly complements Baizhu’s kit. On the second page, Chinese leakers talk about how Hydro Archon kit mechanics revolve around gravity. Although sources use the term corrosion, it is still unclear what type of effect is granted to all characters in the field. Furthermore, the leaks don’t mention how Hydro Archon’s burst affects the enemies inside the zone. The community is also wondering if she will have any healing abilities to compensate for the HP drain or will this new mechanic add more playstyle and variation to teams.
Remember, these are very early informations and have been flagged as questionable by credible sources. While Fontaine version 4.0 is rumored to launch in August 2023, the Hydro Archon might not appear until the version 4.2 update in November 2023.

  1. I think what they mean by saying that zhongli and kuki are not recomended is that she has no way of healing teammate or herself therefore should be paired with healers intead of shielders or chracters that drain their hp (kuki, xiao, prob hu tao and dehya aswell)

  2. if this is true then I think rn kokomi would be a better option than pulling for kazuha if you dont have both. Bloom teams would def be crazy At 4.0 just imagjne a nahida+nilou+kokomi+hydro archon

  3. I honestly dont think she's gonna drain hp, cuz hoyo does make all their archons supports and they often correlate with their own elemental Resonance. It would be more believable if they say she can drain enemies HP with her burst or she gives the active character extra HP and buff, with 100% hydro application that scales off of her own HP. She's definitely gonna scale hp that's for sure.

  4. that mechanic is pure nonsense. it would make her in coop totally unplayable, if theres a character that could kill literally everyone use if its able to spam its burst faster, than everybody else is able to heal up Same as much as gavility being manipulated by a hydro character, absolute nonsense if true… a geo or anemo character manipulating gravity makes sense, but not a hydro character as water in itself is an element, that gets manipulated by gravity, it has not the power to manipulate it self.

The closest to that we will get to see very likely, that fits to how the elemt of water works in nature and that would fit to the design of the elemt and current existing hydro mechanis, is Focalor catching targets/party members into a huge Soap Bubble, that while inside of it reduces gravity for everythign inside, in order to buff jump heigth for everything, give targets likely a hydro shred inside and inside the buble, it drains the breath of its catch victims, leading to a hydro over tiem damage effect for everythign iside, not a health drain

  5. I'm still going to roll for her, cause archons can be borderline game breakers with their kits. Even if it's very early, the hype is real.
However, since I'm more of a "fiery" type of guy, and my personal bias to Mesoamerican cultures, I'd say Natlan and the Pyro Archon. Another year of waiting, but you know what they say: patience is a virtue. So yeah, I can wait and save the primogems till the banners arrive.
