How Thelxie Explains that Teyvat is FAKE | Genshin Impact Theory Speculation

This is a speculation and theory video about a discussion we had relating to Thelxie’s Fantastic Adventures Event. Maybe I am overthinking this… but Thelxie’s situation about Zuria’s son might be hinting and something way more than the event outlines initially.

  1. This reminded me of a couple lines from Raiden's demo:
"Fantasy can only survive with an underlying reality
Reality is the stillness buried deep beneath the illusion
    This is eternity"

Do you think this might've been hinting at this?

  2. Genshin Impacts overarching theme explores the ideals of Fakes/Copies vs Originals. Its the same with Reality vs Fantasy. Many didn't understand it at the time, but Raiden Shogun/Ei's Arc is when the themes went in full force. Her Character Arcs shows the dangers of just thinking of this as "Fantasy", the themes are all over her character trailer: "Only Through Eternity are you closest to the Heavenly Principles. Lighting is eternal, the world is but a shadow. Fantasy can only survive with an underlying reality, Reality is the stillness buried deeps beneath the illusion(The abyss?), This is Eternity." also the last haiku "Waking world, you seem, woven from the stuff of dreams."

  3. 4:40 It makes sense because ultimately Elynas was the creation of Rhinedottir and that woman hails from Khaenri'ah. Also when I just did the Argenti companion quest in star rail i wondered if same is happening with us seeing different things and melusine seeing different things.

One time though, while collecting pages for the Book of Revealing, the melusine called Canotila saw a better place which was ultimately Mary Ann's house meanwhile we saw the enkanomiyan ruins and monsters along with the rift that was the part of the prophecy.

so if monsters appear out of the leylines, it would make sense that they were something else in the past.

i also wanted to ask if anyone has seen that K-Drama called Extraordinary You, ngl Teyvat feels like that to me

  4. "what is worse? harsh reality or white lies?" that's really a great way to look at it. at first i thought the abyss is the bad guy, but now celestia also take that place. if i were to choose i don't know which one to pick but i know for sure ill trust neuvillette judgement in a heartbeat lol

also thank you for the video island! if it not for this video ill just see this event as allegory of the fallen kingdom of khaenriah, not a single thought about this being teyvat is a fantasy world. really good food-for-thought video o/

  5. what if teyvat is just a "fantasy'" for the primordial one that she created when she won the war aganst the dragons and the laylines and irminsul are what keep the "fantasy" going which is why during the abyss desaster in khaneariah ruhkahdevata was tasked to protect irminsul, because with it destroyed or currupted there "fantasy" would be no more and i think the laws of teyvat are the primordial ones 'fantasy" because it was said somewhere that the primordial one could not use there absolute authority to surpress the natural order of this world that being the "reality" of the old world talked about by pierro.
and the gnosis are just the phisical representations of the laws with each gnosis representing the og archons ideals of celestias laws its likley since there from the 3 decender there not recorded by irminsul just like the traveler, and since the traveler is in a sense is a anomaly because there not from teyvat and if teyvat is somewhat a "fantasy" then the traveler is experiencing a "fantasy" world so if thats the case then the reason the tsaritsa wants the gnosis is because its a type of anomaly to teyvat because of how it comes from the remains of the third decender which is therized to be a star just like the traveler which is why the csing for the gnosis is gold just the the visions which are somewhat a small fragment of the gnosis power itself but if you notice snezhnaya visions are silver not gold and in greek mythology silver was said to be much more valuable then gold meaning that the tsaritsa wanting the dream of peace for teyvat by rebelling aganst celestia makes her goal much more importent because she wants to creat a new world a world where the gods were created to help and protect humans by guiding them to the right path a world were the abyss and celestial power coexist together a world were both the dragon sovereigns and the archons can share the authority of each element. this is the tsaritsa goal though she is hinted to be the god of love what is love without the peace in the world thats why the tsaritsa wants the gnosis not to just resurrect the 3 decender but to also use them and ask the traveler to burn away the old world for because they can use all 7 of the elements ana use them to burn the celestial laws of teyvat and create new laws that will benefit humanity dragons and the gods itself turining the gnosis casing into a shiny bright silver of pure ideals true love, true war, true justice, true wisdom, true eternity, true contracts, and most importently true freedom

  6. They’ve been telling us for awhile now that everything we see and experience is bullshit, which is why the twin told us that once we see the truth of this world, you’ll understand why they’re with the abyss. Nahida let it slip too: everything runs on a loop. This journey into the past we’re on is just taking us back to the beginning of this dream

  7. Amazing theory IslandXD ! I think it makes so much sense since you said it out loud. That's crazy 🙂 When you mention the rifthounds, abyss lectors (and why not dragon Durin), as you say they keep/we can see their real forms because their body can't accept this alien element, fantasy, but they can see it and wanting to be part of it , but accidently destroy "us", the living creatures in the fantasy. The abyss herald can switch forms because they have a higher capacity to be part of both words. Sorry if I don't make sense haha

  8. honestly, i've got this strange image in my head that the real Teyvat is actually completely different, The Teyvat we see now might just be a fantasy illusion created by the world. how crazy would it be if in the future the leylines malfunction in a part of the game, and all of a sudden its a dead and cold technological area with no fantasy to be seen, like a Honkai Impact type area.

  9. Theory aside, I think this is a good way to make content for you. It seems to be really well done to have post recording of explanation and have clips from the stream that introduce the topic. But we have… 3? 3 more nations after Fontaine and there are so many questions which I hope we could get more answers in the next Dainsleif quest but we are probably gonna get more questions than before 🙂

  10. Considering Otto(honkai guy) saw Dvalin & possibly Skirk as well as the "Seed of sumeru" in the one honkai manga it begs the question
    "Is teyvat a bubble universe?"
The sea of quanta being the reality to Teyvat's fantasy

  11. This is really interesting because there's a recent theory about the Flowers for Princess Fischl that says that, essentially, the first descender is the true Fischl spoken of in the book. Fischl was sent to whatever Teyvat is in reality for something, decided to start dreaming the world we see, and the descenders since have been sent to retrieve her and/or whatever the original mission was about – possibly the Genesis Pearl. I think ever since the first Samsara all the way back in 3.0, even the "real" dreams we saw in GAA 2.8, I think they've been priming us about the whole world being a series of domain-dreams.

  12. The Traveler's ability to switch between characters/companions makes more sense.
Maybe it is not just an inherent ability, but also Leyline energies. Each character the Traveler meets, their memory becomes a part of them.

  13. This is why the voice in the cup told you there are places the gods cannot see. Skirk also came through a vortex, so all the hex witches seem to have found away to exist outside of the fantasy.

  14. I think this theory might be on the money.
Consider that our twin stands for the abyss and refuses to meet us until we've reached the end of our journey and seen the truth of Teyvat for ourselves; this is a very direct challenge to our experiences in Teyvat as the travellers where we see the prettiness and charm of the world of Teyvat and it's people.

I think, like you said, the main conflict is going to boil down to choosing between sweet lies or harsh reality.
Teyvat is likely a completely sheltered and staged world surrounded by a protective barrier (the firmament) to keep the denizens from experiencing the truth and keeping them blissfully unaware of the harsh, cold, and scary reality waiting for them in the abyssal space beyond the walls of the "sky."
The abyss and the vast primordial sea are the True essence of the world outside, full of what we and perceive as monstrosities and horrors that could very easily destroy Teyvat and the life that inhabits it because they seem to have the instinct to destroy and assimilate all life in Teyvat. Just like was said in Durin's lore, his perception of Teyvat was completely different than the people who he was hurting and he thought he was just having fun and not killing people, and the exact thing happened with Elynas where he was just violently attacking people but once he was "killed" and became a part of Teyvat he was able to look at his actions and realize that he was hurting people and never wished to do it again, and has since chosen to stay petrified.

Is Celestia bad for making a sort of utopia for life to actually flourish in this potentially desolate universe, albeit through harsh control that might legitimately be necessary to protect the people of Teyvat from ever reaching the truth? Or should we cast aside this potentially false universe and accept that reality is truly the abyssal mire beyond and resign ourselves to the harsh truth?

  15. I just thought that with the fact that "Teyvat" means "Ark" and assuming that its symbolism stems from Noah's Ark, then Celestia trying to maintain the fake beauty of Teyvat may be their way of protecting the people from what may exist outside of it?

  16. The whole thing in Fontaine with fairy tales being so prevalent and constantly referenced and now fantasy being real, reminds me a lot of how we learned in Sumeru that dreams can alter/affect reality. Very neat!

  17. In that one Melusine quest we also halucinated and fought powerful opponents but in reality they were just slimes but the hurt as as what we saw them. Fantasy can effect Teyvat? Or at least the fantasy of a Descender changes the world around them. VISIONS are literally seeing stuff differently and changing the world through the lens they see it through, giving them local special powers!

  18. Wait… Why don't we extend this even further?
What if… we never woke up from the cubes the sustainer lockes us into, and we're in a world of imagination… or even a dream?
Could also mean that our twin is not a descender because we're also "dreaming" of meeting up with them
