Fontaine is upon us and so is the 4.1 update. I imagine a new sword character may be on the horizon in upcoming patches, so we need to both save up our primogems and try to finish building our current characters. So today we bestowed a crown upon Ayaka’s head for the first time.

However, the Spiral Abyss is still proving to be quite a challenge…

Swords Only in Genshin Impact can be quite challenging at times. However, as the self-proclaimed master of “Weapon” Only challenges in this game, I am able to best any obstacle (probably).

HoYoVerse put out a tweet saying “Polearm Impact”… So I decided to take it upon myself to make a new account, but only use characters who wield a sword because absolutely nobody asked me to.

  6. The monolith is trash in this game overall as a mechanic but in Abyss is bullshit times 1000000000. I have good enough characters to admitedly barely but still completed 12. . . . .i'm not kidding when i say the freaking monolith always takes me longer and more attempts and having enemies that can't be tricked into targetting you like the Samurais and so on instead having multiple enemies that never target you and instead beeline it for the monolith like slimes is just garbage.
    I gave up and will give up on all Abyss tries from monolith onwards until they change it honestly,i lose nothing except one goddamn pull anyway and losing one to two pulls every 2 weeks is a price i am willing to pay to keep my sanity which admitedly is not worth losing over anything in Abyss not to mention the bullshit floors.

  7. I Strongly Recommend leveling Kuki to 90. It is quite literally a 30% damage increase on hyperblooms JUST by going from lv 80 to lv 90. Same goes for your entire Nilou bloom team.

  9. I suggest fighting abyss individually, bring teams that work best for chamber 1 then after 3 staring it restart this time with teams that work best in 2nd chamber so you can farm energy in first chamber and the same goes for 3nd chamber

    Some tips:
    Lvl hyperbloom and bloom characters to lvl90 for more dmg, namely kuki, nilou and ayato if he is the driver

    Try pulling for the new hp aot sword, more sheild hp less dying

    Kazuha+Bennett together gonna shred any cryo shield so run a team with these two and the second team can run hyperbloom or bloom

  19. If needing mora, and haven't already, go to northland bank, talk to the lady and the front desk, and exchange the mora what you got from Childe to your wallet and you'll get all the mora

  25. clearing abyss without stars is actually good considering it gives you mora and you’re broke (and more artifacts to strongbox/couple of heroes’ wit or hero’s wit or whatever it is)

  29. i actually regularly have more primos than mora on my main account… mostly because i was pull happy instead of build happy for the entirety of my account up until like the last two months, so now i’m slowly fixing my account 😭 i’m also always resin broke LOL

  30. The samurai drops feel like the worst in the game. the tainted hydro phantasms also are kinda tanky but they give a lot of drops so it actually feels rewarding

  34. JAVA,
    Just a friendly reminder that it is worth taking certain characters to level 90. There is a dmg% that is subtracted for every level you are under the enemys level that you are attacking. So your damage from units like Ayaka and Nilou is significantly reduced by not having them at 90.

    Tldr; 90 your ayaka and nilou, instead of artifacts.

  45. Hey Java, I know you sometimes (intentionally) forget to do events. But it is absolutely CRUCIAL for you to do the events on Spells Only this patch. Not only cuz of the cryo catalyst but also because there's a free catalyst weapon in the event that is quite good on Neuvillette
