Regarding a full Chongyun QUAD melt with Bennett:
the best way to go about it is by casting Bennett’s Q -> E -> AOE Swirl Pyro -> Chongyun Q
This should generally enhance the pyro that Bennett applied enough for Chongyun’s burst to melt 4 full times at c6
ALSO, regarding the viability of 4pc Blizzard Strayer on Chongyun:
Yes, chongyun shatters freeze in almost every attack his kit provides, making the full 40% crit rate more inconsistent for chongyun to use than it would be for.. Ayaka or Ganyu (they dont shatter)
HOWEVER, I circumvented this with high cryo application so that Chongyun is still reliably benefiting from at least the 35% crit rate bonus (20% from bliz, 15% from cryo resonance) and it works consistently, even allowing some of his attacks to benefit from the full 40% blizzard bonus, just very occassionally.
The point of that is mostly to say: 4pc blizzard is not as effective on Chongyun as it is for Ayaka or Ganyu or any cryo character that does not shatter a frozen enemy, BUT, there are reliable ways around this issue that will still allow you to run a lower crit rate in exchange for a higher crit damage ratio, as you can see from my own shatterfreeze chongyun team footage in this video.
hence why i recommended a general safe minimum of 20% crit rate for a blizzard build, so that you're at LEAST consistently striking with 55% crit rate

ive never seen anyone else do this, but by using thoma you can actually get chongyun’s normal attacks to melt and get him to output a lot of damage, and it also means its ridiculously easy to set up a melt nuke with his burst. i regularly get 18k-25k normal attacks with it, and his auto attacks are actually a lot faster than other claymore users, and his a1 helps with that.

I was watching GNCS (Genshin CN championship) today on tenten's stream and you won't believe it but Chongyun main dps smoked a Ganyu Shenhe melt team. Although it was a specifically good scenario for Chongyun (Hydro Abyss heralds) his 416k nuke is too good for a 40 burst cost.
CDR + Attack speed from his zone is very comfy. Especially when infusion is not overriden – Ayato, Itto, Tartaglia can SHRED with the buff (and Chong can provide Noblesse). Though not always needed, Yoimiya can get better skill uptime with him. Ayaka becomes stronger. You can get better rotations on important skills from Diona, Fischl, Noelle without having Sacrificial weapons
THANK YOU for mentioning freeze cryo DPS Kaeya with Chongyun. The team is so strong and can compete along the lines of Ayaka with high investment. 10/10 recommend
Bennett using the cryo infusion when he’s C6?????
Chongyun ultimate is nice because if one hit caused melt all the hits are melt thats amazing, anyway chongyun is a character that need some skill to play with him

Chongyun was the first character i pulled and i have mained him ever since then
I use him in a team kazuha, kokomi and shenhe and for freeze and shatter doesnt really matter so much cause i just re-apply cryo and freeze the enemies again + extra shatter damage
Plus in that team he can easily do 50k x 4 on his burst and no need to freeze the enemies if they are all dead
i predicted im gonna get Chongyun in x10 on Itto banner aaand yeah i was right. Time to slap him in my all short boys team

Used to use him just as an Attack Speed buff. Now thank to Shenhe I can at least goes for a QiQi build.
What about the Royal Greatsword for Chongyun? Planning on building him after the 2.8 event after Ninguang and Beidou.
My Dream Team: Shenhe,Chongyum,Xingqiu and Yelan.. alredy have him at C6. Next will be Xingqiu. Yelan and Shenhe will be optained later. All with Royal weapons of the Shop (already Obtained). They will battery thenself and will be an Amazing Team.

One of the few people who is not screaming "NOOO CHONGYUN SHATTERS IT'S NOT WORTH IIIIT" and that means you already deserved a like.
I hate when people make it into a big problem because it's literally not. Sure, you might have to doge one or two times, but in general, if the enemy is unfrozen – they are going to get staggered and freeze again in a moment. So when people that MAIN hem say "ye he is bad at freeze combo cuz shatter and 4p blizzard is a waste" I'm raising my eyebrow sky-high. I mean sure, Rosaria or Kaeya don't shatter enemies, but they also can't provide an infusion for themselves to have their numbers be buffed by Kazuha or Shenhe. They hit a cryo once in 6 seconds and every other time it will be physical damage. So placing Chongyun as a dps makes you have a one spot available to put BOTH Shenhe and Kazuha in, resulting in even bigger damage boosts :))
I have every unit in the game, every "broken" character fully built, but Chongyun is still the strongest and most comfortable for me to use :p
just came here after watching var's "Why no one plays chongyun".
I think the two teams that shock me the most as a Chongyun main is him with Shenhe, Kazuha, Kokomi.
And the other replacing Shenhe for Ayaka. They’re both surprisingly aggressive and allow at least one other character to capitalize their cryo dmg; the first team allowing three since Shenhe makes cryo Kazuha hit pretty hard.

I tried out a new melt /reverse melt team and i call it the "todoroki" team with diluc bennet chongyun an rosaria and it's uncredibly fun to play i think you should try it it's like the basic childe vape team where childe is an enabler for xiangling in this case diluc with his burst infusion is an enabler for rosaria and chongyun is here so diluc can melt his E alone when rosaria doesn't have burst and to nuke for big PP dmg and batterie rosaria it's a blast to play and is really powerful if any one reading has these characters try it out and for everyone asking why diluc in particular well he has the fastest pyro application from the character i own and i think even in general because his E doesn't have ICD so he can help rosaria melt her things more than hutao yaomiya xiangling etc, i think the only one better then him is probably C6 Bennet which i don't have…. Yet…. anyway thx for reading and childe is the best character in the game

I always him as a flex option in triple geo team to break non-cryo elemental shields. I remember in the Abyss I just get the herald to generate his shield then apply Chongyun's E and go to town with Zhongli. This is because Zhongli attacks very fast so he can make use of Chongyun's cryo infusion

The timing of this guide is flawless because I just started building him to use him on my dailies/friendship team. Considering he spook the shit out of Kuki Shinobu with his c10, I'm taking this as an attempt to get my attention and my god, he got it. I need someone fun to build anyway
All I want is to Run chongyun as burst support with ayaka and use him with 4 pc billizard and use his burst durin ayaka burst .I have shenhe too but I don't get why she's so popular with ayaka all she does is buff ayaka burst a little and just first 6 procs at that I think chongyun will be better for energy particles and overall burst damage correct me if I'm wrong

Chungyun can't benefit from the 4pc blizzard strayer set much. Shatter happens before the damage calculations so what will end up happening is his Crit chance calculations will only be based off of the hydro application if the target was frozen.
So, if you're running a freeze team he won't benefit at all from the 4pc if his burst causes shatter as well. I'm not sure but i know his skill does.
If you're running him under a melt team then you already know the target will be affected by pyro instead.

My Chongyun Cant exceed 20k above crit.. highest 17k lol… and my rosaria highest crit damage lvl 60 11k… this video help me alot of building a better chongyun
Chong Chong kit is actually good and functional if his multiplier are decent.

I use Chongyun in my Ayato perma freeze team along with Rosaria and Sucrose his C2 constellation comes handy in this team.
