  1. OKAY SO TL:DR OF OPINIONS NOW THAT I'VE HAD TIME TO PROCESS

I enjoyed this quest a lot, it's opened up a LOT of new avenues to go down. I do think the voice at the end could be Istaroth and she might be annoyed people are meddling with time and fate but it could be a lot of things. I still dislike the memory wipe troupe when it's a character we've developed a lot of lore around but it is what it is!

I'm still mad we didn't ask about the sky

  2. Tbh after some time for you to process it even longer you will realise its better than you think. You tedn to get too wound up about details than before lol This is the best route the could have done for him because if it was full wipe no one would be happy and if they didnt do it he would have no character devleopment

  3. i am actually glad that Ashikai's theory about fairytales cannot be changed by irminsul actually is true…so when she said fictional stories may have more actual lore than reading material since irminsul can change factual information….still mind blown that it became an actual plot point

  4. Bran, thank you for reading a bunch of the texts. I could never deal with a wall of text like that. This is why, I play as quickly as I can and then watch your playthrough to enjoy the story. 😁

  5. I would just like to say: This was no redemption. And I say that because Scara personally made it clear that he wants the Traveller to tell his victims that he was responsible for the Raiden Gokaden incident. Of all the things he had to make up for, that quite literally was the one thing he did of his own accord. As for everything else, why was there any need to own up to anything when 1) Those weren't of his own consciousness, he was only following orders. Such things are meaningless to him, as he never really cared for the other evil he had caused because he knows that's not for him to own up to. In this regard, it still very much suits his character, while also not apologizing for something he had done ( because again, why would he)

He is making up for HIS mistakes. But note that he never asked for forgiveness. he just said "Oh yeah, and tell those people because they probably forgot because of my little stunt the true story behind me and my involvement."

He won't own up to the Fatui's, the Akademiya's mistakes tho. Those are for them to own up to.

  6. I'm thinking that voice is probably Istaroth, the "Thousand Winds"/God of Time that's been alluded to by Mondstadt lore/Enkanomiya lore, she'd be the only one who remembers the timeline change since even Paimon and Nahida were affected by the Irminsul history rewrite, so the Hydro and Pyro Archons would be affected as well

  7. I’m just trying to understand your perspective here, but why do you think it’s a cop out when he said he wanted the Gokaden to know that he was the reason for its destruction? That seems like he’s taking responsibility to me, but maybe I misunderstood you

  8. I don't think it's coping out really
He is not really escaping responsibility, and he wasn't in the first place
He tried the only thing he knew to try and save his friends and change their fate, and failed in this, but now he is calmer because he knew he tried. What about his evil deeds, almost no one knew it was him, so it didn't really change anything. He still know it was him so in terms ot guilt he knows he is guilty of those and has no intent of denying it before himself, Nahida or us. Even told us to tell people who was previously unavare of it it was him. No one really knew about him being responsible for murder before that Irodori festival, and even then we deduced it. I don't remember if we tell everyone about it or keep it to ourself.
On the other side Nahida now has a former Fatui no one in Fatui knows of which is hilarious. Nahida is the best.

  9. When Ruka deleted herself, she also changed the outcome for the world. Thanks to her being gone, the corruption was gone as well and the people with the illness got cured. The same way when Wanderer attempted to wipe himself from existence, he failed because of what ''the voice'' at the end explains how fate works in Teyvat. He would still exist in some shape or form so his life just went by but differently. He did change the fact that he was not the one to kill the swordsmiths, so in his stead Dottore was the one to do it as it was said in the texts the 2 Sumeru scholars showed. This also means Dottore never got to experiment on Wanderer. So he did change his previous sins, but he failed to save his friends either way. It is not simply making people forget your name. It did have an impact on the timeline.

p.s. And yes the Traveler was worried and with reasons, because if we assume he truly was able to delete himself completely ( we now learned its not possible), many more things could have changed drastically. For example it would mean Ei never created a prototype body, which could mean her plan failed or she gave up on it, and Ei ended up never making the Raiden Shogun. That on itself would have changed SO much. If Wanderer didn't exist it could have also changed the fate for Kamisato, Ayaka and Kazuha since both their families were involved in the incident. If for some alteration one of their descendants were to die earlier, Kazuha and Kamisato/Ayaka wouldn't exist.

Also when he says to carry his sins it means that even though he didn't do anything wrong in the known current timeline, he recognizes previously he did do bad things. SO his responsibility now is to learn from the info gathered and AVOID something like that happening. He has had 3 existences in 2 timelines. In first line, the scara that was used and mislead that did evil things. In the second line, the wanderer that was abandoned and simply kept a peaceful existence. And in that same line, the Wanderer that did nothing wrong, but had all the additional knowledge of how things could go wrong because of him being mislead. In short, his current self is one that gained knowledge he shouldn't have but because of that information he now has to carry the weight of the responsibility it involves. He is more complete and complex now.

  10. I think the memory alteration aspect of this quest was done pretty well. However, I also believe Irminsul will end up getting burned soon enough to prevent this kind of plot device from being overused (or to prevent us from learning more valuable information).

  11. Scara and Ei have the same fates, funny. Both were too overwhelmed by the deaths of their lovedones, both became villains that were willing to reach their goals in the expense of other people's lives (let's not pretend like Ei's vision hunt decree didn't cause the deaths of thousands of inazumans). The wa countless deaths from the war within Inazuma are both their faults, and Ei has the heavier burden to bear. Scara may have given the delusion to Kokomi's soldiers, but it was ultimately Ei shitty decision that killed all of them. If one of them had taken the time to process their emotions and not let it control them, none of the pain that happened within Inazuma would've happened. And let's be honest, the dirtiest hand is the doctor's. Scara may have given the delusion but the doctor was the string master puppeting the baladeer. If anything, Scara erasing his deeds wasn't redemption. As Nahida said, he might've erased the memories of his awful deeds in the land but, his past is bound to catch up to him
And these are all with him remembering what he did. Him erasing his memories was born out of selfishness, which Nahida didn't support. It was in character of him to do so. He knew at that moment that revenge was impossible but he wanted to be rid of all the things he felt.

  12. I named him Kurokukaze, meaning “Blackened Wind”
I didn’t bother trying to name him something ridiculous, because I actually wanted the name to mean something rather than basically insulting him with a stupid name.
Besides, i get to experience the stupid names when OTHER people do it, so no need for me to do it myself.

  13. This is under the assumption that changes in the Irminsul only removes the memories when in fact, any changes in it results in physical changes in Teyvat to accommodate the said changes. When Rukkhadevate was removed from the Irminsul, she was not only forgotten, she was totally erased from everything in Teyvat, which included her name in the 3 "Folio in Foilage" books. If only memories were erased, any entry in tangible copies would have been unchanged.

  14. 2:52:27 He literally says he will embrace his sins… he is not coping out… You were so hellbent in your ideas that you ignored one of the most important lines in this characterization. Well I guess this is what happens when Paimon doesn't repeat stuff for you.

3:02:18 I guess Paimon also didn't repeat the obvious to you again… You again ignored his determination to embrace his sins and not coping out.

  15. I don't think Scara got forgiven. They make his arc as someone who caring all of his own sins till his death. If I remember correctly, his new outfit have a Buddhist monk style, that's mean he is become a monk not to atone his sins but come to term and living with his sins. In Buddhism, you can't erase your sins, it will always be there but you have to accept it and living with it till you die.

  16. I totally understand why you did not like the direction the story went, it’s totally fair to feel that way, and I totally understand that the people who lost loved ones might not find the closure they deserve. Still it might just be me, but this whole thing with everyone forgetting him may not be as bad, at least I don’t think so.
I personally think it’s good that people forgot. I think of it like this, Niwa is dead either way, the difference is that instead of dying as traitor, he died as the hero he was, now it’s known that Nagamasa didn’t kill Katsuragi in a fit of rage, but that Katsuragi sacrificed himself, the world forgot pain, but the Wanderer did not, he will be the one living with the guilt, and he already said he wants to pay for the sins he committed. The only ones that lose really are him, and the one member Raiden Gokaden clan that, in this iteration, was the one responsible for the murders of the other clans. I think it’s better that the world was able to forget, because even if they didn’t, what would they be able to do? Confronting a divine puppet? And nothing he would do would bring the ones he harmed back.
The world was able to heal, but he cannot. The world was able to move on, but he cannot. He will keep existing knowing the suffering that he caused, and there’s nothing he can do to amend what has been done.
The only thing he can do is keep going, trying to be a better person from here on out. One step at a time to balance the evil he brought to this world, with the goodness that’s to come.

Again this is just my personal opinion, and this is how I interpret what happened, perhaps not the conclusion the people wanted, but I am quite satisfied with it.
I would love to hear other’s perspectives on this quest.

  17. The reason why I haven’t done this quest yet, is literally because I’m very indecisive, I can’t decide on a name yet and him being one of my favourite characters… I need to think very carefully about this.

  18. I name him Yuchiha Zennosuke, derived from Uchiha (Sharigan all over his new & old design), Yu means Niwa and also link to feather from Raiden, Yuchiha means inherit Niwa's name & his spirit, Zen means peace and Kindness which is his natural trait when he was Kabukimono (Wanderer is the outcome if he never meet & join Fatui).

  19. Always looking forward to your reactions, the best part is that you actually seek out the lore and discuss about it make it sooo much more bearable when reading long text with someone so enthusiastic, feel better too.
P.S: your contents are always top notch I'm excited to see more.

  20. Do you remember that partition panel of the 5 kasen Albedo painted for the Irodori festival? Kunikutzushi no longer appears on it when you wet it. Because he deleted himself from Irminsul. My mind literally blown when I found out.
