Paimon isn't a nail, but it's not really up for argument that her design greatly resembles the designs of anything related to Celestia. But she also isn't a descender, unless she is really good at faking it. She is very knowledgably about the elements for no good reason, though, while being ignorant of almost everything else in Teyvat.
Lmao, imagine if Paimon is the remains of the 3rd descender, though. We know descenders are people from another world, who elemental abilities come natural to.
After her death, and her body being turned into gnoses, Paimon was able to preserve her consciousness, and it was reborn as our Paimon. We know that some things can happen to have descenders become native to Teyvat (as happened to the other twin).
This could explain all the little "hints" that Paimon will betray us. She is the mascot character, so she probably won't be evil, but is it possible she would want to reclaim her gnoses and powers? And she's befriended the traveler just to use them for her gain, but ended up genuinely becoming friends?
