I always see it as Att% is better for people who don't really need to crit, sounds weird but let me explain. I run Fischl with very low CR and CD but insanely high att, roughly around 3k somethin without buffs (good substats). Then I snapshot and buff, her Oz does retarded dmg with the occasional nuke of a crit. Could I build her more crit focused? Yeah, but I would lose my att by a whole lot. And Att% is MUCH easier to aquire and roll than those perfect crit ratios. And since she's just an off field support, why spend 20k resin building her for like an extra 2 to 4k damage overall? Now, if it's for your main DPS, go off, it's entirely up to you. It's always nice to see big numbers and good ratios on the unit you have out 90% of the time. But for supports, att% on every artifacts including the headpiece (differs for DEF scaling obviously). It does way more consistent damage, and if you run teams with cryo res or ways to buff crit like with food you'll def see much better bang for your resin buck. Just my thoughts, love to hear yours!
They are the same. Boosting either by the same percent is ab equal dps increase. The difference is stacking atk has diminishing returns and there are other ways to boost atk. Depends on the character, their element, and the type of sans you wear. Also depends on base atk.
My attack% helmet on xiao: 👁👄👁
I got 74% crit rate and 174% crit dmg
You cant hit hard without flat attack and attack%. Its simple math and people dont get that sometimes.
Atk% is great when base attack of the Character is high
And Xiao and Eula has 2 of the highest base attack in game so atk% on them is really good
And Eula with Broken Pines takes even more advantage from atk%
Except you're comparing what's like 2 CritDmg rolls with 5 ATK% rolls
Naturally ATK% is gonna win out, just by sheer amount
i wanted to say something smart about which stats are better for which character but my brain exploded when i was looking at stats of characters looking for examples and i realised that Hu Tao has 106 base atk at lvl90 :DDDDDD
at least i found great example, if you have Hu tao, getting atk% for her is just as good as getting flat def x)
show her some love and get CR and CD for her x)
but for Eula+broken pines which is i believe the highest base atk combination in the game at the moment getting %atk is obviously viable
I was expecting you to place atk% main stat on everything. The time piece, cup piece and circlet! That would be a very fun little experiment! Maybe next time! 😂🤣 No crit rate or dmg! Just raw attack! Haven't seen anyone do that yet!
my xiao only using atk% and only 80% crit dmg with 21% crit rate
We need a more deterministic approach… How about trying to get the same crit rate on the same type of circlet but one circlet is att% and the other is Cdmg % .. that will show a lil bit better the comparison betweem stacking one of them .
But there is an already established 'estimate ' as per the maximum damage per second you can do on a character. And the conditions are:
1-2 ratio of crit rate vs crit dmg while maintainsing as close as you can to 214% overall attack of your base attack.
Edit: i rewarched the video and the attack stacking version does not apply to the 214% ; 1-2 ratios … So there is more to be said about the sample size people have used thus far to come up with that ratio . Well that means that every character is not the same . What i would to see personally is .. stacking the hell out of attack % on a character with little to no crit and crit dmg . I dont have the resources nor patience to find out for myself and haven't seen nobody yet do that.
Another thing to keep in mind is that there are a lot of ways to buff your attack (Bennett, pyro resonance, 4pc Nobless, etc) while there is no way of buffing ur crit dmg, making Atk stacking hit the point of diminishing returns way faster then crit dmg when team synergy is considered.
There's a reason we look for Att% as a primary stat in MapleStory and leave Crt Dmg% second. Same thing applies to this game.
I have 2.3k attack 66/186 and my hold e on childes last form with the same exact scenario (only zhongli shield) hit for 60k vs your 57k. I suppose if you're still talent level 10 on your E then it could be pretty close to the same because I'm talent level 11 on E. I did test it with a 2.5k attack (difference of 200 attack) 66/160 (difference of 26 crit dmg) but it was definitely not better despite having more attack so it probably depends.
LMAO, shit son, this made my eyes water. Great job!
This is why Bennett is broken. People stack crit damage instead of balancing atk with crit damage and use Bennett to balance it out. But we can’t have 2 Bennett’s so it’s good to balance it out. Then there’s valk who doesn’t use Bennett lmao
The secret sauce, as with life in general, is BALANCE! Some attack, crit rate, crit damage, elemental/phys boost all working together gets you that big, consistent DPS.
Cuz eula base atk is high and your weapon atk is the highest in genshin impact.
Attack% better with the Highest base attack.
we all know that the best substat is energy recharge
atk% is higher boost when your character + weapon have high base atk
wait 14% CD vs 300 ATK? lmao what? 😂
a perfectly rolled CD on substats give you 42% CD and a perfectly rolled ATK sub stat gives you about 250-350atk (depending on the base atk)
of course 14% CD would have nowhere near the value of 300atk.
this is a small hypothesis of mine I didn't really test out
from what I've heard, the golden stat ratio is 3:1:2, meaning your attack should be 3x your base attack, and your crit rate to damage should be 1:2
I've also heard seen that the best crit rate to crit damage ratio to use while going for high attack stats is around 75:150, which partially lead me to a conclusion that adding more crit rate/crit damage after those numbers would lead to diminishing returns, and that it would be better to focus on other stats like attack, elemental mastery, or energy recharge
If you manage to get the attack goal of 3x base attack (which would likely include Bennett burst tbh) I reckon it'd be best to start working on energy recharge or elemental mastery to further increase DPS instead of going more crit stats, best to balance it out
these are still just small math theories I haven't really tested out because I dunno how to though, so I guess take it with a grain of salt?
