Leaving a quick comment here as well before I head to bed. <3 Great video btw, as usual! 😀
(not sure if my previous comment showed up or not so I deleted it and am posting it again lol)
Please make sure to claim your reputation rewards.
it gives you unique items you can craft. That could come in handy. Like the menu 30 item where you can initially heal or revive your character’s quicker. Or the portable waypoint (you get at rep6 alongside the Menu 30 item) where you can essentially get back to a spot faster. Or the treasure compass where you can hunt missing treasure chests in your world.
To open up that Gate, in that spot. burn the snow covered meltable ice chunks in that cave. The seelie is stuck, i applaud you, how you managed to get an crimson algate from the outside… without opening that gate, is clever thinking.
I didn't want to be that nagging person, but since you've not done it for many episodes I'll say this in case you've genuinely missed it, you can claim your reputation rewards in the bottom left! (The triangle button on the reputation screen)
Some would be quite useful for your early journey such as a treasure compass, recipes, and eventually a new wind glider. Just felt it need to be said since you're taking all this hard work to do the reputation quests but not getting any of the rewards.
Besides that little note an exciting episode once more thanks!!

oh re upload, was confused for a sec lol
In any case, pull for whoever's playstyle you like more! If you'd want a hard hitting geo damage dealer, i'd recommend Itto (try to use his charged attack when the mask thingy appears on his back), Chiori is a sub dps, she also deals damage but less, and is off field most of the time, tho if you like her , why not!
The new banner system is for players to be able to wish for characters that didn't get their banner for a long time or something like that… the weapons are standard banner weapons (some really really good, would recommend wishing for them here over the actual weapon only banner) and i believe it IS time limited! It only came out this update so it's super new, not exactly sure about it. Also, i'm totally not promoting Itto or anything, but Albedo is a great support/sub dps for Itto :3 same for Gorou hehe, those three work really well!!! Totally not promoting Itto!!
The 4 star Sacrificial sword you got is great on Xingqiu! it's his best weapon i believe (tho it's even better at refinement level 3).
Oh and one more thing that you might notice a bit later, there's a new feature in the main menu that's like a beginner's guide! (called Training guide)
It shows you how your characters are built, which weapons/artifacts the players usually use on them, basically recommends you how to build characters and stuff. You don't have to abide by it or anything, but if you ever feel confused on what weapon you should give to a character or something, this can help you.
Hey for what it's worth, i was also absolutely obliterated at the dragonspine ruin guard fight xD
And it really shows how much you've improved! You're getting the feeling of teams and of which characters work better together, and your combat skills are improving too.
Overall, i'm happy you're enjoying the game! As much as i feel impatient sometimes, because man do i wanna see your reaction to some cool main story things, i also love that you aren't rushing.
I mean come on, AR 32 already? it all happened so fast lol
oh and someone did mention before, you can claim reputation rewards! after you do a certain amount of bounties, requests, world quests and exploration, you get exp and unlock rewards, some are really really handy :3
just to let you know the next banner has two AMAZING SS tier characters, Neuvilette and Kazuah! i have both and they are amazing!!
You can aim upwards with Chiori's skill then plunge attack
Tip for dragonspine, melt all the snow/ice piles, if they aren't obvious Elemental Sight is a life saver. The fire seelies are sometimes buried in snow. – Also you just took another step to completing that quest on dragonspine you didn't know how to tackle. It's basically just the last big frozen crystal in the big cavern, I think you could probably handle the time-trial now with Bennet on the team.
I'm sure someone said it, but the sacrificial sword might be the best sword for your boy Xingqiu because it has a chance to reset the CD of his skill.
Regarding Fontaine and Freminet that's so up to you, I think the game assumes you follow the story, I don't really know how it would play out to go there before the story goes there. I mean fortunately you got and like a lot of the early regions characters that you can level up.
There's a new feature that was added in this update called the training guide in paimon menu. Check it out if you can. it will help a lot.
Sacrificial sword is really good for xingqiu! It basically gives you two skill uses instead of one!
1:25:37 u can use Xiao's E skill and quickly change to Jean, to fill Jean's Ultimate
Itto's similar to Xiao in that they both specialize in specific attack types. They also deal the most damage during their burst. Xiao's main damage comes from his plunge (pogo-ing) attacks and Itto's comes from his charged attacks. He gets a special type of charged attack compared to other claymore characters. He gains stacks of this special charged attack by normal attacking, and you can tell how many of them you have by how lit up the glowing mask behind him is. His usual playstyle is to rack up stacks of the special charge attack, then holding down the attack button and going ham on the enemies. Oh, and his little bull friend is cute and taunts enemy attacks away from you. 😊
Gorou only appears whenever Itto's on the banner because he is designed to work with him. Itto's damage increases based on his defense, and Gorou gives defense buffs to the active character. He's also good at generating crystallize shards. It counts as a shield for the primo geo vishap boss.
1:07:35 he lamented too hard
1:34:17 he disappeared too hard
Calvin has finally said the words, "Mondstadt feels like home. It feels safe." I didn't expect you to say it so soon, but it's so true, at least to me and the majority of other players. You'll feel even more strongly about that statement once you go further into the game as well. 🙂
i think when people were saying that they think you’d like itto i think they meant more of his personality! he’s a very fun laid back character i think you’d like him too, maybe you could check out some of his voice lines to get a feel for his personality!
1:07:04 ahhh yes, xiao's trailer reenactment. poor fatui agent
Commenting as I watch honestly, so sorry for the mass amounts of comments.
I see you spotted Albedo 😉 If you want him, definitely go for him! He's in your radar for short men lol and super useful as a sub dps or even main dps if you want him!
That Dragonspine quest with the ball that said start was an old quest you started a couple of months ago but never finished. So you have to go back into your quest log to follow the instructions on what to do next. 😊👍 Hope that helps!
ALSO!! Please retry Itto's trial if you have the time and use his ult, after hitting him some normal attacks, and use his CHARGED ATTACKS! I promise you wont regret it!! His charge attacks are sooo fast and as an itto main, it hurts you didnt use it 🥹
Here I was pulling on this banner wanting to get characters that I don't already have. And all I got was what seemed like an endless amount of Dori, who I already had. 😢. But on a good note, I lost the 50/50 to Tighnari, who I'm having a lot of fun using. So it wasn't all bad
When you use Chiori's skill, the next action you take affects what happens.
If you immediately use her skill again after casting it, she swaps to the next party member in line and Tamato will do coordinated attacks.
If you attack immediately after using her skill, it infuses her weapons with Geo for 5 seconds.
Additionally, if there's a Geo Construct on-field (or you summon one while Tamato is on-field) a 2nd Tamato will be created. (Her C1 changes it so that as long as there's 2 Geo characters in the party she'll always create 2 dolls with or without constructs).
—————————
Itto is built around his charge attack, and uses super-strength charges to power it up. Every 2 hits of his attack combo, every 2nd hit of his burst, damaging enemies with his skill (and then enemies attacking his construct afterward) all create charges, which he consumes to do a special charge attack which is more stronger than normal, scales from Defense, and costs no stamina, but it only lasts for 1 attack per strength charge.
His kit is decently similar to Noelle's as their bursts work exactly the same (though Noelle's persists through character swaps while Itto's does not). And Noelle is more focused on normal attacks instead of charge attacks (though her C2 does buff her Charge attacks enough to be almost equivalent to a normal attack, especially once you take into account the higher rate of attack her spin does).
Itto though is basically pure damage, while Noelle does only a little bit less (8-30% depending on the exact party comp (Noelle works better the more Geo there are as it helps deal with her energy issues, where as Itto generates enough that he can run double geo fairly easily without a dedicated battery).
————————
Gorou is basically the Geo-specific Bennet. A lot of Geo scale from Defense instead of a Attack, and Gorou buffs defense about as much as Bennet buffs atk. However in order to get the full effect of his bonuses, there needs to be at least 3 Geo characters in the party. So Gorou is basically forced to do mono-geo (or 1 token element to generate crystalize).
Gorou's skill and burst do almost the exact same thing (there's 3 levels of effect based on the number of Geo in the party), except the burst lasts slightly longer, moves with the active character and pulses geo damage periodically but has downtime (and will automatically suck up nearby crystalize shards).
While his skill has a fixed location but can be spammed to have 100% uptime as it's cooldown is shorter than it's duration. The exact benefits depend on the number of Geo party members present (Gorou included), up to 3 which is where it's most useful benefit is acquired. (1-2 geo is just minor interruption resistance and some extra defense).
the main differnece though is that Gorou's buff doesn't get the ability to heal without his C4 (and his buff needs to be at lvl 2 or higher for the healing to enable).
————————
Yun-jin is a normal attack support. Her skill works like a parry skill (you can either charge it for a long time to deal full damage OR if you time it right, she can unleash a powerful counter-attack immediately if she does it right as an attack connects with her).
her burst applies added damage to normal attacks of party members while her buff is active, with a shared pool of 30 modified attacks (or lasting 12 seconds) whichever happens first. (each enemy hit consumes an attack, so characters with long-range normals (like Noelle during her burst) that can hit multiple enemies per swing, can rapidly eat the charges)
GEO CHARACTER BREAKDOWN:
– Itto!!! Itto is a main DPS. You prioritize building stacks (seen by the emblem behind him) and once you reach max stacks, you can perform a charge attack that takes no stamina. Normal attacks and throwing and hitting a character with Ushi, his skill, also builds stacks. You want to use these, however, in his burst because he gets a huge damage boost based on his defense. You would build him with def% sands, geo dmg goblet, and a crit rate/dmg circlet. Attack is kinda useless on him. Ushi is a geo construct. Also he shares the same english va as Ryuji from Persona 5 :).
– Gorou!! Our favorite dog boy 🙂 Gorou is a geo defense buffer and support. When he places down his skill, characters will get a defense buff. At higher levels and constellations, it actually gets crazy. His burst is him picking up his skill and it is now mobile and follows the active character. He is often played in mono geo (at least 3 geo characters) and is the premiere choice for these teams!! You want to build energy recharge and stack defense on him for the damage buff!! If you run him with favonius, crit rate is useful to procc the passive!
– Albedo!!! I FUCKING LOVE ALBEDO RAAAAAAAAAAAH HES SO STRANGE AND WEIRD AND FUNNY anyways albedo is a sub dps! He provides off-field geo damage. Albedo, unfortunately, stands in a limbo in that he doesn't have a permanent signature weapon, his bis and signature being a free event weapon that you can't get anymore. Chiori's new sword would be the best option for him but for free options, you honestly just got harbinger of dawn, a three star weapon. His skill drops a field that procs a tick of geo damage every 2 seconds when the active character attacks an enemy. There is some controversial stuff with Albedo. His skill scales exclusively with defense, but his burst scales on attack. That means you will have to prioritize which damage you want to use him with. This is something that honestly shouldnt have been implimented and them "fixing" this with constellations is honestly scummy. His skill counts as a geo construct, and can be destroyed by bosses. Regardless, he is a great character and very lovely. Geo will be want to be built with def%, geo, and crit circlet. I am definitely normal about him.
– Chiori! Despite being shown as dual wielding, it is only cosmetic and has no impact on gameplay so there isnt any plus other thna flair lmao. Chiori is Albedo 2.0 lmao. She is also a sub dps. However, instead of split scaling, she is dual scaling. However, she prefers defense. Like Albedo, weapon options are limited. After using her skill, she gets a geo infusion for a few seconds. This, however, scales with attack. She drops her dolls and can switch to the next character who will then use their skill. This can be a bit of a problem with some team comps but it can be worked around. You still want to build her with def%, geo dmg, and crit circlet. She is really fun!!
– Yun Jin! Yun Jin is a support normal attack buffer. She is a pretty niche unit and a strange addition in geo. She prefers to be in teams that are not only geo. Her skill is not a shield but more like an option to parry, but you can hold it and charge it to the second. Her burst is the buff. She has energy issues, so you want to stack energy recharge on her. However, her buff is based on her def% so you want to stack as much def% and er on her. You should play her on favonius lance which is a great support weapon.
Itto, Gorou, Yun Jin, and Chiori are characters you must finish Liyue and go to Inazuma to raise, just like Sayu. Yun Jin, despite being Liyue, has her ascension boss in Inazuma. You will have to wait to raise them. Albedo you can farm for immediately 🙂 Geo as an element stands apart from the other ones. There are some exceptions that excel in it outside of geo teams, but they tend to vibe together. Either way, Geo is really fun!! It truly is the oonga boonga element lmao.
ALSO!!!! Sacrificial is the best weapon for Xingqiu please put it on him!! It has the chance to reset his skill!! At higher refinements, the chance of it resetting gets even higher.
Sacrificial is basically Xingqiu's best weapon unless he's C6. His skill generates obscene amount of hydro energy, but has a long cooldown. Sac Sword fixes that. However until R3+, he can only double tap his skill every other rotation due to the innate cooldown on the weapon. (R3+ gives the weapon an equal or lower cooldown than his skill (and also increases the base chance for it to fire)).
40% might sound low, however it's 40% every time an enemy is damaged by skill damage while the character is on-field. And Xingqiu's Rainguard Slash has a fairly wide aoe and can hit a lot of enemies at once if you aim it carefully (It also hits twice, if you're close enough to the enemy, since he strikes in a Z pattern when using it, though the 2nd strike has a shorter range than the first wide sweep), which can basically guarantee that it works. The cooldown is 10 seconds longer than his skill cooldown, but for open world content that isn't bad since you pretty much kill everything once his burst is active anyway, and the Sac buff just needs to ensure that you can get his burst back on demand if it's not ready by the next pack of enemies.
I’d recommend pulling for itto bc you use everyone as dps
Personally, this current banner is a HARD skip, especially since the next one has two of my fav characters! Chiori has some cool animations and Itto is pretty fun in the story, good luck on your future pulls
Calvin! You have to accept your reputation rewards in the bottom left corner when you talk to the reputation lady 😄
Forgot you were uploading today. Hiii
Ps check top left of map it lets you know things you need to claim
JuSt A puBliC eXeCutIoN
always confusing when genshin players say you'll/they like or dislike a character and never specify if they mean personality or kit lol.
like Amber is a very beloved character for example (especially after the webcomic) but from outside looking in it most seem like everyone just hates her cause of meta players xD
Ahhhh, I can't wait for Calvin to do the "Who's Mondstadt's strongest fighter?" quest.
Also I might be biased but Albedo is great ❤
i highly recommend from bottom of my heart to wait for 1 april when the new banners come they are more worth it then this banner for ne players
I honestly like how you explore the game! It's relaxing and not thinking about anything difficult just having fun is a great content in my opinion! You do you roamer!
For chiori's swapping mechanic, after using her E. You have a few seconds to swap off to another character.
Yun Jin's E is a parry, so if you time it correctly you recieve no damage and you deal the same damage as if you charged it completely. If you like Sekiro you might like her. Beidou and Candace also have a parry if you are interested in that kind of gameplay and you get them someday.
1:38:57 calvin there are many snow piles there just use some fire on them and the sellie will be out. The sellie is inside one of those snow piles. And the ball that flew up is part of the quest "Thaw out the shards" Just find one more ball like thinv in dragonspine and make it fly up the mountain too and you'll be able to continue the quest.
As someone who pulled for chiori, i dont recomend getting her since she needs a second geo construct meaning that you would need to use ninguang
I hope we get an abyss ep soon, xiangling is waiting for you!
Congratulations on the Sacrificial Sword!! It's the best on Xingqiu when you refine it
Some characters are meant to be mainly supports so that's why they dont feel fluid. They are supposed to come out, use their skills and then leave space for the main character (Like Gorou with Itto) You can tell wich one they are by how much their skills last or if it stills on field when they leave.
PD: You should slap the sacrificial sword on Xinqiou whenever you can, that´s a great weapon for him since it lets you kick again (if the odds are on your favor)
Love Your vids!
1:07:35 poor xiao lmao 😭😭
IMPORTANT: Seeing as you've decided to wish on Chiori's banner, I figured you might want to know that one of Chiori's ascension materials can only be obtained in Fontaine — this is going to be a similar case with Freminet in that it wants you to go in a different region. Just letting you know because I think you're still having doubts about venturing into that region until you make it to the Fontaine story (the same reason why you decided not to use your Freminet just yet). If you somehow managed to get Chiori, it's either you'll go to Fontaine to get one of her materials or you settle with level 40 Chiori until you get to Fontaine story arc.
Hi, I don't know if you will pull for the weapon banner this time or not, but if you do planning on that, you should choose the sword since I saw you wanted to get Chiori more than Itto, if you don't pull for him then I don't think you should choose his weapon 😅
Even Manly Jack isn't as bad of a character as Mika
Chiori is probably the worst limited 5 star of all time. Not the worst 5 star because Dehya exists.
Went on a long school trip and just come back. The first thing I did was open my laptop and search "roamer"…. Guess you've become my comfort genshin streamer🥺 (ik this ain't a stream)
I would recommend you to save primos and pull for now cause a very cool and one of the most hype character is coming next patch which I think you'll like that character a lot sooo save stuff for that character
Xingxiu's constellations are very good and I would strongly recommend picking them up whenever you can. He's in the shop right now and he only appears every 6 months. You can do the same for Xiangling, Fischl and Bennett when they appear. As you have plenty of characters now vertical investment does make sense and constellations are a great way to do that.
Obviously do what you like, but it's a few wishes with a chance at a random character vs guaranteed improvement of characters you like.
As always, loving the let's play and love your style so not trying to tell you what to do!
