I kinda think mihoyo made this Yoimiya sandwich as a way to give some apetizer to high spenders waiting for baal, while at the same time giving F2P some extra time to stock on wishes.
All in all if it weren't for people going hyperbolic on trashing her, this would be a good move from mihoyo for the community and is certainly a wasted opportunity for said community to rally around the benefits
Hu Tao is a great character but she is one of the HARDEST characters to build without Homa. This is why I don't like how IWTL bases a lot of his stuff ofc whaled characters instead of his F2P builds. I farmed about 3 months of CW not including when I farmed it early on for Klee and I either have 59/191 or 83/137 with Deathmatch…Hu Tao needs both high CR and CD or else you risk having a Q that does nothing. Luckily the BS that I got for Ganyu that took about 1 month of farming (RNG baby…) is on Ayaka and is allowing her to do a pretty great job as my second DPS.
Homa is one of the strongest weapons in the game, and if we are going to talk about Hu Tao let's talk about her with a F2P or Low spender weapon compared to Yoimiya with the same.

Baal might be an archon but still, electro is nowhere close to Cryo/Hydro/Pyro reactions, so either we get a main dps archon or we get another "wheelchair" Zhongli incident. Im just gonna save for rerun banners and a Homa spear banner.
Damn man I just want a ganyu rerun. I’ve been saving hella primos for a C6 Ganyu and Amos bow. I’ve even farmed all her items that’s needed to level her up I just need her now lol. The one month I decided not to play genshin was during her banner. SMH

The real problems is that we are getting way to many new 5 stars vs 4 stars. Which doesn't make sense since 5 stars are supposed to be more rare. So Mihoyo has to tailor characters to be "5-Star" material instead of just making them a 4 star.

shame me for caring about the meta as much as i care about waifus, but its simply disappointing that yoimiya is basically most of hu tao and klee's caveats personified without nearly any of the things that make hu tao good.
– shes single target, even more so than hu tao
– she doesn't have an amazing burst like hu tao – hu taos burst can almost entirely make up for her lack of AOE on normal attacks
– she relies on her elemental skill for her normal attacks
– her actual damage is inherently lower, with and without the help of supports than hu tao's
– she can't vape or melt effectively
– she isn't compatible with xingqiu, who, on his own is perhaps the best 4-star sub DPS in the game
fact is, simply being single target would justify making yoimiya literally twice as good as hu tao in terms of raw dmg due to the huge loss in dmg you'll experience during abyss, but somehow it's significantly less AND she can't vape. like, I did NOT expect her to be or want her to be the next ganyu, I just wanted her to be good. i'm sure she'll be great against single target bosses, but, lets be honest, who gives a shit?
so yeah, i'm a little annoyed that I farmed all her talent books and like 200 pyro hypostasis as a f2p. was the first and last character i ever farm for in advance. it truly just seems like mihoyo thinks of her as a throwaway character. i can't even think of a team to use with her now that xingqiu is out of the game. it's her, bennet, and… who else? why do I care that she can hit enemies in venti's ult when she still is going to only hit one enemy at a time? not only that but they put the abomination that is skyward blade on her weapon banner. with the amount of resources I need to use to get Yoimiya, i don't want her to just be a "passable" DPS; I don't want her to be barely better than keqing when literally every single main DPS that has ever come out since childe have all be great; every. single. one…. except yoimiya, the one character I actually farmed for.
I think as I have skipped some other banners and survived without the characters, I can also survive this one.
I love Yoimiya and I really wanted her in my team but she reminds me a lot of physical Fischl Dps which was my first dps. This doesn’t mean that this is bad but you have to invest a lot in this team in order to work. First thing and most important you need a good shield and secondly a 5star weapon for killing everything really fast.
If you think you can invest in such a team, do it. In my case I will wait for her rerun.
I remember when fob used to be a reaction player. Everything changed the moment his favorite voice actor was chosen for this unit and his judgment became clouded.
I want to normalize people accepting Yoimiya is like a Diluc – another physical attack unit. Except a Crit Dmg weapon does not exist for Diluc just yet. 🙂

I already farmed and I am gonna lvl her to 81, 8/8/8, lvl 90 r5 rust and 4 piece of her new set on day one. This game is about having fun. Playing well and with a good invested team I am sure she will be a good character even in abyss, because all characters are viable in this game. The hate on her is so annoying. Nice video as always! Not a yoimiya fan but im pretty sure Yoimiya, Bennett, Beidou, and Venti will be crack, Yae and Baal supremacy :3

Yoimiya is an overload character. She's going to be the best range dps character that doesn't require aimed shots. That's a massive advantage over Ganyu if you don't like charge shot gameplay.
Her kit is a bit conflicted though. Support burst but selfish dps skill. If it was a team infusion she would be way better.

the thing about yoimiya is she won't affect the games meta at all. i don't want to power creep hu tao, i think she could have been a good pyro support for amazing pyro aplication. I think they are adding way to many main dps when i just want an amazing support that can get zhongli and bennett off of every single team.

I'm now forced to save for Baal as I expect Kujuo Sara to be on the same banner, and that's a duo I can't pass up.
If Baal was second banner on 2.1, Yoimiya would have a new customer for life.
