Ayaka is having a rerun in a few days. So you’ll be in luck hehe
people don't like Eula because they have prejudice with physical damage characters because although Eula is cryo she is actually a character focused on physical damage and she is extremely strong mine can cause 500k damage in the ult even with mid artifacts
Hu Tao's kit may seem like a gamble, but she is most efficient when her HP is below 50%. She is usually built with HP in mind. She mostly has around 30k hp when fully built so 50% of that is not that much lesser compare to your regular unit who has 15k-20k HP. So it's not really much of a gamble. She also doesn't need a healer bcoz her burst heals a lot. In fact, you dont want to heal your Hu Tao always, that's why most Hu Tao users run with red HP bar. When she uses her skill, her ATK (usually around 1.0k or less without Staff of Homa) could shoot up to 3.0k+. She is a powerhouse but she is also not the easiest to use. As of now, I think she is still the best pyro dps.
"Nobody" is using Eula mostly because she is a physical dmg dps. And physical dmg is not much favored by the game. Also while her normal attacks hit hard (she could hit 14k-21k per hit), most of her dmg is in burst (the nuking sword at the end). It's either she doesn't crit, wasting the burst, or her enemies die before the nuke explodes, again, wasting the burst. She is strong, but it's just frustrating to use her sometimes.
Gorou is more like a geo/def buffer. Yun Jin is a normal attack buffer. So yes, you can use both. Becauuse of their kits scales off DEF, Gorou can further increase Yun Jin's buff. And Yun Jin being geo, can do the same for Gorou.
Miscellany Trailers are alright for beginners but it really just showcases character animations; they literally read out each character's kits which can be read in the character menus but not in practical team comps. They don't teach you things like how Hu Tao is basically married to Xingqiu to get her big Vaporize damage, or how high-cost burst-reliant characters like Eula and Cyno need a battery, or how characters like Kujou Sara and Klee are extremely clunky to play. It shows nothing of actual gameplay just like how Genshin's trial system doesn't really show you how they play practically.
A good follow up on this video would be to look at some of Vars II's (Why NO ONE Plays)/(Why EVERYONE Plays). that give a more neutral look at characters and explains mechanic's behind them.
Yes! Thank you for doing this, and pops off to yah for a good'l four horror video.
You may call him Dainsleif but I call him, SASUKE!!!
Oh, I actually want you to check out videos how the beta was compared to the official release of Genshin. You'll be, somewhat surprised.
I have Dehya. I don't regret having her since I specifically made sure to get her via saving up for absolute pity(180 rolls) and I farmed her matts and prepared Wolf Gravestone for her(probably second BiS for her) as well as farmed artifacts for her or gave her some of the better artifacts that my other characters have.
And yet, I completely and wholeheartedly agree that she desperately needs a buff of some kind.
Here are the problems when you build her;
1. DPS Build – unfortunately she needs a lot of energy to cycle her ult efficiently and she herself generates a very low amount of particles so she will need a battery in the form of another pyro character or a character equipping favonius weapons.(in my case both with Bennett and Kazuha using Favonius Sword)
She also needs to have a high energy recharge but that brings up a problem of lowering her damage because she now needs to invest those on ER. And the only viable artifact that increases her damage while also increasing her ER is Emblem of Severed Fate, which locks her to that artifact choice if you want to use her as the main DPS of your team.
Now, it would be good if after all of these she deals great damage right? But no, she doesn't.
Even with Bennett(Atk% buff), Kazuha(Pyro Res Shred) and Mona (Omen dmg bonus + Thrilling Tales buff) she still barely deals any significant damage.
This is because of her damage multipliers are so low, like 4 stars levels low. It results on subpar damage even when built properly.
2. Support Build – Her damage mitigation via taking that damage herself and her interruption resistance buff are what qualifies her as a possible support so let's take a look at those.
Interruption Resistance – Dehya's E will create a field which increases a character's resistance to interruption for 12 secs. Take this interruption resistance as a light one since some enemies can still power through it and stagger your character nevertheless. The real interruption resistance comes from her ascension passive that increases this interruption resistance buff further but only for 9 secs.
So in truth, Dehya can only grant you a total of 9 secs of truly uninterruptible state. This is too short, especially considering that the E skill which grants this buff has a 20 sec cooldown. Meaning a downtime of 11 sec.
The way to solve this is via equipping her with a Sacrificial Greatsword which allows her to use her E more often but this also means that she takes more time on field setting her E which is not good for efficiency at all.
Damage Mitigation – Dehya's E will allow her to take in the damage her teammates gets but only 50%(lvl 10 E skill). Which means your characters still will take 50% of the damage which means you still need a healer for them.
It doesn't help that Dehya can actually die off field if her self healing passive gets overwhelmed by the amount of damage she mitigates and takes.
And the worst part of all this is the fact that getting any sturdy enough shield is a lot better than what Dehya offers. If you have a shield up, not only would you not be staggered, meaning interrupted, but you also won't even take damage.
Only corrosion effects can penetrate a shield and actually deal damage to your characters and there's not many enemies that deal that type of damage. Besides corrosion can be easily countered by healers.
And so in conclusion, Dehya really needs some buff somewhere in her kit. Whether it be her damage multipliers to make her a viable dps or increasing the duration of her interruption resistance.
Oh, the reason why Liyue having a lot of polarm users is because their very useful in ancient China. Mondstad mostly represents swords, greatswords and magic; aside from magic but swords were used for honor, and spears and bow & arrow are despised in Mondstad in lore.
Personally, if I was in Genshin Impact, I'd choose a Polearm as well. I love them more since historically spears and polearms in general were primarily used and swords were secondary weapon incase you lost your main weapon, broke or bent.
Nilou is really fun to use but has a very restrictive niche. Not really a big deal since she's really good in that niche. Her Super Bloom team is literally the strongest AoE team that don't require farming for crazy artifacts. Her best team is with Nahida+Kokomi+Any Hydro as well as the most F2P friendly alternative team with DMC+Collei+Barbara which are all free to get. Also her build is just stacking HP as high as possible for C0 and you don't even need to level her talents. The rest of her team just need high EM stats especially with Nahida, Kokomi or Barbara as bloom drivers.
The downside is that the blooms also damages your active character. Now imagine fighting 8 mobs and each mob triggers a super bloom and they all explode at the same time… yeah. Also getting damaged by the bloom is required to get the additional party wide +100 EM.
It's no problem for Nilou with 60k+ HP but it's mostly other members who trigger the bloom that gets screwed so healers are required on her team as well as making sure you're not in the middle of the chaos.
My nahida has the highest death count because of it but it's just so fun to get blinded by the explosion and see everything die fast. It's also the reason I rarely use her super bloom on overworld since everything just dies before I could see lots of funny numbers.
She also works on Vape but I haven't tried it yet. Although from what I've seen it's pretty good.
A lot of people skipped on her initially because of the restrictive kit and also because Nahida's banner comes afterwards.
I played from 1.1. At that time I main Razor so I used Qiqi to provide super conduct reaction. Later I played Childe and Zhongli so no need Qiqi anymore.
Gotta say, Starting on Yelan's and onward, I know nothing of the lore they drop in.
I have klee, I use her as my main dps since 2021 and I love her so much, she's fun to play tbh.
the downside of klee :
– she's a solo dps type (her burst is gone if you switch to other character during her burst) only her E, her mines is an off field.
– she's a slow close-combat type as a catalyst user, compared to other catalyst users (even using the animation-cancel tricks, it's still kinda slow)
– you need to put a healer or shield for her. why? because she's always get burned by her own attacks when she's on top of grass.
I was playing With dori for a Short time and she is a great Support and healer and great With electro and i'm happy that i get hutao she is fun to play as hutao is my 2nd dps my 1st is Wanderer obviously and i'm happy that nilou get's a rerun in 3.6 With ganyu and nahida and i use faruzan as a Support for Wanderer
C2 Raiden Q DMG is 100K one strike
and her Raiden Sara Kazuha Bennet team is can do 1M DMG one strike
C2 Nahida is OP too
Nahida C2 is make her party 20~30% more strong and DMG is like Raiden
Cyno 100% need Nahida its a like arm and leg
for example ham sandwich with out ham same as this 😢
4h 36m from my life.
Worth it.
Yunjin goes very well with normal attack characters and if you use yoimia then you should try using Yunjin
You should check out Zy0x's channel, he makes character guides explaining how to build a specific character(best weapon, artifact set, team comp, ect.). He has a guide for almost every character, which can be used as a great guideline on how to optimally use a certain character.
Raiden Ei the best character in the game ????? Thats on point and I couldnt agree more
Since I started playing at launch and paying for the Welkin most of that time, I've gotten almost every character (Klee, Albedo, Xiao, Ayaka, Itto, Ayato, and Cyno being the exceptions) so it's hard to list out my experiences with them all without writing an entire novel. Keeping things short(ish) I'll just give some general thoughts.
1. Play whoever you like. You really don't need to worry about what works super well together unless A) you're really struggling in combat. B) You want to make something that can roll everything with big numbers. C) You're tackling the Spiral Abyss each new rotation which is the only place high quality team comps really matter.
2. That all being said, it is good to have a general idea of what characters you play/want to play do. Layla is a great example since you're super enthused about her. You get the gist of her being a support and that Elemental reactions are important. So going from there you can make decisions for the rest of your team. Since you're also very excited about Shenhe, she would also fit well since she buffs Cryo dmg. Now you've got a team with both Cryo Resonance (a bonus effect of having two characters of the same element. In Cryo's case a higher crit rate against frozen enemies.) and something that will highly benefit a Cryo DPS. So a pure Cryo DPS like Ayaka or Ganyu would be strong with something like that. Then to round out your last slot, a Hydro character that actively applies a lot of Hydro would fit best to take advantage of that Cryo Resonance and have a team that can constantly freeze the enemy. There's a ton of options once you reach this point. Maybe Kokomi to have some extra safety besides Layla's shield, or Mona to take attention off of you. You could even use someone like Ayato or Tartaglia as a sort of sub DPS/Hydro applier. Just take a good look at what you want to use, figure out their gameplan and work your way up from there.
3. It's hard to say one character is definitively the best or worse since there's a lot of room for variance in the way you play, the enemies you fight, the torture of the current Abyss rotation, ect. That being said, there is a general consensus on what some of the best and worst characters in the game are.
Typically: Kazuha, Raiden, Nahida, Yelan, Xingqiu, Xiangling, Bennett, Zhongli, Yae Miko, Ayaka, Hu Tao, Eula, Fischl, and Ganyu are all considered to be some of the most valuable/"best" units in the game.
They all excel at various things such at Bennett and Zhongli being the best support units in the game. Ayaka, Hu Tao, Ganyu, and Eula being considered the best DPS. Yae, Fischl, Xiangling, Xingqiu, and Yealan all being great for off-field elemental application of some kind. And Raiden, Kazuha, and Nahida all having various rolls that allow them to slot comfortably into basically any team.
On the opposite end of the spectrum: Aloy, Dehya, Chongyun, Candace, Sayu, Xinyan, Razor, Amber, and Qiqi are universally considered to be pretty not great.
Chongyun and Candace are characters that infuse their element to other characters, which a lot of the time isn't very valuable and often can be harmful. Their are niches where they work but its not very effective compared to alternatives. Razor, Sayu, Amber, and Qiqi all just do the same things as other characters but to a way worse extent.
Qiqi especially has always been cursed, because she was a good healer pre-Inazuma, but you never really needed her when Bennett existed or shield characters like Zhongli and Diona existed. After Inazuma where healing became a little more needed, Qiqi was still a not great choice because Kokomi became the defacto healer for most people, or the previously mentioned Bennett. Xinyan and Dehya are very much in a similar boat where they just have absolute non-sensical kits that don't mesh well and are super buggy.
Dehya was EXTRA screwed by the fact that she has absolutely no niche that she fills. She's too weak to be DPS, her Pyro application is really bad compared to other character and straight up just doesn't work at times, and the role of "tank" is completely pointless for all the same reasons as mentioned for Qiqi not being viable. Especially because that damage still needs to be healed off somewhere eventually.
Aloy is unfortunately the worst case because she's just an incomplete character. By design her kit isn't terrible actually, but it is pretty weak compared to other characters. Where her big problem comes in is that she doesn't have any Constellations or even a unique weapon designed to assist her like other characters. What you got out of the package was all you got, and unfortunately it was just a character who felt 25% done with no ways to make her better. Like all units she's still usable of course, but she genuinely suffers so much from not having a bit of extra effort put in. People had a pretty "heated" reaction to how bad she was, especially the Chinese playerbase which saw a ton of people straight up refusing to take the character out of their mail (which you had to do to claim her) and just letting her sit their for a year until she expired and was deleted automatically. I would guess that probably has a lot to do with why there hasn't been any other collabs (although there has been murmurs of a Demon Slayer cross over for awhile due to the upcoming Genshin anime being made by the same studio).
Other then them all other characters range from usable to Lisa or Kaeya, to pretty good but outclassed like Wanderer, Cyno, or Yoimiya.
Just gonna say that if you want to build Kuki shinobu, the best way is to get her full elemental mastery, that way when paired with dendro and hydro she deals a lot of damage, and since her healing also increases with elemental mastery you won't need more healing in the party.
Woooohoo! I was waiting for this! I’m so glad you got to see an more in depth look at the characters and their abilities. I always watch the collected miscellany before deciding if I want to pull on a banner for someone or not. ❤️ love your energy and reactions!
After Zhongli, Layla is the best shielder in the game. They are the only two that have a 100% up time for the shield. I use Layla to protect everyone, provide stability and apply cryo, so I have tried to get her HP as high as possible. She can fit in most any team, but of course having hydro on the team is good for Freeze. I enjoy her play style a lot.
As for the character I should not mention…Well, I had to give up on getting Wanderer so I could have him. Just like now, I am going to have to pass on Shenhe and Mika for Baizhu. With limited funds, one has to make choices and hope for a rerun at an opportune time. 🙂
The reason ppl hate qiqi not because they lose 50/50 to her. The only thing she do is just excessive amount of healing, and that it. There currently no content in the game require that kind of healing, and her constellation also meh. So, if you loose 50/50 to multiple of her copy, welp too bad for you, because you end up with nothing at all. The most common character that qiqi (5*) get compare to is diona (4*). Diona can heal, shield, generate energy for your team. Her constellation also very useful too. If a character is not popular with the mass, there always a good reason behind it. Either a character serve no practical purpose and occupy a slot on your team (qiqi, *cough*dehya), or the gameplay feel too clunky (klee), or shallow/superficial kit design just for the sake of launch the game on a different platform (aloy, <- yes, developers didn't bother to make constellation for her), or overlap role (dori, kuki just a better electro healer and can do even more).
I used Nahida with Thoma Xinqiu Kuki
This team is pure elemental reaction hell that can make overworld Genshin your home turf.
Gave her Widsith, and boosted Kuki's EM. Thoma gives the shield. Both Xinqiu and Kuki heals.
Now look at the list of reactions I can do:
Hyperbloom (This is game breaking)
Quicken
Overload
Electro-charged
Burgeon
Hyperburgeon
Vaporize
There's a reason it's called a "Rainbow Team".
I am trying to get another cons for Nahida. She's awesome and her gameplay is super fun.
I've been maining Childe since 1.1 and I don't think any other character has come close to the immense satisfaction I've gotten with him (Alhaitham is kinda near but its mostly on how he plays similarly to Childe tbh) and it's all because of Riptide and his Quad scaling. Ngl looking back at his character miscellany now, I'm pretty sure everyone had gotten turned off from how scuffed his gameplay looked haha but I digress, it's an old video when nobody still had any idea which character is good.
Riptide and quad scaling makes him so fun and satisfying to run around and let lose especially in mobs and enemies! Just watching them explode and the mark spread and explode again, there's nothing quite like it.
My only advice to new players seeking how to start playing who don't necessarily just want to ask meta, pick a character from the list, check their banner status (if they're near or just rerun, etc) and try and build a team around them. Meta is defined by how much resource you are willing to invest in a character to make them do insane damage (which includes, building a support team around them) as Genshin's powercreep is practically nonexistent. Anyone can deal insane amounts of damage if built right, the question is, how much investment are you willing to make.
Will you post your reaction while playing archon quests? (main quests) I'm curious about your reaction, also watching you is so much fun
Hu Tao was my first tripled crowned character and my main DPS. I got her and her weapon by accident (building pity) however she surprised me a lot at how good she is and how fun her game style is. I usually pair her with Xingqiu. And she’s such a bubbly character that I never get tired or annoyed of her idle animations/chats.
wow this is a looong video…. ok got my snacks and milktea, ready letss gooo
your comments about Layla are not bias because actually she really is an excellent elemental applicator and has a great shield
i have Eula shes cracked Physical DPS you rarely see Eula players because only the Older have her some People regret skipping her for Ayaka its almost 500days since her last banner XD
It's funny that I have had Klee for many months now, and after watching this video today I just realized that the sparkling thing allows Klee to use charged attack without consuming stamina. lol
Honestly I wanted to use Dori at first bc I loved her normal attacks , eventhough she’s support ofc but if you’re not in a rush or coop you still can enjoy it. But aside from that she’s quite solid as healer and battery support. I have her with OH Clam set and it’s just fun. Collei is also adorable I just had her for a while for the dendro but at the end I kept her she does her job just fine. Everyone else I use I think it’s fairly used. My Yanfei got screwed by artifact level ups but I trust people when they defend her potential
Layla , Wander , Raiden ( or Kokomi ) , Yaoyao super fun
Klee is such a cute chaotic kid. I am also planning to get her when she returns! You got spoiled that Nahida the dendro archon hahahaha it made me so happy to see the three archons on her collected miscellanny! Nahida is a must have character. She makes it easy to kill so many enemies
always love your honest reaction bro TT_TT , im like that too TT_TT that's make us a human 🙂 love this game so much, oh yeah i have klee too bro, i always laughing so hard when using klee XD XD , but i dont want klee to get hurt so before klee take action i usually use shield character first and then goes boom boom boom XD, btw i dont have jean from the day1 genshin up until now bro, i want jean so much TT_TT
I main Xiao and he's really great to use! He's not properly built yet just like the rest of my characters but I've been trying to level up my main party (Xiao, Anemo Traveler, Layla, and Barbara) to Lvl. 90 because I need to farm Xiao's artifact set (Vermillion Hereafter). Anemo Traveler is definitely an awesome battery for Xiao because the elemental skill can generate a good amount of elemental orbs for energy recharge. Also Layla's shield is very good and she's been stuck at Lvl. 60 for the longest time. I use Barbara for healing because my Bennett doesn't heal very much but once he's built, I'll switch Barbara out with him. I'm also trying to save up for Zhongli's rerun since he's actually a very good support to use for Xiao. I like to use Xiao's Lemniscatic Wind Cycling for exploration and battle since his current build has decent energy recharge. Just a piece of advice for if you want to use him: make sure you always have a battery and healer in the party so you can utilize his burst as much as possible!
Also, apparently Diona, Sucrose, and Jean are great support characters for Xiao as well. I sadly only have Diona and I'm hoping to at least lose my 50/50 to either Mona or Jean while building up pity so I can at least have a guaranteed Zhongli for when the time comes.
Some characters that dont seem that impressive are important to exist. For example Gorou is the best support you can have for geo teams, Yun Jin is your best choice when doing damage with normal attacks etc. They are not flashy but once you use them you will see how much diffrence they make with their abilities. They are designed to make other characters shine. Others in the same category are Shenhe (she looks fancy but her job is the same – boost for cryo dg), Mika (he is coming soon – boost for physical dmg), Kujo Sara (you liked her but she is same kind of character – dmg boost for electro characters), Faruzan (boost for anemo damage), Thoma ( his main job is triggering burgeon reactions), kuki shinobu (she is character to trigger hyperbloom), candace (is weird but she is similar to yun jin boost), layla (just to shield her team and help with freeze)
They all are simple but very important to functions of ur team
I really like long videos like this, great background noise for when I'm working and is always fun to see someone learning more about genshin and how the characters work. Thanks for the video.
New players have so much to catch on is kinda scary.
Wanderer is a DPS unit, so you want to pick his artifacts with more care. Dessert Pavilion Chronicle is his best set. Your main focus should be crit.dmg, crit.rate and atk% (personally, I have 213% crit.dmg, 65% crit.rate and 2113 atk).
You would want ATK% Sands, an Anemo dmg bonus Goblet and preferably crit.dmg Circlet for him.
For his talents, focus on the normal attacks (he is a shredder), then his E skill, and lastly, the ult.
As for Faruzan. Technically, her role is an anemo buffer = she increases the damage output of anemo units. She is not a must for Wanderer, but very appreciated in abyss to maximise his damage. She is constellation dependant, so I cannot advice you without knowing how many cons you have. At C0 she is energy hungry, and struggles. With C6, however, she is amazing. Anyway, you just want her to ult and swap to your anemo damage dealer immediately. That’s pretty much it. Have fun!
as a Keqing main… why don't people use Keqing more? prolly 'cause just my opinion when i started the game people either really hated keqing or were shamed for loving her… and when Riden came out people were going nuts for her so keqing was kinda glossed over after that
Kokomi and Tighnari main here (also maybe Cyno, I haven’t crowned him yet) ! 😊
Kokomi was a character I obtained during her initial release and she’s the best thing to have happened to my account. No exaggeration. Her heals and support are out of this world. Plus she’s so fun to use in my taser team. Essentially, to me she drives electro charged reactions with her being hydro catalyst and does insane healing.
Tighnari is super fun to play. I was won over mostly due to his design. He was gonna be a non limited character but I still pulled for his banner.
His skill and burst cooldown are pretty fast. And the auto targeting misiles are a life safer for those who can’t aim. I play him as quick swap in my Dendro/ electro team. Dendro in general is really cracked like anemo. Insane elemental reactions happen.
Cyno I also obtained on his initial release. Tbh I didn’t really know how to play him. I just rolled him bc he was a really good character. Nowadays thanks to Nahida I use him in hyperbloom team. Super fun too. He’s one of those 100% uptime on field characters so it may deter ppl from using him. But with the team I was introduced to for Cyno, he’s become one of my favorites to play.
No one uses her because people who are new to the game haven't been able to get her, since we haven't gotten an Eula banner in a 1yr. Sadged.
My favorite character are the Archone, Zhongli strong shelid. Raiden party members burst boost and her burst. Venti for gathering multiple enemies. And Nahida (still waiting to get her) she is a powerful support for Electro, Hydro, pyro.
But my must favourite 5star character are Kazuha (No.1 powerful support) Ganyu who is the No.1 strongest character Dps (Still trying to get her)
