On the contrary, new characters announced as early as possible is great for wish planning, it manages hype/expectations so less people go "omg best unit ever!/gonna be absolute trash" (until their teasers, demos and kits are announced at least) and it shows more openness from hoyo. Maybe even a possibility for more roadmaps in the future.

    It only deters leaks a tad bit, giving f2ps less reason to get into leaks for a unit they want unless they care about the kits more than characterization (or need to know the kits to make a final decision ig)

  22. You answered yourself near the end of the video, 3 new characters for majority of playerbase just means 3 new characters they won't get anyways, so it's the equivalent of announcing a digital collectors edition of a game for 300 dollars, 90% of people aren't going to spend money on that shit

  26. It's such a bummer for me because I know that Hoyoverse can make amazing content and idk how genshin just got… this… treatment. In the last 3 weeks for honkai we got a character with an unprecedented combat system (no actual attacks, she switches between these emplacement turret cannon and minigun and a Dr robotnik plan to attack through them), a whole new open world campaign with deckbuilding, and a turn based roguelike game, all in the same patch. And it wasn't even a special patch. Meanwhile genshins like "here's 2 hds of storyline and a power crept out clone of another character but in a new element, see ya in 2 months" all the time.
